DEVBLOG #2 – APRIL UPDATE
> WHERE WE’VE BEEN, WHAT WE’RE UP TO
Though it seems like we’ve been silent since our last batch of uploads, we have been at work on multiple fronts! In the span of the last few months, we spent a lot of time growing our team, working on important features and polishing what’s already done!
In this second DEVBLOG, we’re going to go through alot of these things; Gamemodes, Weapons, Equipment Roster, Camos, User Interface changes and Killstreaks will be on today’s menu.
However, before getting into the thick of these things, we want to take the time to clarify some points about the game’s current state: During the project’s lifespan, we always tried to show the world the most polished and finished material possible, which on the long term caused confusion about whether the game was in a “playable” state or not, and rightfully so. This is why we will try to showcase more rough and quote on quote “broken” and in-progress informations and material from this point in time, exclusively on our Discord server. That way, our community gets a better idea of the actual state of the game, and hopefully justifies all the time we spend working on it which ultimately translates to the time you spend waiting for a release.
> PARTY & WAGER MODES
Something we’re deeply fond of are Party modes. They create a fun and different experience, and coexist very well with our Credits system in the form of our custom Wager Matches, just like in the original Black Ops game. Party modes will be featured in a separate playlist, with a randomized mode and map rotation. They will also be available in Private Matches for some friendly-fun game-mode options, although the wagers will -quite obviously- be disabled.

We’re hoping to make a showcase video dedicated to some of these modes in the near future (looking at you, Infected). We’ll make sure to announce it when it comes!
> WEAPON UPDATES, INSPECTS & CAMOS
A huge part of the project consists of porting weapons from other Call of Duty titles, and as such, we ended up growing the development team in order to work on these items specifically.
Since we announced back in August about extending the inspection feature to standard weapons instead of just melees, a gap remained for the weapons that originally did not feature any. This is why a part of the weapons work now consists of adapating and creating inspect animations for said weapons, in order to make that feature universal and to avoid having both inspectables and non-inspecables as much as possible.

Also, a few changes has been made yet again to the weapons roster since last time; Here are the changes followed with a quick explaination as to why they’ve been made:
We are also working on the implementation of camos: With each Call of Duty game having different ways to handle camos, we have to adapt the weapons’ images to use a mask, on which the camo itself will be applied. This is how the MW2 engine does it, and it is more than good enough for our use case. As for Gold, Chrome and animated camos, they work in a slightly different way we won’t bother explaining just yet.
We still have yet to figure a complete camos list, since the implementation of those it not fully done. We’re aiming to have the widest diversity possible, from solid colors to more “hip” designs, without forgetting fan-favorites and classic camouflage patterns… but this is something that will get decided only when we’ll be able to scale what the engine is capable of in terms of numbers.

We’re constantly iterating on the current user interface and heads-up display, and while most changes are small refinements, we’ve made some changes worth noting lately.
> KILLSTREAKS
Killstreaks have remained rather untouched until that point. But we are now working towards refreshing some of the existing killstreak rewards, as well as refresh existing ones. In order to achieve the “Assault/Support/Specialist” system we’re aiming for, alot of work has still yet to be done. But we are making some progress regardless:

What is sm²?
sm² is a modded Call of Duty client based off the MW2 engine with all new features, weapons, perks, streaks, maps, QOL changes and more, all designed on top of our revamped gameplay to create a fun and balanced experience.

What are the goals for sm²?
Our main goal is to create our dream Call of Duty game. A mash-up of the best COD experiences in one place, completely free and player-friendly, with on-going updates and community feedback to help make this project the best it can be.
We don’t want to just make another MW2, we want to make a fresh experience while staying true to COD traditions and giving sm² it’s own identity.
Is this like IW4x or Plutonium games/clients?
Not at all. However, we have great respect for XLabs and Plutonium, and projects like this wouldn’t be possible without them.
Getting & playing the game
“I want to play this now, how do I get the game. ”
We have no f***ing clue, the game isn’t out yet. Alternatively I can invite you at my house to try it out if you’re nice (not real, pls don’t come at my house).
Is there a release date, Alpha or Beta?
No, and please don’t ask about them! When there will be confirmed dates, you’ll know.
Will the game be easy to download, and how will the account system work?
We obviously want to make it as easy as possible for people to get into the game, so you should expect an easy download process. Can’t say much on account systems at this time.
Is there a rough idea of when we could see this project rolled out? Also do you guys plan on doing any sort of open/closed Beta prior to release?
We honestly couldn’t give a date, even if we wanted to. We are still in VERY early stages and despite the videos we have shown, a lot is still to do. Betas or technical builds are something we’ll eventually think about further in the future, but considering the amount of work that needs to be done, we can’t really give any details on these either.
Will there at least be a chance for content creators to get their hands on the game early?
Technical Details
Will sm² be available on consoles?
No, and never will be. There is a gargantuan amount of roadblocks when it comes to this, from the development itself to the distribution of the game, to the point that a console release is simply unthinkable. However, with the implementation of controller support with aim assist, the game will be friendly to console players.
What are the game’s system requirements?
Roughly the same as the original Modern Warfare 2 game. Keep in mind that the game is a decade old now, and pretty much any computer that you could find on the market today should be able to run the game at a playable state, even non-gaming machines.
Why use the MW2 engine and not something newer and up-to-date?
Will there be an anticheat?
Yes, however we won’t be sharing any details on it for very obvious reasons.

Is there any PVE/Zombies/Survival modes, or even a Campaign?
No, and none of these are currently planned.
What Call of Duty titles will the game feature maps from?
COD4, MW2, MW3 and COD:OL. The latter includes BO1 and BO2 maps, as well as some unique COD:OL ones.
What can we expect when it comes to weapons? Is there a detailed list yet?
We currently have a set of confirmed weapons that you can find via https://sm2.gg/weapons. This is not the complete list, as we want to reveal more weapons as time goes on. Please note that our weapons list is pretty much finalized already.
Will there be voice chat?
Yes! This includes party chat, in-game chat and death chat.
Will servers have any mods or will it just be a vanilla ruleset?
At launch, we want players to experience the game the way we intended it, go through our progression system and become familiar with all the content we have available. For that reason we don’t plan on allowing mods on servers at launch, but once the release period is over, we can think more about that.
Can we expect to see matchmaking implemented into the game, or just servers?

What game modes can we expect to see at launch that weren’t in MW2? Also do you plan on adding other ones later on?
Cranked, Kill Confirmed, Search & Rescue and a whole lot of fun party modes just to name a few. Obviously we don’t want to reveal them all at once. We’ll add more later for sure.
Are there any deathstreaks or ‘annoying’ perks?
Will there be features added to the mechanics/settings/gameplay that weren’t originally in MW2?
For now, we’ve implemented various features such as Independant FOV Scaling, separate Melee Weapon slots and what we call “3D Scopes” for sniper rifles. Other than that, we can’t say much on new mechanics at this time.
Can we expect to see any competitive aspect added or just casual gameplay? (Ex. League Play, Custom Games Rule Set)
We are working on a competitive gamemode that we hope will appeal to both console players and Promod players, can’t say much else yet.
What will Custom Games/Private Match be like? Will it be easy for friends to join one another off accounts or possibly even an option for games to show up on the server list?
Private Matches will be as easy as joining/inviting through a friends list. They won’t show on a server list as that’s what dedicated servers are for. The settings available to the host are similar to MW2, but with the addition of bots. We also have a “lobby code” system; it will generate a randomized code that you can share, which will allow other people, even non-friends, to join.
What aspects of the game are customizable? Are they all unlocked through the in game currency system?
Will theater mode have an MVM tool or something similar?
Probably not at launch, but basic functionalities will be there to atleast save your clips.
Will there be some form of Offline Play?
Yes, you will be able to play against Bots in Private Matches. It will not be fully Offline though, as you still need an internet connection in order to log in. Note that progression will be completely disabled; you need to play online to gather XP and Credits.

Progression and Unlocks
When development on sm² was restarted early this year, we shifted our focus from a traditional mod to a complete multiplayer experience, and as such we’ve added new progression systems and ways to unlock gear. For that reason, there won’t be any unlock all commands, and we’ve implemented various forms of stat protection to make sure players play the game as intended.
With that aside, let’s get into the details on our progression systems. Reminder, anything you read here is subject to change, and any screenshots represent an in-development build.
Experience and Prestige
We’ve always loved the original levelling journey present in the older COD games, but it’s a bit outdated and to update it into a modern context, we’ve put our own spin on it while still keeping the legacy Prestige feeling.
You’ll start your journey at Level 1, and work your way up to Level 100. Once you reach Level 100, you have the option of staying at Level 100, or entering Prestige mode.
When you enter Prestige for the first time, all your stats will be reset, and you’ll start your road to Grand Master Prestige at level 1 without your previously purchased gear. From here on, you’re on a journey straight to Level 1000. After entering Prestige Mode for the first time, there are no more resets. Every 50 levels we’ll reward you with Prestige Tokens and Credits. Your tokens can then be spent in the Prestige Store, where you can buy Custom Class slots, Prestige icons and more.
Once you hit Level 1000, your playercard will be gilded, and everything in the Prestige Store will be free to purchase.
*You will keep any items bought from the Store when entering prestige mode or advancing your prestige.
Unlocking Gear
Throughout the history of Call of Duty, we’ve seen many different ways to unlock gear, including COD Points, Squad Points and more commonly unlocking weapons as you level up.
In sm², we’re introducing a new currency used throughout the entire experience called Credits (Cr).

Once you unlock the Loadouts feature at Level 4, you have unlimited access to the 100+ weapons available in sm². Weapons have a fixed price depending on their class, and can be bought at any time provided you have the funds for it. It’s non-refundable, so choose wisely.
Weapon Progression
After purchasing a weapon, equip it on your class and you can begin levelling it up with Weapon XP. Every weapon has a Weapon XP rank cap of 10, and attachments are unlocked as you level up your weapon. You’ll always have two attachment slots and a camo slot from the start so you won’t need to unlock those.
While attachments are unlocked by levelling up the weapon, camos are unlocked through Challenges. Complete all the camo challenges for a weapon and reach Weapon Level 10 to unlock Gold camo. Do this for all the weapons in a weapon class and you’ll unlock Chrome camo for those weapons.
Perks, Equipment and Pointstreaks
Rather than always being available to purchase, you’ll have to reach the required level first to buy the perk, equipment or pointstreak you want. This makes sure you always have something to work towards. As seen in Ghosts, being able to unlock whatever, whenever with Squad Points hurt the Multiplayer progression and made levelling almost obsolete. We want to avoid that, and give players more reasons to keep playing.
The Store
To give players more freedom when choosing how to spend their Credits, we’ve added the Rewards Store.
In the Rewards Store, you’ll find exclusive items that, while attractive, don’t come cheap and it can be a hard choice between buying a new weapon, or saving up for a Store item.
Currently, you can find the following item types in the Store:
These items come in 4 different rarities, Common, Rare, Ultra, Exotic and can be purchased at any time if you can afford it, and won’t be reset during Prestige.
And just in case you weren’t already sure, Credits are strictly earned in-game, and spent in-game. There is no money involved, and no microtransactions.

DEVBLOG #1 – Weapon attachments system re-write
Despite the arguable lack of footage during the past month, we’re still hard at work on the project and working on different features of the game. However, some things we work on are hardly showcase-able, which is why we’re reaching out about some features via a blog post instead! You can expect more of these as time goes on, as a way to show you what’s happening behind the scenes.
On this page, we’ll talk attachments; Attachments are a given in Call of Duty games, but they’re not always as simple to implement as one could imagine, not in our case at least. During the past few months, we had to put alot of work into redoing the entire attachment system from scratch. In this post, we’ll explain how and why we had this part of the Modern Warfare 2 engine redone!
> Technical Limitations
One thing that is important to know is that IW4 – aka “the MW2 engine” – is a 32-bit application, which makes sense considering the release date of the game, when 32-bit Operating Systems were still at large. But there’s one catch: 32-bit apps can only allocate 4GB of memory (RAM), and with that comes its share of pros and cons.
The good side of 32-bit applications is the lower memory usage across the board, and of course the compatibility with 32-bit Operating Systems (which you shouldn’t use anymore in this day and age, but I digress). The bad side however is that you have to work with a tighter memory pool, which means you have to optimize the work load as much as possible. And believe it or not, attachments play a massive role in this, and here’s why:
> How Attachments Works on IW4
In a nutshell, the game uses a lot of different asset types, such as animations, models, script and HUD files, to name a few “simple” ones. One of these types is what we refer to as “weapons“. These “weapons” aren’t actually the visible part of them, but are rather entries with all the information about them, such a stats, names, the sounds they play, the animations and models they’re using, and a whole lot more.
In the original Modern Warfare 2 game, each and every gun + attachment combo is its own “weapon”. For example, a stock AK47, an AK47 with a silencer, and an AK47 with Extended Mags and ACOG are all considered unique, so each and every one of them have their own entry. The game then proceeds to “precache” every one of these entries, so it can then give you your actual weapon during a match.
This system worked in the original game, given the number of weapon assets is below the engine’s limit (originally 1200). But with the amount of weapons sm² has, we would go wayyyy past that limit if we were to use the same system, and simply cranking it up would result in the game running out of its 4GB of allocated memory and crash. So we had to figure out another way.
> DYNAT who?
Introducing DYNAT, our own approach of solving this problem, inspired by the system used in more recent COD games.
DYNAT (short for DYNamic ATtachments) is a new system that will dynamically create the weapon on-demand, rather than precaching every single possible weapon + attachments combo at once. That way, each gun will have a base “weapon” asset, on which DYNAT will be able to “build” the rest of the weapon over before precaching it.
Then, every attachment is now distributed via a completely separate file. These files contain properties such as models to add to the gun (e.g a red dot sight, grip, etc..), where to place said models, eventual animation changes, stats tweaks, and more. Want a FAMAS with a Red Dot Sight and a Silencer? DYNAT will take the base FAMAS weapon asset, load the related Red Dot and Silencer properties, build the complete weapon, precache it, and finally give it to you.
Such a system allows us to drastically reduce the usage of weapon assets, and ensure that the game would not suffer from the engine’s limitations. This is a mandatory piece of work, and quite a time-consuming one as it requires a heavy amount of engine patching and engineering; In fact, DYNAT has been in preparation for a few months now.
As a comparison, you can see in the picture below the difference of weapon assets usage; where the old system (left) required dozens of files for just one weapon, DYNAT (right) allows the game to only use a single file.
> Conclusion & Pictures
This is a perfect example of all the work that’s required for the project. Engine-related work is always necessary to add features, rework some already implemented systems that don’t suit our needs anymore, and ensure the stability of the game’s client. This is not the kind of work that’s easy to show off, but it’s mandatory regardless!

The SMR, referred to as Saritch in the game files, is a semi-automatic (fully-automatic in the campaign), bullpup assault rifle featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. It has the highest damage per shot of all assault rifles in multiplayer.

Campaign
The SMR is available at the start of the future missions. It is fully-automatic by default, unlike its multiplayer and Zombies counterpart.
Multiplayer
The SMR is unlocked at level 46, along with the Skorpion EVO.
The SMR has the highest damage in its class. At any range short of 25 meters, the SMR will deal 59 damage per bullet, needing two hits to kill. At any range between 25 meters and 37.5 meters, the SMR will deal 55 damage per bullet, needing two hits to kill. At any range past 37.5 meters, the SMR will deal 49 damage per bullet, needing three hits to kill. The SMR past 37.5 meters comes extremely close to netting a two hit kill, as landing two body shots on a distant target will deal 98 damage total. An enemy that was previously injured from almost anything when the SMR user fires at them could potentially die in two shots. Getting one headshot ensures that the SMR can get a two hit kill at any distance. The SMR is always a one hit kill in Hardcore game types, and can even get one hit kills through walls. The SMR has high penetration power, allowing the SMR to retain much of its damage when shooting through surfaces. The SMR’s two hit kill range is significantly longer than that of the FAL OSW, and the SMR retains the two headshot kill at all ranges, unlike the FAL OSW.
The SMR’s fire rate is poor. It is semi-automatic, and the firecap is set at 535 RPM. This is the second slowest overall fire rate in the assault rifle category, with only the SWAT-556 having a slower overall fire rate. This heavily limits the SMR’s potential in close quarters combat.
The SMR’s accuracy is among the worst in its class. The SMR’s iron sights are somewhat clean, albeit in an unusual design. The SMR’s recoil per shot is heavy, as the SMR has no downwards recoil value, meaning that the SMR will kick upwards with every shot. The SMR also has notable recoil to the right, and not much recoil to the left. The SMR’s bad recoil per shot is also compounded by the SMR’s centerspeed. The SMR’s centerspeed is the worst in-class, at 1275. The SMR combines constant upwards recoil with a poor centerspeed, and this can force users into limiting how fast they fire the SMR at certain ranges.
The SMR has the worst handling traits in its class. The SMR allows users to move at 95% of the base speed, and strafe at 40% of the base speed, like any other assault rifle. The SMR is tied with the FAL OSW for the worst hip-fire accuracy in its class. Combined with the SMR’s low fire rate, the SMR is extremely unreliable in CQC. The SMR also has a slightly longer aim down sight time than all other assault rifles, aiming down the sight in 275 milliseconds, whereas the normal aim down sight time for an assault rifle is 250 milliseconds. Finally, the SMR has by far the slowest reload speeds in its class, with the reload animation taking 2.7 seconds long, or 3.2 seconds if the magazine was empty. In either case, the user can perform a Reload Cancel after 2 seconds. The SMR far and away has the slowest reload speeds in its class, as every other assault rifle’s reload cancel speed is at least 15% faster than the SMR’s reload cancel. The sluggish handling traits overall, combined with the poor fire rate, make the SMR quite bad at close ranges, where slick handling is needed. The SMR is not geared towards aggressive usage at all.
The SMR also has the worst magazine capacity in-class, at just twenty rounds per magazine. This also gives the SMR the smallest starting ammo loadout in its class, with a mere eighty rounds upon spawn. The SMR can make good use of what little ammo it has available, since it does have great damage and a slow fire rate, but the user can burn through those eighty rounds quite quickly. The small magazine capacity further exacerbates the SMR’s reloading woes, as reloads will both be long and frequent.
The SMR has the standard assortment of assault rifle attachments available. The Reflex Sight and EOTech Sight both provide an electronical, alternative sight picture as opposed to the iron sights, with the EOTech Sight providing a slightly higher 1.5x magnification over the Reflex Sight and iron sights’ 1.35x magnification. These attachments prove useful for users who do not like to use the iron sights. Generally speaking, the Reflex Sight should be avoided, since it has no functional difference from the iron sights besides the fact that the reticle can be temporarily removed by EMP effects. Still, precision is a virtue with the SMR, as the SMR is overly dependent on precision due to the slow fire rate.
The Quickdraw Handle cuts the aim down sight time of the SMR down to 165 milliseconds, making aiming much quicker. The Quickdraw Handle is a misfit attachment on the SMR, as the Quickdraw Handle is best served for a more aggressive user, and the SMR is best used in a more reserved, defensive role. Still, the Quickdraw Handle is without downside, and it does address the SMR’s unique weakness of a slower aim speed.
Fast Mag and Extended Clip should both be seriously considered for use on the SMR. The SMR combines a slow reload with a poor magazine capacity. Using one of these attachments makes reloads either less dangerous or less frequent. Extended Clip will increase the SMR’s magazine capacity to 26 rounds, and increase the starting ammo loadout to 104 rounds. Fast Mag is best used for a more aggressive SMR user, while Extended Clip is best for a more reserved user who doesn’t mind the slower reloads.
The ACOG Scope is a long range optical attachment that gives a very high magnification on target. Unlike the ACOG Scope of previous Call of Duty games, the ACOG Scope in Black Ops 2 Multiplayer does not make the aim down sight time longer, nor is centerspeed reduced. The ACOG Scope is a great fit on the SMR, which performs best at long range combat. The ACOG Scope also gives a very slight centerspeed increase, although it’s too small to really notice.
The Foregrip increases the centerspeed extremely slightly, from 1275 to 1300. The Foregrip should not be used on the SMR, nor on any weapon in Black Ops 2 Multiplayer for that matter, since the centerspeed increase the Foregrip provides is far too small to be worth the point spend, and the effect borders on unnoticeable.
The Adjustable Stock significantly increases the SMR’s strafe speed to 88%, more than double the default. The Adjustable Stock allows users to maintain swift movement while keeping the SMR’s sights raised. Such a severe increase in strafe speed can be awkward to get accustomed to though, and the fact that the SMR is best used in a more stationary role makes the Adjustable Stock’s value questionable on the SMR. If the user likes to use the Adjustable Stock on other assault rifles and LMGs, it should be used on the SMR to maintain a similar feel with regards to movement and aiming.
The Target Finder is, much like the ACOG Scope, a great thematic pairing with the SMR. The Target Finder increases the innate zoom level to that of the EOTech Sight, and will highlight enemies found in the Target Finder with a red diamond, facilitating target acquisition. The Target Finder does severely limit peripheral vision, however, reducing the situational awareness of the SMR user. Cold-Blooded users will not be highlighted by a red diamond. Despite these drawbacks, the Target Finder is a worthy choice for a user looking to make the SMR dominate at long range.
The Laser Sight significantly tightens the SMR’s hip-fire spread. This attachment is pointless on the SMR. Although the hip-fire accuracy is much better with the Laser Sight, the SMR still doesn’t perform well in close quarters. Users are better off switching to a secondary Pistol instead of relying on the SMR’s close quarters capabilities.
Select Fire gives the user the option to use the SMR in a fully automatic configuration, but this comes with the following penalties:
Compared to the FAL OSW, the SMR’s penalties when using the fully automatic configuration are far less punishing, as the SMR retains most of its accuracy, whereas the FAL OSW’s centerspeed is cut by 650 points, and the SMR’s two hit kill is minorly compromised, whereas the FAL OSW’s much shorter two hit kill range is cut by more than half. The SMR is definitely the better of the two semi-automatic assault rifles to use Select Fire on, but users should try to do without this attachment, as the fire rate granted from Select Fire is quite low, and many users can outperform it. Users should only use this if their trigger fingers are extremely poor.
The Suppressor removes muzzle flash, makes the SMR’s firing sound quieter, and prevents the SMR from revealing the user on the mini-map when firing. This comes at the cost of the SMR’s two hit kill range, as the SMR’s two hit kill range is reduced to 26 meters. The SMR’s range is one of the only positive attributes that the SMR has over other assault rifles, and it is the main stat that gives the SMR any niche over the FAL OSW. The Suppressor should be avoided at all costs, as pretty much any other assault rifle is a better fit for the Suppressor.
FMJ increases the SMR’s penetration power and the damage the SMR can deal to aerial scorestreaks. FMJ is a great fit on the SMR, as it allows the SMR to shoot through walls with impressive efficiency. Thin cover will barely impede the SMR, and thick obstacles can be pierced by the SMR’s bullets. This attachment plays to the SMR’s strengths and should always be considered for usage.
The Hybrid Optic gives the SMR a Reflex Sight and an ACOG Scope in one sight unit. The Hybrid Optic is versatile and a great choice for those who want to use both optics on the SMR. The only major issue as a sight is that it is incompatible with Select Fire and the Grenade Launcher, which can pose problems for those wanting to use said attachments.
The MMS provides an extremely low-zoom optic that can highlight stationary enemies through walls up to a certain range. The MMS can function well on the SMR, as the SMR has high penetration power by default. However, the MMS has several limitations, as the MMS cannot highlight enemies if they are moving, if they are too far away, or if the enemy is using Cold-Blooded.

The SMR appears in the Zombies game mode and can be acquired from the Mystery Box for 950 points and is semi-automatic. The SMR has bad accuracy, as the bullets spread even when aiming down the sights; for this reason, it is mostly better to just hip-fire, as the accuracy loss is almost negligible, and it allows the player to have a wider field of view (due to the lack of ADS zoom) and move more quickly. The SMR also has low damage; combined with the SMR’s accuracy deficiency, this usually makes the SMR require many shots to dispatch a few zombies. However, the SMR has a decent amount of ammunition, holding a total of 160 rounds, making it so the SMR can be used somewhat effectively in the early rounds to get points.
When Pack-a-Punched, it becomes the SM1L3R. It has a 30-round magazine, 420 rounds in reserve (390 starting ammo when taking it from the PaP machine, but the 420 limit is attained with Max Ammo), increased damage, and has a Hybrid Optic with a smiley face by default. Like most 2025 weapons, it can be Pack-a-Punched multiple times, to cycle through a Target Finder, a Millimeter Scanner, and a Reflex Sight; each of these attachments reduce the reserve ammo to 210. The SM1L3R still has a bullet spread while aiming down the sights (although it isn’t as big of a spread), and its damage is still quite shallow compared to other weapons. For this reason, many players generally avoid Pack-a-Punching the SMR into the SM1L3R, and due to the SMR’s weaknesses, many players detest and generally avoid the SMR altogether.

В этом году издательство Activision Blizzard выпустит свой новый шутер Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, а также переработанную вариацию королевской битвы Warzone 2.0. Однако большую ставку компания делает и на новый режим, который инсайдеры называли DMZ.

Одним из первых о существовании DMZ в конце 2021 года сообщил инсайдер RalphsValve. На этой неделе он поделился новой информацией.
Как утверждает блогер, за прошедшие месяцы режим претерпел существенные изменения. Теперь он носит рабочее название Project Nexus и будет распространяться по условно-бесплатной модели. Игрокам предстоит изучать большой открытый мир. Также ожидается сюжетная линия, которая продолжит сюжетную кампанию MW II.
Согласно предварительным данным, полноценный анонс DMZ/Project Nexus состоится уже в августе 2022 года, а релиз бета-версии запланирован на начало 2023 года. Разработка заняла около четырех лет и протекала в сложной обстановке из-за проблем с новой игрой от студии Treyarch. В итоге практически все внутренние студии Activision Blizzard приняли участие в создании DMZ.
Отметим, что в рамках официального анонса Modern Warfare II студия Infinity Ward хвасталась продвинутым ИИ противников. Кроме того, они рассказали об идее режима с 300 ботами и 100 живыми игроками.

> Introducing Signature Variants
We’ve teased these a few times before, but it is now time to properly introduce them to you.
Signature Variants are purely cosmetic weapon blueprints with their own pre-set attachments that transform your weapon entirely. They offer the exact same stats as their base weapon, while giving it a new set of models and animations.
Besides adding bad-ass weapon models, one of our main motivations behind Signature Variants was to allow players to use different iterations of existing guns. We can’t include every iteration of the same weapon with full support, such as the AK47 which has been featured in a dozen of titles. But what we can do is add some of those versions as Signature Variants, so you won’t miss out on some of your favorite-looking weapons.
Signature Variants don’t support camos, and the attachments are locked to whatever the variant comes with. If your weapon has a Signature Variant, you can purchase it at any time from the Collections menu using Credits you earn while playing the game.

CoD mod brings over 100+ weapons, 40+ maps, and more to Modern Warfare 2 engine
A modded Call of Duty client is venturing to bring a free mashup of the legendary franchise with the best maps, weapons, perks, and more running on the Modern Warfare 2 engine.
A group of developers are putting together a CoD client aiming to provide a fun and balanced experience. Called ‘sm2,’ the upcoming mod aims to be one of the biggest remixes for Call of Duty to date.
“Our main goal is to create our dream Call of Duty game,” the sm2 devs said. “A mash-up of the best COD experiences in one place, completely free and player-friendly, with ongoing updates and community feedback to help make this project the best it can be.”
A release date for the mod has yet to be revealed. While the devs have been making solid progress on it, their ambitious project will take the team some time.

They have plans to share more features at a later time. The CoD mod is also going to have controller support that will have aim assist.
There’s will be a Prestige mode that will let players go from level 1 to 100 before resetting. In Prestige mode, there’s only one reset. After that, it’s going to be a grind from level 1 to 1000.
Every 50 levels will unlock Prestige Tokens and Credits that can be used in the respective Prestige and Rewards stores.
You’ll be able to buy Custom Class slots, Prestige icons, and the like in the Prestige Store, while the Rewards store holds cosmetics, melee weapons, emblems, etc.
There’s going to be a lot to unpack for longtime Call of Duty fans when sm2 launches, and it’ll be interesting to see what else the devs put in.

Что касается Modern Warfare II и Warzone 2, то Activision Blizzard намерена «начать все с чистого листа». За оба проекта отвечает студия Infinity Ward, они будут базироваться на новой версии графического движка Call of Duty.

Чемпионат мира 2022 в Call of Duty: Mobile
Для начала вам нужно попасть на главную страницу события, ссылки на нее раскиданы по всей игре! Жмем — Регистрация.
Выбираем страну своего проживания!
Этап 1.
Чемпионат делится вроде как на 5 этапов.
После регистрации появляется шкала с 10 ячейками, это 10 боев в рейтинговой СИ, которые вы должны сыграть, чтобы получить награды!
За регистрацию вы сразу получите рамку — Король улиц и…
…анимированную визитку — Играть по-своему. Визитка вообще шикарная!
В первые и последующие выходные вам нужно сыграть по 10 боев, а также желательно за 10 боев набрать 60 очков, чтобы получить дополнительную награду, для этого в боях нужно побеждать! В зависимости от вашего ранга за 1 победу дают от 10 до 25 очков.
В первые выходные за 60 очков дают эпический QXR — Король улиц, Латинская Америка.
За 10 боев вы получите: 2 эпических ящика, 10 карт оружейного опыта и 500 кредитов.
В 1 этапе нужно играть по 10 боев каждые отборочные выходные, расписание:
Если отыграете все 40 боев, то получите оперативника Zero — Main Event (на первом скрине). Если в один из выходных вы наберете 60 очков, то перейдете на 2 этап.
На скрине выше награды за все отборочные выходные.
Этап 2.
Во 2 этапе игрокам предстоит объединиться в команды и отыграть 30 рейтинговых матчей! 256 команд набравших больше всего очков (дают за победу) перейдут на 3 этап! За 30 сыгранных матчей на втором этапе игроки получат скин Charly — Local Legend (справа на скрине выше).
На скрине выше пулемет дадут за 10 игр на втором этапе, автомат за 20 игр на втором этапе, а граффити за регистрацию. CP-шки за высокое место на втором этапе (подробностей не нашел).
В общем, весь праздник для обычных игроков заканчивается на 2 этапе, далее еще будут 3, 4 и 5 этапы, подробности можно почитать в правилах по ссылке выше. Все награды за 1 и 2 этап можно также посмотреть по ссылке выше. Удачи!

Fill out your arsenal with one new weapon and one new scorestreak unlocked for free in the Season 2 Battle Pass. The AS Val, unlocked at Tier 21, is a brand-new and unique fully-auto assault rifle. At Tier 14, you can also grab the new Napalm scorestreak for Multiplayer.
Other free items include the Razorback and M21 EBR – Phantom Limb, Combat Axe – Gas Cloud, a whole series of camos for BR, weapons, and more.

New Classic Maps: Shoot House & Shipment 2019
Get ready to duke it out in two of the most classic small maps in Multiplayer history. First introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Shoot House is a fast-paced, three-lane map designed for frenetic engagements within a military training course. Snipe down long sight lines or cut across the lanes seeking close-quarters combat. Shipment (2019) introduces the latest iteration of the fan-favorite map, and it’s just as chaotic as you expect it to be. Fast reflexes and relentless attacks are mandatory for building a streak here, so stay on the move and keep your head on a swivel. On a map this small, the action never stops.
New Multiplayer Perk, Scorestreak
Expand your Multiplayer toolkit with all new gameplay content. Intel nuts can pick the new Recon Perk: every time you take out an enemy, nearby enemies are scanned and displayed on the mini-map.
Like causing chaos? Season 2 introduces the Napalm Scorestreak. Build up enough score and designate a target path for air support to carpet bomb, leaving a trail of damaging fire in its wake.
Calling all Sharpshooters: Snipers Only 3v3 Gunfight
Think you’ve got the best shot? Now you can prove it. In this new Gunfight variant, two teams of three will battle it out to see who can first win six rounds using only sniper rifles. Line ‘em up in your sights right off the bat or stay light on your feet to avoid enemy shots, countering when they’re stuck in the reload. Whatever your tactic, it’s sure to be a tough fight.
New Battle Royale Vehicle and Class
No terrain is too tough for the Truck to handle, the latest vehicle coming to Battle Royale. Jump into this unique vehicle with your squad and make your presence known as you drive in search of the next epic stash of loot.
Able to carry up to six players, the Truck offers heavy protection, while the truck bed itself offers some fun opportunities, like using BR class abilities like Airborne, catching airdrops and allowing players in the bed to have free movement while firing, reloading, or almost anything else.
Command a Soldier in the Pursuit Event
Arriving later this Season, the Pursuit event grants you command over your own Special Ops soldier. Send them out on operations to gather loot to hand over on their return. Talk about a helping hand.
Strengthen your soldier by playing Multiplayer and Battle Royale matches, which in turn earns XP toward leveling your companion. The stronger your soldier, the better the loot they’ll gather in the field. Max out their level and claim the soldier permanently, adding them to your roster of usable Operators.
