After Sly’s life flashes through his mind, he struggles to free himself from the tight grip of Dr. M’s monster. Sly was so eager to see what was inside the Cooper Vault, as the door was beginning to open. He wonders what he would contribute with what he had measured up, and also wonders if his father would either be proud or ashamed of him.
As the end of Sly’s life draws near, he begins to regret how cowardly he was towards Carmelita, saying he never took the next step. Looking at Bentley and Penelope, he realizes that’s clearly what life is about. He wishes he could tell Carmelita straight-out how he really feels, and wishes they could put aside their professional differences and see if they can make it work, but it is too late for that now.
As the beast continues to crush Sly, he can no longer take it and begs for the pain to stop.

The Getaway [ ]
Dr. M just stands there, unwilling to leave as the walls collapse on him. Since he spent his life lusting over the Cooper fortune, he refuses to give it up, no matter what the cost. Murray manages to get everyone out safely as the fortress falls apart. Bentley and Murray stands there as the structure falls, thinking back on all of the adventures that had brought them to this island; the people they met and the places they’ve seen. They worked for a long time to get Sly into the vault, and now its secrets are permanently hidden. Bentley hopes that Sly found whatever he was looking for in the vault.
They search around the island for Sly, retrieving the gang one-by-one, but he is nowhere to be found. They make a surprising discovery that he actually doesn’t want to be found. As usual, he left a calling card, with his cane propped up against a cave opening, with his pouch dangling from it. Inside the cave are all of the Cooper Clan’s riches, which he obtained from the vault.
Months passed, and Sly still doesn’t show up. Each member of the gang goes on to continue their lives. Murray heads back to Australia to finish his Dreamtime training with the Guru. They each have to step out on their own for the first time without Sly there as the leader. It is difficult, as the 3 of them had never been apart since they met at the orphanage. However, Bentley and Murray remain close to this day. Murray recently joined the professional racing circuit, stock-van class. Things are going great for him, as he has a unique talent for surviving crashes that would be fatal to others.
Then there is Penelope, Bentley’s new partner in crime. Bentley admits he’s in love. The two had set out on an adventure Bentley never would have dreamed of when working with Sly and Murray, although he hopes they would cross paths again. The two create a high-tech security door for the new entrance to the Cooper Vault. Bentley writes in the Thievious Racoonus that although this may be the end of the adventures together, it may be part of something even greater. Time will literally tell, because Bentley states he is going to build a time machine to find out what the future holds.
Dimitri goes on to become a celebrity skin-diver, which causes money and ladies, to flock to him. The Panda King returns to China, and lives a happy life living two doors down from his unmarried daughter, Jing King, who is happy to have him screen all of her future suitors. The Guru returns to the Australian Outback and continues to train those willing in the art of the Dreamtime. He begins teaching The Oscars, which brings him a lot of unwanted media attention, causing him to hide out where no one would look, in the heart of New York City.
Some time later, Bentley scouts around Paris with his binocucom and finds Sly hand-in-hand with Carmelita at a party. Sly turns around, looks straight at Bentley, and winks. Talking to himself, Bentley calls him a sneaky-devil.

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves (Sly 3: Honour Among Thieves in PAL territories) is a stealth-action platforming video game that was developed by Sucker Punch Productions for the PlayStation 2. It is the third video game in the Sly Cooper franchise. Sly 3 has optional 3D stages, and the PS2 release came with a pair of 3D glasses inside the manual. Despite receiving lower ratings than its predecessor, the game received generally positive reviews from the gaming press and according to review aggregates was as well-reviewed as the original game.
Sly 3 released on September 26, 2005 in North America and November 18, 2005 in Europe on the PS2. On November 9, 2010, it was released on PlayStation 3 as part of The Sly Collection HD remaster. Its first release in Japan was as part of the the Sly Cooper Collection HD remaster, released on January 27, 2011.

Synopsis
The game begins with Sly, Bentley and unknown members of the Cooper Gang about to launch a heist on Kaine Island, a heavily guarded island in the South Pacific. With the help of the unknown members, Sly makes his way to a vault on top of the island. Just as Sly manages to open the vault using his cane, a shot fires, closing the vault door. The shooter is revealed to be the owner of the island: Dr. M. He demands that Sly hand over the cane. Sly refuses, and Bentley suddenly appears and distracts Dr. M, allowing them to make their getaway. Just when it looks like they’re in the clear, Dr. M strikes back, controlling a giant mutant. The monster first attacks Bentley, capturing him in exchange for the cane. Sly throws the cane into the monster’s mouth, freeing Bentley. The monster throws the cane away, and it lands on a magnetic buoy. The monster grabs Sly and starts to crush him painfully. It looks like the end for our hero.
Sly, in his last moments, remembers the events of Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus and Sly 2: Band of Thieves. He remembers finding a thief named Jim McSweeney in jail, who was the muscle in Conner Cooper’s gang. McSweeney tells Sly about the Cooper Vault, a vault where all Coopers stash their loot. McSweeney gives Sly a map to Kaine Island, where the vault is located. However, upon arrival, they find the island has been taken over by Dr. M, and made into a seemingly impenetrable fortress. Sly realizes that it will take a world-class gang of thieves to break into the vault.
The majority of the game is a large flashback that recounts how Sly and the gang hired four other professionals to help with the heist. The gang first sought to bring back Murray, who left the gang after Bentley was crippled during the Clockwerk Incident. They found Murray in Venice, Italy under the orders of The Guru, his Dreamtime teacher. They later recruited the Guru during an expedition in the Australian outback. The gang continued on, recruiting Penelope, a remote controls expert and eventually Bentley’s girlfriend; Panda King, a demolitions expert who joined the gang after his daughter is saved from General Tsao; and Dimitri, an underwater expert and diver.
After the flashback ends, Sly mentally begs for the pain to stop as the monster crushes him more and more. Luckily, due to the intervention of the others, including Carmelita Fox, he is saved from death. After recovering and fighting off more of Dr. M’s monsters, Sly gets inside the Cooper vault. Despite Murray and Bentley’s best efforts to guard the entrance, Dr. M follows Sly in and confronts him. After a long battle, Carmelita arrives and places both of them under arrest. The doctor fires a laser blast at her, but Sly jumps in the way and takes the hit himself. Carmelita finishes off Dr. M and then goes to check on Sly. He wakes and appears to have amnesia, having no idea who Carmelita is or who he is. The Inspector lies, telling Sly that he is Constable Cooper, her partner. The two escape as the vault begins to collapse, leaving Dr. M to his fate.
After the heist, Dimitri went on to become a professional swimmer and became the object of all the ladies. The Panda King returned to China, living two doors down to his daughter’s house, however, she is still unmarried due to his «screening» of potential grooms. The Guru returned to the Outback and began to teach a group of rock stars (who appear to be a parody of the Beatles, and the ones who appeared in Don Octavio’s opening cutscene) and hides at the center of New York City, where it is very safe to teach them. Bentley and Penelope install new security on the Cooper Vault, announcing plans to build a time machine and Murray goes on to become a racing driver, but stays in close contact.
After the end credits, we get to see where Sly has ended up, which is holding hands with Carmelita on a balcony in Paris through the eyes of Bentley. Suddenly, Sly looks back and winks at Bentley’s vantage point, indicating to Bentley (and the player) that he faked his amnesia. Bentley then quips, «That sneaky devil!»

Playable characters
There are a total of eight playable characters. Sly, Bentley and Murray are once again playable, but Inspector Carmelita Fox and the four new members of the Cooper Gang are playable in certain sections of the game. However, only Sly, Bentley and Murray can free roam.
Sly’s core gameplay in Sly 2 remains intact, but he has gained a few more abilities that help him at specific points of the game. He can now crack certain safes by turning their dials and feeling for certain vibrations, fly a biplane armed with turrets, use a variety of disguises to fool guards, and command a pirate ship armed with cannons.
Bentley’s core gameplay from Sly 2 has also been expanded. Bentley is now confined to a wheelchair, which removes his ability to crawl under tight spaces and sneak around ledges like in Sly 2. Despite this, it ironically makes him more versatile than ever before. He can use his wheelchair as a means of attack, to slow his descent and jump farther distances using its hover pack, and delay-hold-onto his bombs to choose when to drop them into the guards’ pockets. He can also now engage in pickpocketing, like Sly, but with a different approach to this: he uses a magnet-hooked fishing pole called the Pick Pocket Pole to literally reel in coins and loot. He can also crack the codes to certain safes with art decryption locks by thoroughly examining the art.
Murray’s core gameplay from Sly 2 has also been expanded. He, too, can now pickpocket, but by hoisting stunned or unsuspecting guards above his head and shaking them down for the goods. The coins must be picked up off the ground after the guard is shaken, but Murray will always catch the loot he gets. His Dreamtime training has given him another move, the Aboriginal Ball Form, which has several uses: it allows Murray to roll around like a ball, cover himself in a damaging energy field, bounce to incredible heights, and generate shockwaves upon bouncing off the ground at high speeds and heights.
Carmelita mainly uses her shock pistol to shoot enemies. By default, a strafe appears on screen to better aim shots from the pistol, but it can be toggled on and off whenever the player feels like it. Her only melee attack is a short-ranged back-spin roundhouse kick called the Power Kick, but this is usually not as useful as the shock pistol. She also has a Mega Jump that launches her a good distance into the air, but she has to stand still to perform it.
The Guru uses his Dreamtime abilities to complete missions. He mainly possesses enemies to traverse the area at fast speeds, which also allows him to break certain structures by ramming the possessed guard into them. While he cannot attack on his own, he can order a possessed enemy to attack on his behalf. He can also use his staff to blend in with his surroundings, preventing enemies from spotting him and tricking enemies that have already spotted him.
Penelope is almost never directly playable, with her preferring to use her RC chopper or RC car to complete missions. Her RC chopper has a grappling hook that can latch onto enemies, obstacles, and other objects. The chopper’s thrusters are used to pull anything the hook latches onto. Her RC car traverses the ground fairly quickly and is equipped with a turret that can shoot any obstacles that get in its way.
The Panda King takes to the field armed with fireworks to complete missions. He mainly attacks by placing the fireworks into a pack and releasing them. He can target multiple enemies while loading the fireworks when the player moves the camera in their direction. His only melee attack is a Flame-Fu-style karate chop, which instantly sets weaker enemies on fire, but this is usually not as useful as the fireworks.
Dimitri uses his swimming prowess to complete missions. His playable sections can be described as underwater first-person shooters. He can swim up, down, sideways, forward, and backward. He can also swim faster and in farther strides by power-swimming; this comes at the cost of stamina, which can replenish itself. His only weapon is a spear gun, which has a fairly slow rate of fire, but is nonetheless essential to completing his missions.
Other changes
There are now certain moments of the game where the player has to engage in a conversation in which you are presented with a speech bubble and a dialogue tree, mostly when negotiating with another character. In order to progress any further, you will need to choose the option in the dialogue tree that best solves the issue at hand. In most cases, failing to pick the right one will just allow you to pick from the remaining choices, but there are a few times where failing a conversation has consequences, such as in The Talk of Pirates.
Loot no longer needs to be sold back at the safe house. The item’s worth is added immediately to the coin count.
Clue bottles have noticeably been removed, as have the treasures scattered throughout the hub worlds.
As in Sly 2, the actual locations of Sly 3 change as missions take place. Time passes, and important environmental objects that get destroyed in the story, like the Ferris wheel in «An Opera of Fear» and the windmills in «Flight of Fancy,» will remain that way as soon as they are destroyed.
USB Headset Compatibility
A returning feature from Sly 2; if the player has a Sony PlayStation 2 USB Headset plugged in, once activated from the «Options» section of the pause menu, the player can use the microphone to distract nearby guards by speaking into it. Additionally, any Binocucom chatter coming from a character out of vocal range of the player will come exclusively through the headset, while all sounds from within the player’s vicinity will continue as normal.
3-D Compatibility
The game contains 3-D sections. 3-D glasses have been distributed with each copy of the game, and are used in certain parts of the game. However, 3-D is optional in these sections, allowing the player to switch the levels into normal once more. Some levels are playable in 3-D from the beginning, while other levels require the 3-D feature to be unlocked. Certain objects in the levels are only visible when being played in 3-D. The 3-D effect is focused on certain objects in the background rather than the characters themselves, minimizing the necessary blue/red separation and making it easier to watch someone playing in 3-D without a set of 3-D glasses.
Bonus features
A variety of bonus features are present in the game, with more of each of these features being unlocked as you progress through the game.
There are bonus missions based on completed story missions called Master Thief Challenges. These are set with specific restrictions, like time limits or starting the player with 50% health, to make completing them a little more difficult. An extra treasure hunt mission for each hub world is attained at the end of the game. Doing all of the Master Thief Challenges is required to reach 100% completion.
Completing an episode also gives access to concept art pertaining to that episode, from various locations within that episode, to the designs of the antagonist and the new Cooper Gang recruit in that episode.
Bonus videos, including a two-part short called «Goodbye My Sweet,» a documentary on the early development of the first two games called «The Evolution of Sly,» and a music video for Dimitri’s theme, are unlocked with specific game completion percentages.

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves was positively received with reviewers praising its gameplay variety and split-screen multiplayer mode, but criticizing its length, cliffhanger ending, and lack of side character development. It received a GameRankings score of 84.18% [2] and a Metacritic score of 83/100. [1]
Release
Sly 3 was the only game in the original trilogy never to be released on the PS2 in Japan. It was also the only one not to have its own strategy guide published by the time of its release. Both of these elements would first appear when the game was remastered.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack for Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves was composed by Peter McConnell. It was released in 2006 and contains 29 songs, including three songs from the Sly 2: Band of Thieves soundtrack.

Brian Fleming of Sucker Punch Productions stated in an interview that «We’re broadening ourselves a little bit, taking on some new challenges,» but also noted that «I think it’s extremely likely that you’ll see us return to the Sly Cooper franchise at some point in the future.» Nate Fox, one of the game designers for Sucker Punch Productions, also stated in a phone interview when questioned about it that he’d love to make another Sly game, adding to the possibility of a sequel. [7] An Easter egg found in the Sucker Punch game inFAMOUS shows a movie called «Sly Cooper 4» on the building’s marquee; there is also a Sly Cooper symbol on Cole’s backpack and back of his pants. Upon completing all three games as part of The Sly Collection, a movie option is enabled within the game’s menus. The movie is a short video showing Sly’s silhouette lurking in tall grass, followed by a Sly 4 logo, with Cooper’s trademark cane used as a question mark, teasing the possible sequel. Kevin Miller, the voice actor who voices Sly, confirmed that he had been contacted about voicing Sly in Sly 4, furthering its possibility at the time. [8]
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, was finally revealed at Sony’s 2011 E3 conference, but was being developed by Sanzaru Games instead of series creator, Sucker Punch. Thieves in Time was released in North America on February 5, 2013 and March 27, 2013 in other territories on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Although it was the fourth game in the series to be released, the title never contained a «4» in any releases. The reason why was never revealed and remain unknown to this day.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus was released among a deluge of platformers for the PlayStation 2 in 2002, presumably vying for the title of the «Mario killer» for the budding system. The other two games, the Ratchet and Jak franchises, have gone on to change their focus in subsequent iterations, but Sly Cooper’s unique presentation and charm has remained constant. Of course several things have changed for Sly in recent years—he’s dropped the tricky-pronouncing manual from the title, incorporated a few more characters into the lineup, and now, in the third game, he’s gone 3D. sort of. These small changes have either slightly accentuated or not affected the gameplay at all, and the resulting game is bigger, longer, and Slyer than the previous two in the franchise. Although Sly 3 still suffers from a relative ease that has always plagued the series, the gameplay is varied and clever enough to keep a player of any skill level’s attention.
The events of the game begin right where Sly 2: Band of Thieves left off. Although it helps to be familiar with the previous two games in the series, you can still pick up Sly 3 and jump right into gameplay—just don’t expect to get all the inside jokes. When last we saw Sly and the gang, things were somewhat shaky among the central three characters. The brain of the trio, the turtle Bentley, had suffered a crippling accident and was now confined to a wheelchair. The muscle, the hippo Murray, blamed himself for the incident and ran off to seek a more peaceful life of meditation. The game begins with the group fractured, and a new challenge facing Sly Cooper. At the onset, we learn that Sly’s family, the notorious thieves named Cooper, had a vault where they kept all of their treasures. An evil genius named Dr. M is attempting to crack into the vault, and he has set up a fortress around it. Sly resolves that, in order to get his family fortune back, he must assemble a team of infiltration experts to get through the fortress and to the vault, which only Sly can open.
Sly 3 is full of clever dialogue and charming personalities.
The game’s levels occur in vastly different regions of the world, from the snowy mountains of China to the depths of pirate territory on the high seas. The point of each level is to aid and then recruit a new player for the Cooper family vault heist, like an anthropomorphic Ocean’s Eleven, or something. Like Sly 2, the levels here consist of massive hubs, which not only facilitate getting between different objectives, but also often house the objectives themselves. This setup makes the game flow smoothly from objective to objective, and you’ll find that every objective on the level contributes to your overall goal. Upon finishing an objective, you may return to the safe house, which serves two purposes. The first is to purchase gadgets and upgrades via the handy «Thiefnet» with the coins that you’ve been collecting around town, which can be found in barrels and from dead enemies. But the best way to get money quickly is to pickpocket guards who are still alive by sneaking up behind them and relieving them of their wallets.
Of course, you don’t need to upgrade your attacks, especially if you prefer to focus on the stealth aspect of the game. However, from time to time, certain upgrades will be mandatory in order to progress through the main storyline, so it’s best to collect money whenever you can. The other reason for the safe house is to switch between the three main characters. On all of the levels, the characters have different roles, so you’ll need to use each of them and their unique abilities to complete the whole game. As you travel around the hub, you can press a button to bring up the location markers of the available missions. These markers rise above the building levels, so you can look up into the sky and head in the general direction of the next objective. The markers are also color coded depending on which character is needed to complete the objective, which makes the process of switching characters easier. This process might have been tedious otherwise.
The story is fairly linear, although you’re given several objectives at the start and can do them in any order that you see fit. Upon arriving to a new country or level, Bentley outlines the plans in typical Sly Cooper fashion, via a slide show. The slide show previews the upcoming objectives, and they are narrated by Bentley’s overly nerdy but adorable commentary. On each level, the team is working against a boss who is as flamboyant as he is nefarious. Although there are quite a few new faces in this game, fans of the franchise will be treated to some guest appearances, including reliving a previous sequence from Thievius Raccoonus inside the memory of one of the bosses. Sly humorously comments that he’s done this all before and that the boss should really snap out of it.
Essentially, gameplay boils down to minigames, every minigame you can possibly imagine.
The gameplay is more like Sly 2 in that it seems to be made entirely of minigames. These vary from an opera-singing contest, which plays like your standard rhythm game; a pirate-insult-joke face-off, Monkey Island-style; airplane dogfights; and countless others. Although some of the sequences repeat themselves, the game does an excellent job of keeping everything fresh by throwing in every minigame you could possibly conceive of, and more. In some respects, the gameplay switches too frequently to give you any sense of settling down and getting into the groove. On the other hand, the objectives are so well-tied-together and so involved in the detailed storyline that you’ll likely be enthralled with the whole endeavor. You’ll also recognize quite a few of the gameplay moments from games you’ve played before, but each one is so fleeting that it feels more like a tribute than a rip-off.
One of the game’s greatest accomplishments is the sense of character that you get from the three leads, the new additions to the team, and the various enemies you encounter. Each personality influences the story and the way in which the character interacts with others. The downside to this is that there is a tremendous amount of exposition and dialogue, which can go on longer than the gameplay itself. If you’re not moved by the characters and the scenario, you will likely tire of the cutscenes and voice-overs quickly. With rare exception, the voices are done very well, which is important considering how much you will rely on them in order to progress through the gameplay. This has its problems as well, because if you miss something being said, it might take longer than it should to figure out the next course of action that will progress the story. The sound plays a significant role throughout the game, as you will come to rely on the stealth noises to ascertain exactly how far away you are from the closest enemy and whether or not he has seen you.
The major change that was made to Sly 3 in order to differentiate it from the previous games was the introduction of 3D. With each retail copy of the game comes a pair of 3D glasses inside the manual, which you can cut out and use whenever the game calls for it. The 3D sequences in the standard playthrough are few and far between, and each time you encounter a 3D level, the glasses are vaguely incorporated into the story. For example, in one instance, you’re heading into a dark cave and are told that you can use optical enhancers to see more clearly (even the characters inside the game can be seen wearing them). However, it’s entirely optional, because before each sequence you’re prompted with an option to play in 3D or not. Should you choose to use the 3D, you’ll find there’s not much to it, and it’s really more of a hassle than an added bonus. Most of the 3D occurs when an object that you’re walking past comes up in the foreground of the screen, and it seems to pop out toward you a little bit. This doesn’t really help the gameplay much, and isn’t even neat enough to be worth the hassle of the inevitable 3D-goggle headache.
Don’t even bother with the 3D, because it’s not worth the headache. literally.
Thankfully, this plays a much less significant role in the game than would be expected, and could (and should) be bypassed completely. You probably would benefit from checking out at least one level in 3D to realize for yourself that 3D in gaming still doesn’t work any better than it did in Jim Power: Lost Dimension for the SNES. If you happen to enjoy the 3D experience, there’s an option to go back and play through most levels in 3D after you’ve completed them, and they do look surprisingly better than the normal in-game levels, but the 3D feels much too gimmicky to be worth exploring as a serious gameplay element. Otherwise, the graphics are as good as they’ve always been. The original Sly Cooper was one of the first games to lead the cel-shading charge, and the series is still one of the best at it. We did notice the occasional drop in frame rate from time to time, but for the most part, the game is smooth and pretty.
Completing the game doesn’t automatically register a 100 percent playthrough, and you’ll find there’s much more to go back through and play after you’ve done the single-player. On each level there is a sequence of «Master Thief Challenges» which demand different and more difficult tasks of you. There’s also, for the first time in the series, two-player multiplayer, offering up four of the single-player minigames for head-to-head competitive play. In cops and robbers, you take on the roles of Sly and his lady-in-chasing, Carmelita Fox. The player in control of Sly must attempt to complete an objective, while Carmelita must try to kill Sly before he finishes this objective. Hackathon is a combat-esque duel inside the matrix, derived from the hacking minigame that Bentley frequently uses in the story mode of the game. Biplane duel and galleon duel are dogfights and ship fights, respectively. Although it’s nice to see a change of pace from the traditional platformer fare, not one of these duels seems particularly compelling for the long term, since the most competition you’ll get is from one other player. But it is nice to have a change of pace available regardless.
Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves continues the series’ trend by providing more content and more players to work with. Although the 3D gimmick was a bust, the gameplay is good in spite of it, and you should enjoy the variety of scenarios in the game’s many missions. The story mode is rich and entertaining, but at times excessive, so if you’ve not been a fan of it before, it might prove to be overwhelming in this iteration. Overall, the game’s charm goes far beyond its presentation, making it one of the more interesting platformers to come out since Sly 2. If you like platform games, you can’t go wrong by checking out Sly 3.

Третья часть — самая длинная и разнообразная из всех, это уже не платформер, а целый стелс-экшен с выполнением заданий. Но платина в игре такая же простая, как и в предыдущих частях, более того, в игре теперь нет бутылок вообще, так что собирательных трофеев нет, кроме трофея за монетки.
В игре шесть эпизодов и после прохождения, сбора монеток и покупки нужных способностей вам останется только пройти испытания, чтобы получить трофеи за 75 и 100% прохождения игры. Покупать все способности для 100% не нужно.
Монетки
Монетки как и во второй части копятся до бесконечности и не сбрасывается при достижении отметки в 100. Способности покупаются за эти монетки в магазине. Даже если вы начнёте копить монетки с самого начала игры, то к середине игры вас раскрутят почти на все ваши накопления для покупки сюжетных способностей.
Не заморачивайтесь на монетках вообще, в пятом эпизоде вы получите пиратский корабль и возможность плавать по морям, в которых будут просто кучи пиратских кораблей, на которые вы сможете нападать и грабить. Корабль зачищается за несколько минут, при этом вы получаете от 300-600 монет.

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves
Bigger, stronger, and faster, but still a little rough around the edges.
Sly may still have his name in the title, but the emphasis this time around is more on the cast of characters as a whole. This leads to the upside that there are many more things to do. Sly 2 was no slouch in the ADD approach to game design, but Sly 3 ups the ante a little further in that the pace is more varied with different objectives adding new flavors as the game goes on. The only downside is that the game takes a little while to build up to the frantic action of the later levels that makes the whole approach so rewarding.
Don’t mess with Sly, he’ll claw your platforms out.
Starting out, the gang is down to just two characters: Sly, a raccoon thief, and Bentley, a brainy turtle who is the mastermind. At the end of Sly 2, Bentley was horribly mangled and has ended up confined to a wheelchair. Of course, this wheelchair has a jet pack to float around and can do some wicked spin attacks. Murray is absent because he blamed himself for Bentley getting hurt and has gone off on a spiritual quest that led him to start wandering around the globe.
With Sly wanting to get into his family vault that is being defended by a maniacal genius who is trying to break in, the need to expand the gang emerges. This means getting Murray back in the first mission and adding on even more characters in the four missions after that. This leads to the gang getting larger and the game getting more interesting later on.
In the meantime, Sly 3 is instantly familiar to those who played Sly 2. Each mission takes place in a single large environment filled with guards and Sly and Bentley both have the ability to sneak around and pickpocket their foes for a few coins or a high-priced item (while Murray can wander about and beat up thugs for the coins that fall out of them). That’s really just for kicks, though, as the free-roaming is best left to Sly and Bentley as they steal their way to fortune so that the whole gang can buy new abilities for themselves.
Upon leaving the gang’s headquarters in each new level, players can see indicators that show where a mission is currently available and who is needed in order to start it. Thankfully, there are far fewer mission starts that require trekking across a huge level as happened last time. This time around there is a lot less of the clock used up wandering about trying to find the next spot or just get a decent amount of cash. Overall, this approach has streamlined the game down to a more reasonable 12 hours or so for the story mode.
Going beyond different missions for different characters, individual missions can see two or more characters being controlled in a «hot potato» design. The gang fills out to a healthy seven characters and a few times even Carmelita, Sly’s nemesis and love interest, gets to be playable. The regular variety of the game let the designers cut loose so that a normal Sly section would be followed up by some RC helicopter action straight into playing as an Australian guru mind-controlling guards and smashing them into walls.
This time we see a bar fight where control swaps from Bentley to Murray to Sly for the finishing moves. The camera simply leaves one character for another and the action keeps on going. It’s as if it was all some big action movie and being limited to one character is just silly. As for Carmelita, she gets to be controlled a few times when there’s a mutual enemy who needs to be shot. Her dedication to bringing Sly to justice, however, remains constant.
All of the opportunities that are laid out here ensure that more ideas can be thrown at the TV screen and at a faster pace. Rarely do any of the tricks get repeated and if they do it’s only because another idea has been implemented to use it in a new way. But with the quantity comes the issue of quality control and as such, there are some occasions where the mini-games feel a bit too «mini» or unbalanced or just not quite fleshed out enough yet. For all the guru’s quirkiness and funny scenes he’s still an awkward character when it comes to mind-control. There are also some RC car racing scenarios that don’t provide enough of a diversion to justify their inclusion.
But one of the most disappointing aspects is that there’s not too much difficulty in the challenges here. As a whole, this adventure is aimed at a bit of a younger audience that might want a bit less of a challenge. To provide some replay value the Master Thief challenges have returned but even these are mostly a cakewalk and repeat challenges in the game itself. The time limits and stronger attacks make for a few retries, but not that many. In just a couple hours I had knocked off the challenges and acquired the 100% for the right to brag.
Yeah, she’s a sassy one.
A similar feeling happens along with the two-player games that get unlocked. They’re nice to have and a good bit of fun to play for an hour or so, but not much that will be worth looking back on or digging into. The amount of options here are generous and varied, but still don’t quite propel the game to greatness.
If the individual elements are a mixed bag, the game as a whole has developed further in terms of the overall story. The boss battles are bigger and more interesting than before and each of them has a solid motivation for his actions. We even meet one character whose greatest enemy turns out to be «himself» as he enters into an introspective dialogue that lends new depth to the series.
And as mentioned earlier, the last couple levels are worth all of the work that led up to them. Later on, the gang heads out to some Caribbean islands, pirate territory, to find some buried treasure and end up fighting battles both on land and sea. Some classic elements from both Pirates! and The Secret of Monkey Island have been brought in here and are brilliantly updated. With plenty of seafaring and adventuring this is easily the longest mission in the game and almost worthy of becoming a new project unto itself. The last mission is well worth it for some tricky platforming challenges, but it was definitely hard to leave this colorful world and move on.
Speaking of colorful, there’s also the option to play parts of the game with some goofy-looking 3D glasses. Make no mistake, anyone who walks by will make some stupid joke about how they look and fall down laughing at their own brilliance. It happened over and over again at the office and nobody caught on that they all made the same joke. But the extra bit of depth is a nice trick for a little bit. It’s nothing to write home about and they can make your eyes hurt if you wear them too long, but it’s a nice touch.

Exploits [ ]
An Opera of Fear [ ]
This exploit is not for a first time playthrough. In «Police HQ,» when Carmelita is outside shooting at Sly, use Feral Pounce and your paraglider to make it onto land. You can skip the platforming section of the mission and run straight to where you meet Murray at the sewers. Carmelita will also catch up to you, however she will act as if you are platforming. And as long as you are in range of her pistol, she will shoot at you.
During the final phase of «Guard Duty,» once the third coffee shop’s alarm activates, travel to a secluded area on the map. Some effective places are the docks next to the Interpol HQ building, as well as Octavio’s stage. Until Bentley and Sly retreat back to the Safe house, endless waves of rooftop guards will attack the two, so this is a fun, engaging way to farm for coins. If you want, you can even find a safe place to hide and just have Sly kill the enemies for you, as he is invincible during this section and cannot be killed, although you may have to manually collect any dropped coins yourself.
Rumble Down Under [ ]
In the job «Hungry Croc,» guards will endlessly come to you. Simply kill as many as you want and collect the coins before finishing the mission. There is a Master Thief Challenge where this is the object of the challenge.
Flight of Fancy [ ]
Using Sly, get to the Baron’s castle, and smash the boxes on top. Then, catapult off the roof’s catapult. Wait for about two seconds, then paraglide back to the castle’s roof. The boxes you just smashed will be there, and you can smash them again. Repeat as necessary.
A Cold Alliance [ ]
While fighting General Tsao during the second half of «Laptop Retrieval,» when Tsao hits the ground after being attacked, it is possible to use Stealth Slam or Silent Obliteration to take him out. This is easiest if Tsao is pinned against a wall and the knockout dive is used. The juggling of Tsao will not hurt him much, but the killing move will instantly kill him.
During the first official part of «Vampiric Demise,» when Bentley is teaching the Panda King how to use his firework rockets, instead of following Bentley’s instructions to kill the practice vampires, simply kill one of them over and over. Each time one of the vampires dies, it will drop coins and instantly respawn, so this is an easy way to farm infinite coins. These vampires are not hostile, so you don’t need to worry about getting attacked. Just be aware of how close you are to them when they die, as they explode upon death and deal major splash damage.
Dead Men Tell No Tales [ ]
After the job «X Marks the Spot,» you can go around battling pirate ships. One pirate ship gets you about 300 coins.

Cheat codes will not affect trophies.

Note: Once activated, the code will be active for ALL SAVES on the memory card, however, upon restarting the console the code is no longer active, and any tampering done using the code will only effect the save the tampering was done on. For example, if you started a new game, activated the code, then as a result started the episode A Cold Alliance. Next you restart your console. Now in the episode menu there would only be the episodes up to A Cold Alliance available (Dead Men Tell No Tales, Honor Among Thieves would now be absent from the menu), and all galleries, bonus videos and jobs would now be hidden away again unless the code was input once again.
Glitches [ ]
Multiple episodes [ ]
This may take several tries, but there is a glitch with Murray, where you can toss a guard off a ledge, then quickly use his stomp move to grab them after they do their falling animation.
While playing as Bentley, use the Reduction Bomb or Size Destabilizer on Carmelita. She will shrink, but otherwise she will behave normally. When you attack her she will fall on the ground as if she was dead. However, when you exit the chapter or die she will respawn. When you are in Venice when Carmelita is knocked out, bomb her until she gets to the water trap. Then use the switch and she will drown.
Hacking job glitch
No disguise required
There are three missions in the game which require you to wear your disguise, however, it is possible to be normal Sly instead.
Grapple-Cam safe house glitch
When using the Grapple-Cam gadget, you are able to enter the safe-house without Sly or Murray inside. This can only be done in Episodes 1-5, due to episode 6 not having free roam.
Carmelita pickpocket glitch
In Episode 1, 3, or 4, go to Carmelita as Bentley, go behind her, pickpocket her if necessary, and throw a bomb into her pouch. Then switch over to Sly. As Sly, go behind Carmelita to pickpocket the bomb. The bomb won’t go off, but Carmelita will detect your presence.
To perform this glitch you must select Bentley. First you sleep dart an enemy then you get close enough to toss a regular bomb (NOT a Trigger Bomb) into the goon’s pocket. If the enemy falls onto his back, the bomb will still go into the goon’s pocket, but not kill him. This works anywhere.
An Opera of Fear [ ]
When you are in Venice, jump up to the building that is right across from the Safe House’s entrance (the one that borders the water). If you are on the correct building, you will see some more buildings on the other side of the water. If you try to paraglide to the other side, Sly will act as if it is a barrier, your paraglider will break, and Sly will act like he is dying from a high spot. Instead of losing one-fourth of your health, you will instead die completely, and respawn at your last interaction point.
Walking on air glitch
After completing Venice, if you return to the episode you can go to where Octavio’s stage used to be. There was a rope attached to the stage before it was destroyed and you were able to run on this rope with Sly. The rope disappears when the stage is destroyed, however, Sly can still run where the rope was as if the rope was still there. The blue stars will still appear there also, but the rope is gone.
Grapple-Cam spotlight glitch
This is a very fun glitch the first time you try it. Using the Coffeehouse Break-In glitch as Bentley, launch a Grapple-Cam, and then access it. Grapple to the spotlight (where it projects the spot light). The spotlight will immediately go haywire and try to shoot the Grapple-Cam, but will not work; instead, it will shoot randomly around the place, smashing paintings, tables, and plants. Beware, however, that this haywire spotlight can hit you, and if you stand still, the spotlight will eventually kill you.
There is another glitch involved with the coffeehouses. When you use Grapple-Cam and go to the ceiling in the second coffeehouse, your Grapple-Cam will eventually go through the ceiling and you’ll be able to see the outsides of all 3 coffeehouses. It is also possible to visit each coffeehouse with the Grapple-Cam. Self-Destruct the Grapple-Cam to fix the glitch. The glitch is repeatable, and very fun!
Carmelita spots you from a long distance
During the job «Police HQ,» when you’re near Dimitri’s cell, set off a smoke bomb. Despite the fact that Carmelita is all the way over in the other room, she will still detect Sly, resulting in a job fail!
Sly cracks a safe in style and no slideshow
Octavio interrupts a guard’s question
During «Octavio Snap,» when Octavio is running to his next tar valve, get in front of him and find a guard in his path. Put on your disguise and have the guard ask you for a password, if Octavio passes by, you’ll see the cutscene bars appear and you can’t press any buttons. The camera will eventually turn to Octavio and he’ll tell you about how thieves knew how not to get caught back in the day, causing a mission failure.
Rumble Down Under [ ]
While on the mission «Big Truck» there is a glitch that allows the player to free-roam Ayers Rock as Sly due to incomplete programming. To perform this glitch you must first catch the first set of Giant Scorpions after Sly activates the drill. Then, when you have to climb to the top of the drill as Sly, climb it as normal. Instead of activating the drill as usual, use the Feral Pounce move, hit the X button on mid-pounce, and then paraglide as far as you can. If done correctly, you should be able to free-roam the area. You can kill Scorpions in one hit, but they can hit you back for moderate damage. Also going too close to the lake will cause you to temporarily go into the Falling animation. The only way to get back to the drill is to die.
Hungry Croc softlock
In the job «Hungry Croc,» if the player picks up an enemy right before the cutscene where Bentley tells Murray about the flashlight guard, when the cutscene concludes Murray will briefly be holding an invisible enemy. This is corrected shortly after. The rest of the mission will progress as normal, until Murray has to throw the guard to the crocodile. The crocodile will fail to spawn, and the thrown enemy will turn invisible after approximately one second after being thrown. This is a softlock, which prompts the user to restart the console.
Flight of Fancy [ ]
If you play as Murray and use the Ball technique, you can launch yourself out of the catapult and on to a blimp. Build up height while on the blimp using the jump with the Ball technique. Once you are high enough and you are close to the water near your Safe House is, stay in the ball and jump all the way down to the water. You will fall all the way through the floor of the game and you will die automatically.
Black Baron castle glitch
The first time that Bentley gets up onto the top of the Baron’s castle, go to the trapdoor and run into the wall. There is a chance that you will fall into the room where the Baron is talking with his rabbit goon. You will not be seen, and you can kill the goon, but not the Baron. The only way out is to blow yourself up with Bentley’s bombs.
Select Murray or Bentley. When you get out of the Safe House, turn right and you will see a streetlight. Run into it from behind. You will get stuck between the building and the pole. Turn around and you will be launched into the air. If you get launched high enough, you’ll be able to see the hacking mini game high in the air.
Floating bench glitch
After you beat the entire game, go back to free-roam in Holland. This glitch only works with Murray. Exit the Safe House and jump off the balcony. Directly in front of you there should be a bench. Pick it up and head to the closest cheese jump. Jump onto the cheese while slamming the bench towards the ground. Re-enter the Safe House. From there, exit the Safe House as Murray once again. There is a chance that the bench you picked up will be floating around between the balcony and the nearby building. You can jump on the bench and it will move around like in space. You can destroy it and it will disappear. If you go back into the Safe House and come out as Sly, the bench will have vanished completely and not be on the ground or in the air. The only way to get the bench to reappear is to die, re-enter the Safe House and come out as Bentley, or exit the level.
A Cold Alliance [ ]
You must go to Jobs and Challenges and then select the first job. After the battle starts, throw two smoke bombs and then use the photographer disguise. After the smoke fades away, Panda King will act like a goon. If you repeat it correctly, he will not attack until you take off the disguise.
Sly waits for the pull in style
In «Grapple-Cam Break-In,» when Sly has to get in position for «the pull,» put on a disguise before you reach where you have to stand. When you get to the Sly icon, a cutscene will start and Sly will still be in his disguise. When you take control of Bentley, go over to where Sly is waiting, he’ll still have it on! After Bentley gets the first key, control switches to Sly in his disguise. You must take it off before you can pickpocket the second key.
Invisible talking Sly
While in the job «Vampiric Demise,» if you jump just right in front of Sly while he finishes opening the last cache, he will not be invisible, but he will jump off the roof and the conversation occurs as if Sly is still on the roof.
In «Big Air in China,» if the second waypoint is hit by Murray at a certain angle, he will go inside the trapdoor, into a room no bigger than Murray. He cannot escape this room, so must either reset the challenge or wait until time runs out.
Dead Men Tell No Tales [ ]
In order to do this glitch you need Bentley. Go to the place you meet Blackspot Pete. Go up to the flagpole, there will be a ramp. With Bentley attempt to run under the ramp facing the bridge. After a second or two you will slip underneath the ramp and will be launched a little ways.
Lizard voice glitch
In the mission «X Marks the Spot,» head to the area on the island with the near-sighted lizards. Next, wear your pirate disguise and approach one of the lizards. You will most likely have to physically touch them, as the lizards have very poor eyesight. Once alerted, the lizards will act like a regular guard, even speaking to you like one of the guards. They will not attack you until your disguise is removed.
Bring a captain onto your ship
After destroying a hostile ship and before capturing it, you can move the hostile ship with your own. Doing that eventually resolves in the captain dropping on your ship. After that, flee. The captain will remain on the ship.
Go to «The Talk of Pirates» and get to the point where Sly needs to take Cantankerous Tim’s hat from Twitchy Ned. Very rarely, Twitchy Ned will be asleep on the deck of ship rather than in the crow’s nest. This is because Twitchy Ned sleeps in the crow’s nest, and the sleeping animation doesn’t entirely fit (Twitchy Ned can be seen visibly clipping through it with the binocucom) and he could slide out of the crow’s nest. If attacked, he will fight back (despite not having swords). If you hit him, he will react the same way Twitchy Ned would and wouldn’t actually take damage. If the player goes up the sails into the crow’s nest, a new Twitchy Ned would be in it, and he would jump down like normal, but the original «Glitchy Ned» would still be on the ground, sleeping or continuing to attack the player. This is the only video of the glitch.
Honor Among Thieves [ ]
In the job «Carmelita to the Rescue,» play through the job all the way to the third phase. When the Mutant Primate jumps on to the rock, jump on to Mutant Primate itself. Now you need to keep jumping to stay on the Mutant Primate until you get launched high enough to go over the invisible barrier behind the Mutant Primate. Once over the barrier, mega jump over to the piece of land where the job «Beginning of the End» ended. Now you can explore the island even more than Sly because of the ability to mega jump. You can visit the Cooper Vault entrance, the Cooper gang’s pirate ship, and even the tower that leads to Dr. M’s lab. While exploring, you’ll notice that both entrances to Dr. M’s lab are closed off and collapsed and some alligator mutant guards will spawn and sometimes die immediately after spawning. Take advantage of the alligator mutant guards as they are your only way to get health back. There are some areas that you can visit with mega jumping that you won’t be able leave, like the race track or the Cooper gang’s pirate ship as you won’t have enough height to leap over. Dying will restart the job, taking you back to the police boat.
Exploring the Island as Sly
Carmelita in the Inner Sanctum
When fighting Dr. M as Sly, if you hit him while Dr. M is trying to rush at you (Dr. M has to be using his fire type attacks) he will fall onto his back and Sly is will go through the attacked animation. In the cutscene, where Sly and Dr. M talk, Sly will be facing sideways and Dr. M robotic snake head will be inside of him. When playing as Carmelita, Dr. M’s life gauge will be gone but you can still defeat him. Once defeated instead of being another cutscene, you will be able to move around the platform, but you can’t jump high enough to reach the platform Sly is at. If you fall off the platform you will be stuck at the bottom with no way out. The only way to stop this glitch is to exit the level.
Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves
We’ve never quite been able to get our heads round why Europe spurns the lovable Sly Raccoon games. They’re among the finest platformers to grace any platform (never mind the PS2), more than holding their own against the esteemed Jak and Ratchet titles. Full of wry wit, charm, slick playability, wonderful visuals and top class production values, they should be routinely grazing the top end of the charts.
Which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Normally, by the time the third game in a series arrives (on the same platform, in less than four years), we’re slightly bored of running over the same ground. Not so with Sly and the gang. There’s something heart-meltingly endearing about each of their adventures; it’s the gaming equivalent of Scooby Doo or Danger Mouse. You know roughly how it’s all going to play out, and the formula is so well worn that it’s hardly going to inspire yelps of surprise from the household pets. But when a game manages to deliver 15, 20 or more hours of satisfying entertainment, we’re strangely happy to get more of the same.
Band on the run
As with the superb second game, each ‘episode’ takes place in a hub-style environment where nine or so ‘jobs’ must be undertaken in order to progress. In terms of the feel and the formula, the gameplay hasn’t really changed. In fact, the opening Venice-based level is almost a carbon copy of one of the latter stages of Sly 2, which tends to suggest the game’s quick turnaround involved a fair amount of corner-cutting.
Sly return
Once again, each episode opens with a brief overview from nerd-central Bentley, giving you a whistle-stop tour of the plan at hand with a quick rundown of what each character’s supposed to do. Not everything goes to plan, of course, but on the whole you’ll play for the majority of the time as Sly, while the remaining missions are split evenly between Murray and Bentley (later, you even play as a variety of other characters, without wishing to spoil it).
Exactly like last time, each character has their own unique characteristics and abilities, and all are upgradeable. These are bought with the cash you harvest from broken objects and downed aggressors, but by far the most effective means of building up a stack of loot is to sneak up behind your target and pluck their coinage from the little pouches that dangle from their behinds. Some upgrades are obligatory, so it’s always worth picking pockets and smashing up anything that looks fragile.
Comic capers
From a technical standpoint, it’s just as lavish as it ever was, with that living-breathing cel-shaded comic book feel that no-one else has carried off with such aplomb. Every character has a bunch of cute distinctive touches that add to the experience; not just in terms of the little animations at which Sucker Punch excels, but the little audio flourishes that underpin everything the game does. From the first episode onward there are little interchanges that you feel like you’re eavesdropping on, from characters singing away to themselves or snatches of conversation. Such things add so much colour to a game, and it’s an area so few titles bother with.
Given that almost everything about Sly 3 seems practically unchanged since the last time out to begin with, it’s a pleasant surprise to find that there’s actually much more to it than initially meets the eye. It’s absolutely rammed with mini-games, for a start, with all manner of driving, shooting, sniping, chasing, and flying interludes breaking up any remote chance of the game settling into a monotonous groove. In the main they’re top-drawer examples of how to turn a bog-standard platformer into a bewildering pot pourri of game styles. Some might find the ‘here-comes-the-mini-game’ parade a little wearisome, and wish Sucker Punch could just focus on platforming, but we enjoyed almost every one of these interludes. They’re consistently well-paced, never outstay their welcome and add much needed variety.
Cooper trooper
The presence of four individual Two Player challenges is another throwaway-but-welcome new addition. First up, you get a Cops and Robbers split-screen mode where one player controls Sly and the other takes charge of Carmelita Fox, with Sly trying to nick stuff in a Capture The Flag manner while Carmelita has to stop him. Nothing much to see here. After that, there’s a co-op Hackathon game, where both of you control little spaceships while wave upon wave of attackers swarm you. Very Robotron, very retro, very throwaway. Next! Biplane Duel and Galleon Duel are, again, hardly essential unlockables, offering little in the way of long-term excitement. Are they nice to have anyway? Hmm, we could live without them.
One new addition we haven’t mentioned yet that’s pretty much entirely pointless is the ‘3D’ mode, which lets players don 1950’s 3D specs and get a headache while items of scenery pop out in front of their eyes. Given the fact that it’s not compulsory, we probably shouldn’t complain too much, but the effect isn’t that great (it never has been, has it?), and it arguably only serves to put you off what you’re doing. After a couple of sessions with it, you’ll most likely just get on with playing the game the way your eyes can actually deal with. You’ll save yourself a headache, at the very least.
More greatness
Given that most people around these parts never bought either of the first two Sly games, pointing out that the third one is kind of more of the same will be a bit lost on you. More useful, perhaps, is to simply point out that it’s up there with the best platformers ever made.

Bentley: So according to these decrypted files, Octavio is pumping tar from underneath the foundations of buildings, so he can sink them into the canals on a whim! He’s going to demonstrate this destructive ability to the people of Venice during his opera recital on the first day of Carnevale. To counter this threat, we’ll first destroy the balloons and sign advertising the recital. If no one shows up, he’ll have no reason to sink a building. Next, the blueprints to the main tar vacuum have been cleverly split into three parts and hidden in local coffee houses owned by Octavio. Unfortunately, they’re under constant guard, so you’ll need to use a disguise to get us inside. Also, some big Vincenetti goons have been called in as «insurance» for the recital. Given their size, I think it’s prudent to fool Carmelita’s ape mercenaries into taking them out for us. And finally, we’ll have to convince Murray into taking to the field. If he’s learned the Aboriginal Ball Form, it’ll be just the thing for destroying the local tar reservoirs.
Bentley: Any problems with that guy? Sly: Said he wanted to be buried in his mom’s pasta sauce. Bentley: Yeah. That’s, uh. That’s strange. [Sly opens the door and Bentley goes inside] Sly: You know, I just can’t get it out of my head. Have you ever had pasta sauce that tasty? I don’t want to distract you or anything, but I just don’t think I’ve ever had cooking that good. Are we missing out on a universe of flavors? Sly: That explosive had some kick! Bentley: It was a child compared to this ferocious beast. Don’t dilly-dally with this one, it’s got a longer fuse but you’ve got farther to run. Sly: «Ferocious beast»? Bentley: Run, Sly! Run! Fear the beast! Sly: Put my friend down or I’m going to knock out all your teeth, one at a time, and make you eat ’em. Don Octavio: Oh! Is that-a the best you got? Back in my day, we had enforcers that would make people-a pee their pants just by-a looking at ’em.
Bentley: With Octavio’s comeback opera recital just a few hours away, we’re all set up for the main event. Get ready for Operation – Tar-Be Gone! Our objective – get Murray back on the team. Sly, you’ll start things off by using your disguise to sneak into the opera house. Make your way to the pump room, and let me in through the side entrance. Thanks to the blueprints we stole, I now know just where to bomb to cripple the machinery, then we’ll go for Octavio’s detonation switch. I’m sure you’d agree that we just can’t leave a weapon that powerful in the hands of such a madman, so I’ll distract the old mobster with an opera duel. He’s sure not to attack while we’re both on stage. Meanwhile, you’ll cut the lines to the chandelier and drop it on his head! I’ll swipe the switch and we’ll both find Murray. By then, the black water is sure to be running clear and he’ll be free to come with us.
Sly: It’s over, Octavio. You’re beat. Give us the demolition switch and we’ll all try to ditch these cops. Octavio: [pulls out the demolition switch] You chasin’ me fuh this! Fine big shot. It took me 6 months to prepare this-a thing, but what the hey? I got more where this came from. Murray: You guys see that boat go out of control and jump and smash into that thing? Destruction! So cool! Octavio: You think that was «cool» punk? Heh-hee-heh. [pushes the button and several buildings collapse] Ha-ha-ha. ack. hack! [approaches Bentley] Bentley: You monster! Stop it! Stop it!! [Octavio kicks Bentley] Sly: Murray, I need your help. I’ve never seen someone move that fast. Octavio’s old, but he’s still got it. Let’s take him together. Murray: But… but. I vowed to my Guru that I’d renounce all violence… and the water is still black! Sly: It’ll be clear any minute, trust me. Now let’s take him! Octavio: You’re right to be scared, Hippo. Your wheelchair friend shoulda been so smart. Bentley: Murray… help. Murray: [gets angry and rips off his necklace] That does it! I’ll floss my teeth with your spine! [jumps down and punches Octavio] «The Murray» returns!
Sly: [narrating] With the fight over, we went back and scraped Bentley off the pavement. It was touch and go for a while there, but we managed to sneak out right under Carmelita’s nose. Octavio wasn’t so lucky. The guy got 30 years behind bars for what he did to Venice. I guess Italians don’t like it when you sink their landmarks. Ironically, he found success as a singer while in jail. After all, most of his old fanbase was already in the clink… but the big score here was bringing our old pal back into the gang. Once he put on those gloves and that mask, it was clear to everyone, most of all him, that «The Murray» had returned.
Rumble Down Under [ edit ]
Bentley: The Guru has agreed to join our team! Provided we can rid his homeland of the dingo miners and deal with the Mask of Dark Earth. A tall order, but we’re up for it. First we’ll enlist the aid of some local wildlife to help «thin» out the miners ranks. Murray will feed our foes to a local giant crocodile. With some luck, he’ll take a liking to the taste of miners and chow down on them left and right! Second, we’ll hit these guys where they live, or at least relax. If we can clear ’em out of this lemonade bar, it’ll be a crippling blow to their morale. They’ll be begging to go home. And finally, Sly’ll use some mining equipment to drill for radioactive oil deep beneath the dried lakebed. Trust me, it’s the key to getting rid of the Mask of Dark Earth.
Bentley: Time we subtracted a few miners from the equation. Murray: You know I don’t understand that math talk! Bentley: Uh, we need to, uh. «put the smackdown» on these uh. «bad dudes». «for justice». Murray: Righteous! I’m the man for the job! Bentley: The Guru will start luring miners to a position near this giant crocodile. Your job is to throw the thugs into the mouth of the monster. Murray: Teach him to like eating miners, huh? That’s a sinister plan, Bentley. I approve! Bentley: With some luck, the oversized reptile will be an invaluable asset in our efforts to drive away the miners. He might even take care of our Mask of Dark Earth problems. I’ve spotted it prowling near the safe house. Murray: Roger. It’s feedin’ time!
Bentley: Drat! We can’t stop the operation now. We’ll just have to give her a wide berth. Sly: Roger, applying «wide berth». Bentley: Quit horsing around and look out for the mask. It’s close. I can feel it.
Sly: [narrating] Carmelita just lay there, unconscious, helpless on the desert floor. Being «gentlemen», we kept watch over her throughout the night. Her camera proved to be a real source of entertainment as we took turns posing. Didn’t want her to go home empty handed. Morning broke, and we got a clear view of the landscape. It was beautiful, empty of the miners that had been digging and drilling into the sacred place. The moment was broken as Carmelita began to stir, and we prepared for another quick exit. Only this time, it wasn’t just the 3 of us. For the first time in Cooper Gang history, we picked up a new member, and the team would never be the same.
Flight of Fancy [ edit ]
Bentley: Okay, fellas. According to the ACES flight lineup, we’ll be flying against Team Iceland and Team Belgium in tomorrow’s semifinal round. As you’re all aware, we’ve only got a single plane, while our opponents will be flying 15 apiece. You got that guys? That’s 30 to 1 odds against us. In order to give us a fighting chance, we’ll need to pin these two teams against each other. First, Murray and Sly will paddle through the sewers beneath town to get access to an air vent leading into Team Iceland’s hotel room. Steal one of their trademark Viking helmets, then head over to Team Belgium’s hangar. Vandalize one of their aircraft, then plant the helmet in order to frame Team Iceland for the damage. Next, Murray and I will steal one of Team Belgium’s monogrammed handkerchiefs. Meanwhile, the Guru will break into the Team Iceland supply truck carrying their lucky ice sculpture. Sly will steal the art, and then place the handkerchief insinuating Team Belgium for the crime. Get it? We frame both teams so they’ll be gunning for each other and not Sly in the semifinals! All the while, I’ll be setting up defenses around the Team Cooper air hangar. You never know when one of the other teams might come looking to do us some harm.
Bentley: You’re a heck of a woman, Penelope. Penelope: I know. That’s what my homepage says.

Bentley: A-ha, I think I’ve found something. His diary mentions a secret passage through the prayer bell, then a «walk across the heavens». You getting this, Sly? Sly: I’m en route to the bell right now. Bentley: Better bring along the Guru. This sounds like his department.
Tsao: Ah, the famous Sly Cooper. It seems you and your little gang were able to follow the trail I left for you. Of course, you’ll be helpless without them, as you’ll soon discover. Sly: I’m not ashamed to rely on my friends. Tsao: Who needs friends when you can have servants? Who needs affection when you can have obedience? Ah, why try to convince you when I can simply destroy you? This sacred forest has been the stage for hundreds of battles, as my ancestors crushed anyone who got in their way, and you will be no different. Sly: Bentley, are you hearing this? What’s he talking about? Bentley: I’ve heard of these types of battlegrounds before. The energy from all the fighting that has gone on before strengthens the combatants, allowing them to soar for long distances. You should be able to fly all the way across the arena with one jump! Plus, you can probably change directions in the air with your double jump. Tsao: Enough chit-chat, Cooper! Face me now, and prepare for the end of your legacy. [Sly defeats Tsao in the first round and falls to the ground below. Tsao laughs.] Sly: Come back and take it like a man! [jumps down after Tsao] Tsao: Well done, «esteemed wedding photographer». I’m impressed you’ve lasted this long. Sly: Stop this, Tsao. Release Jing King and this fight can end. Tsao: No! Jing King is mine. Once our bloodlines cross, it shall be glorious. The Panda King, in his day, was magnificent. With the Tsao name, a new generation of Kings will be unstoppable! Sly: But she doesn’t want to marry you! Tsao: She’s a woman, she doesn’t know up from down. Once I «convinced» her father to take up meditation, she was ripe for the picking. Sly: I’ve faced a lot of bad men in my time, but you, sir, are the worst. Tsao: Oh, it gets worse, Cooper. Up until now, I’ve gone easy on you, but now. now you’ll sample the ancient black arts of the family Tsao! Tsao: You have won this battle, but the war rages on! [hands over Bentley’s laptop] Take your foolish computer. It won’t help you. Jing King is mine. Sly: Jing King is a person, not property… and sorry, pal, but we’re ending this right now. [coughs after Tsao throws a smoke bomb and escapes] (Or not.) Tsao: Beware. beware the power of Tsao! Bentley: Thankfully, we’ve managed to retrieve the ThiefNet computer. However, all of the plans stored inside are now compromised! The wedding is still on. Jing King remains Tsao’s prisoner. Yes, we are going to free her, but that’s not enough. No, for this heist, we really need to put the screws to this guy. He’s earned it, so we’re cleaning out his treasury as well. A feat impossible without Murray’s van. Unfortunately, all that time in the ice has ruined its polycellular battery. I’ll need Sly’s help to acquire a new one, which won’t be easy, as the General’s gone all out with security. He’s even resorted to black magic dragons and hopping vampires patrolling the streets. We’ll need to even the odds before the wedding. Sly, you and the Panda King will work to gather some fireworks and blow up the vampires’ crypt. No crypt, no more vampires. Bentley: That’s it, one of Tsao’s firework stashes for the ceremony. Sly: This lock looks pretty standard, but I’ll need some help carrying the goods. Bentley: The Panda King is the man for the job, he’s strong, good with explosives and capable of dealing with multiple opponents. Once we get enough fireworks, he should be capable of blowing the hopping vampire crypt sky-high. Sly: Look, Bentley, I know you believe in the guy, but. I don’t trust him yet. Bentley: You don’t have a choice, he’s the only man for the job. I’ll go get him and send him your way. [Bentley meets up with the Panda King in his quarters] Bentley: This is it, Panda King. We need you for a field mission. Sly’s trying to break into a fireworks cache and he needs help. Panda King: Fine. I will be there presently. You may go. Bentley: Look, I don’t mind telling you I’m putting my neck on the line here. we’re all counting on you. Panda King: I. will mind your neck. [Bentley leaves; the Panda King heads to a mirror to talk with his inner self] Panda King: Hello, old friend. I’m about to work alongside Sly Cooper, and I cannot carry you with me on the journey. Inner Panda King: You fool! This is your chance for revenge! He humiliated us! Ruined us! Made us weak! Panda King: Humiliation was a crossroads. I have chosen to walk the path of humility. Inner Panda King: Humility that cost you your daughter! Destroy Cooper now! Panda King: [in his head] My mind is fractured. No action can be taken until he and I are in unison. Cooper is at the center. Sly must live. [a group of options is presented to the player] [if the player chooses «To help save Jing King»] Panda King: Without Cooper and his associates, I stand little chance of rescuing Jing King. Inner Panda King: Little chance?! Allow yourself to dip into my hateful fury, and we can save Jing King single-handed! Panda King: Such an action would cost many lives. Inner Panda King: Your path to moderation will cost you Jing King! [if the player chooses «So that you may live»] Panda King: Without Cooper, who would you have to hate? Your reason to cling inside my mind would be gone. Inner Panda King: No. If you killed Cooper, it would be you who would disappear. I would take your place! [if the player chooses «To teach us humility», the correct answer] Panda King: Cooper is a teacher of humility. We have slain his parents, yet he manages to trust us. By studying him, we will become whole. Inner Panda King: I have no desire to join with my weaker side. You are failure. I am the strength that used to be, the once glorious Panda King! Panda King: You are strong, and I am humble. but, only through cooperation will we become the father Jing King needs. Inner Panda King: The Yin and the Yang? Panda King: If strength were all that mattered, Tsao would be an ideal son-in-law. Inner Panda King: Very well, Cooper shall live. Panda King: Fear not, Cooper. I shall not kill you this day. Sly: Um. Ditto.
Sly: Hey, Murray. Tsao’s on his way to your position. How you coming with the treasure? Murray: We’re doing awesome! Stand aside, Penelope. Cannonball! Penelope: No, wait! Murray: Uh, oh…
Sly: [narrating] General Tsao had his wedding right on schedule. Everything was as he’d arranged. except the bride came as kind of a shock. Carmelita was a little disappointed it wasn’t me she busted at the alter, although I doubt she minded taking Tsao into custody. He did after all plague the streets with the undead. From what I hear, the locals were happy to see him go. We dropped off Jing King with her aunt. The Panda King insisted that she’d be safe there and that he needed to pay off his debt to the gang. I was still wary, but there was no denying that his skills would come in handy. Needless to say, we lived it up in the backstreets of Shanghai. Dead Men Tell No Tales [ edit ]
Bentley: Thanks to Black Spot Pete, we’ve got a lead on Reme Lousteau’s treasure. It’s buried somewhere on Dagger Island, a landmass many leagues from our current position. To make the voyage, we’ll need to steal a pirate ship from the harbor. No easy feat given the cutthroat nature of these. cutthroats. First, Murray and Sly will steal a jollyboat and blast the rudders off any ships that could chase us out into the open ocean. The action is sure to provoke the harbor patrol, so be prepared for a sea battle. With them out of the way, no one can stop us from leaving harbor. Meanwhile, Penelope and I will work together to break into LeFwee’s keep and steal the map to the buried treasure. Once both objectives are reached, we’ll steal a ship and set sail for Dagger Island, then it’ll be a simple matter of following the map and digging up the loot.
Bentley: I wish I could walk on tightropes and land on flagpoles, but I can’t. Penelope: You can do other stuff. Sly can’t rewire a satellite or write ASCII code. Bentley: Sly can’t even spell ASCII.
Sly: [narrating] LeFwee was beat, outsmarted by our own resident genius who’d done more than just rescue a team member, he’d won himself. a girlfriend. It was nice to hear ’em talk. They’d have these conversations the rest of us couldn’t even follow. Far as I could tell, they were made for each other. Dimitri was in love too. The new diving gear had gone to his head. We were «informed» that he’d be our new frogman for the Cooper Vault job… not that any of us had even asked him. For the first time in memory, Carmelita didn’t show up and cart everyone to jail. Aw, well. I’ll send her a postcard. You know, I’d hate for her to feel left out.

Dr. M: You harpy witch! Why are the police invading my home? Carmelita: I’m here to see that justice is done. Dr. M: Justice? I’m the victim here, defending what’s mine from thieves! Carmelita: Looked to me like you were attempting to murder that man. Dr. M: «That man». Please, you know this is Sly Cooper. You’re as transparent as you are narrow-minded. Carmelita: Cooper is a criminal. I’m here to bring him and all lawbreakers to justice. Dr. M: I’m no lawbreaker, it was all self-defense! Carmelita: First things first, put Cooper down and we’ll talk terms. Dr. M: Sorry, madam cop, I don’t trust you as far as I can throw you. Although, I can throw you a long long way. [turns to his mutant] Go and smash that woman. Crush her bones to paste and toss her into the sea where no one will ever find her. [Carmelita and the mutant sail away on the police boat.] Now to find that cane. I can’t believe this idiot just brought it to me. Poor fool, he looks just like his father. and he’s just as dead. Bentley: [discover Sly unconscious] Sly!? [to the team] He’s over here! He’s still breathing…? He’s alive! [to Sly] Hang in there, pal. You’re going to be okay. We’ll get you back to the ship and patch you up. Bentley: Sly’s gonna make it, although he’s suffered a major concussion. If he were up and about, I’m sure he’d want us to retrieve his family cane. Dimitri: Go grab the thing! Jump in, do the swim and take it. Legit, eh, my main man bro? Penelope: Won’t be that simple. That’s an electromagnetic buoy. Dr. M has set them up all around the island to snag approaching metal boats. We just lucked out that we came here in a wooden ship. Bentley: [to Dimitri] She’s right. Get too close, and your diving gear will magnetize to it.
Dimitri: [jumps back onto the ship] That rude dude threw down heavyweight. I had him solid, but he ran, baby! Ran, and now I’m flat nowhere! Penelope: You were. magnificent! Alone against the creature, trapped in an undersea cave. Dimitri: How about a kiss for my Monsieur Magnificento? My lips are warm like bread from the oven. Penelope: Slow down. Remember rules 1 and 2? Both of which told you to get over yourself. Dimitri: Both before my magnificence! Yum yum, give me some! Penelope: I’m gonna check on Bentley. You have fun being you. Dimitri: I’m «mag» to the «jag» to the «efficient», baby! [goes below deck] [Sly comes out.] Penelope: Sly, you’re up! Bentley: He should be back in bed after the thrashing he took. Another blow to the head and your brain could snap! Sly: Quit your worrying, I feel fine. Did Dimitri find my cane? Penelope: No. (Well, sort of… but. ) Dr. M managed to get away with it. Sly: Then we gotta go. Bentley: You’re going nowhere, pal. Any attempt on Dr. M or the Cooper Vault will be impossible with these radar towers linked to the missile turrets. Wait a second. Penelope, have you completed that work we talked about on your RC car? Penelope: Yeah. Oh, I see where your going. That’ll work! Smash the drones, siphon their power and fry the towers’ matrix. Bentley: Perfect. Let’s get your car onto a drone patrol pipe! Sly: Not to be too obvious in exposing my ignorance, but. what in the world are you two talking about? Penelope: Explaining it would include a lot of multisyllabic words, I could just show you. Sly Cooper: Bring on the demo. Penelope: Panda King, can you launch my RC car to that pipe? Panda King: Ha! With the fireworks, it will fly as the bird! [launches the RC car] Fly, bird! Fly! Bentley: Alright, my sweet princess of electronic dominance. Time to smash things up. Use the L2 button and the R2 button to activate your vehicle’s punchers. Knock the security drones off the track with your punchers and pick up their ball energy. Get enough, and I’ll open up the jump gate to the radar tower.

Банда Слая расширяется: теперь, помимо старых и хорошо знакомых нам героев, к ней примкнут и бывшие недруги. В первую очередь это означает, что под управление игроку теперь попадет еще больше народу, каждый не только со своим уникальным навыком, но и геймплеем: кто-то будет лучше чувствовать себя в ближнем бою, а кому то комфортней сражение с врагами на дальних дистанциях, при помощи дистанционно управляемых электронных устройств. Теперь в сюжетных миссиях будет участвовать сразу несколько человек и переключение между ними будет возможно в любой момент. Также в игру были добавлены дополнительные задания, которые станут хорошей проверкой ваших навыков в этой игре.
На этот раз, Слай поставил перед собой воистину невыполнимую задачу: проникнуть в сокровищницу своей семьи, расположенной на острове. Миссия кажется невыполнимой по очень простой причине: этот остров издавна оккупировал злой гений, известный как Доктор М, превратив ее в неприступную крепость.
Потихоньку прохожу сложность нелинейная. В основном всё жутко легко, но иногда в минииграх сложно, типа гонок на катерах.

Монетки как и во второй части копятся до бесконечности и не сбрасывается при достижении отметки в 100. Способности покупаются за эти монетки в магазине. Даже если вы начнёте копить монетки с самого начала игры, то к середине игры вас раскрутят почти на все ваши накопления для покупки сюжетных способностей.
Не заморачивайтесь на монетках вообще, в пятом эпизоде вы получите пиратский корабль и возможность плавать по морям, в которых будут просто кучи пиратских кораблей, на которые вы сможете нападать и грабить. Корабль зачищается за несколько минут, при этом вы получаете от 300-600 монет.
Способности
Несколько способностей вы купите по сюжету, остальные же я рекомендую купить в пятом эпизоде, когда вы наберёте достаточно денег от пиратской деятельности.

После того как вы пройдёте игру вам останутся испытания. Третья часть — самая длинная и разнообразная из всех, это уже не платформер, а целый стелс-экшен с выполнением заданий. Но платина в игре такая же простая, как и в предыдущих частях, более того, в игре теперь нет бутылок вообще, так что собирательных трофеев нет, кроме трофея за монетки.
В игре шесть эпизодов и после прохождения, сбора монеток и покупки нужных способностей вам останется только пройти испытания, чтобы получить трофеи за 75 и 100% прохождения игры. Покупать все способности для 100% не нужно.
Монетки
Монетки как и во второй части копятся до бесконечности и не сбрасывается при достижении отметки в 100. Способности покупаются за эти монетки в магазине. Даже если вы начнёте копить монетки с самого начала игры, то к середине игры вас раскрутят почти на все ваши накопления для покупки сюжетных способностей.
Не заморачивайтесь на монетках вообще, в пятом эпизоде вы получите пиратский корабль и возможность плавать по морям, в которых будут просто кучи пиратских кораблей, на которые вы сможете нападать и грабить. Корабль зачищается за несколько минут, при этом вы получаете от 300-600 монет.
Способности
Несколько способностей вы купите по сюжету, остальные же я рекомендую купить в пятом эпизоде, когда вы наберёте достаточно денег от пиратской деятельности.

Испытания
После того как вы пройдёте игру вам останутся испытания. Фактически это те же самые задания, что вы уже выполняли, но с дополнительным условием (не получить повреждений, пройти за время и т.п.), всё достаточно просто и в разъяснениях не нуждается. Трудности могут возникнут только с картами сокровищ, т.к. все подсказки там на английском.

В данной игре герои пытаются проникнуть в хранилище, в которое несколько поколений Куперов складывало ценности.
Игра является платформепом с элементами стелс-экшена. Игра включает 6 эпизодов и пролог, каждый из эпизодов, как и в Sly 2: Band of Thieves, представляет собой большой игровой уровень в котором персонажи выполняют различные задания. Наряду со Слаем, Бентли и Мюрреем в игру добавлено 4 новых игровых персонажа. На уровне нет сейфа и бутылок с подсказками, как это было в предыдущих частях, им на замену пришли экспертные миссии, которые отличаются от обычных игровых миссий повышенной сложностью. Система со здоровьем персонажей сходна с системой из предыдущей части. Как и в прошлой части монеты полученные за победу над врагами и разрушение окружения можно тратить на покупку усилений (англ. Gadgets) в воровской сети (англ. ThiefNet), причём усиливать можно только Слая, Бентли и Мюррея. Появилась возможность красть ценные предметы у врагов за Бентли и Мюррея, наряду со Слаем, причём больше не нужно их продавать в воровской сети, а деньги за них начисляют моментально. Система сражения с врагами и их уровень здоровья также перешли из предыдущей части. В миссии теперь может участвовать одновременно несколько персонажей, управление между которыми в нужный момент автоматически переключается. Количество мини игры возросло по сравнению с предыдущими частями, также они стали более разнообразными, здесь и воздушное сражение на самолётах, и морские сражения на кораблях, и поиск сокровища. Заходим в магазин, покупаем нужную способность, дожидаемся когда выпадет трофей, выходим из игры через кнопку PS.
В итоге трофей в кармане, а количество монет в игре не изменилось
1. Big air in China Бегемотику нужно запрыгнуть (используя скилл шар) на 3 высокие точки. Х нужно нажимать только когда совсем близко подлетаешь к земле и в это время начинать поворачивать стик в нужную для полета сторону. Если хоть немного задержаться с поворотом стика, бегемотик не долетит. На первый высокий дом проще всего запрыгнуть не с соседних домов, а со скалы, она справа от дома. а на последнюю гору запрыгнуть можно следующим образом, просто распрыгивайтесь около нее, и когда покажется край вершины жмёте Л1 чтобы этот бегемот распрямился и прыгаете в сторону уступа, в худшем случае он за него зацепится
2. Tsao Showdown. После того как босс китайский петух получил по щам в воздухе, бой перемещается на землю. Потратил почти час на этот челендж. Только после прохождения до меня дошло, что атака подземными руками сбивается комбинацией треугольник квадрат (слай крутится вокруг своей оси), а атака голова голубого волка сбивается просто квадратом. Можно еще спамить треугольник+круг, босс убивается быстро, эту спомобность нужно купить в магазине. Если уж совсем не проходится, можно добежать до конца уровня и в прямом смысле вбить его в стену-скалу.
3. Ultimate Gauntlet. Покупаете в магазине замедление и проходите с ним. становится намного проще. Есть моменты, где нужно зацепиться за крюк и подпрыгнуть вверх, проще всего делается если после прыжка включить парашют и пролететь вперед.
4. Battle against time. вторая фаза, когда босс пускает электирческие шары. Сразу сквозь них пролетаем комбинацией треугольник квадрат (слай крутится вокруг своей оси) и дальше спамим квадрат. Таким образом эта фаза проходится несколько секунд. В 3 фазе, когда босс начинает кидать огненные шары, бегаем вокруг него и шаров и спамим квадрат. Ему достаточно нескольких ударов, поэтому не стесняемся слегка поджаривать слая. Можно еще спамить треугольник+круг, босс убивается быстро, эту спомобность нужно купить в магазине.

Наряду со Слаем, Бентли и Мюрреем в игру добавлено 4 новых игровых персонажа. На уровне нет сейфа и бутылок с подсказками, как это было в предыдущих частях, им на замену пришли экспертные миссии, которые отличаются от обычных игровых миссий повышенной сложностью. Система со здоровьем персонажей сходна с системой из предыдущей части. Как и в прошлой части монеты полученные за победу над врагами и разрушение окружения можно тратить на покупку усилений (англ. Gadgets ) в воровской сети (англ. ThiefNet ), причём усиливать можно только Слая, Бентли и Мюррея. Появилась возможность красть ценные предметы у врагов за Бентли и Мюррея, наряду со Слаем, причём больше не нужно их продавать в воровской сети, а деньги за них начисляют моментально. Система сражения с врагами и их уровень здоровья также перешли из предыдущей части. В миссии теперь может участвовать одновременно несколько персонажей, управление между которыми в нужный момент автоматически переключается. Количество мини-игр возросло по сравнению с предыдущими частями, также они стали более разнообразными, здесь и воздушное сражение на самолётах, и морские сражения на кораблях, и поиск сокровища. В игре присутствует возможность вернуться в любой эпизод и переиграть любую миссию.
В игре доступны 4 режима для совместной игры: «Cops and Robbers», «Bi-Plane Duel», «Hackathon», и «Galleon Duel». Эти режимы представляют собой различные соревнования для двух игроков, целью которые является обойти оппонента по количеству заработанных очков.

Игра начинается через год после событий прошлой части с того, что Слай и Бентли, при помощи неназванных помощников пытаются проникнуть в сокровищницу клана Куперов, которую охраняет Доктор М. Слай проникает ко входу в сокровищницу, но Доктор М замечает его и начинает атаковать, Бентли и Слай решают отступить для перегруппировки, но монстр Доктора М ловит Слая. На этом месте Слай начинает рассказывать о событиях предшествующих данной операции. От бывшего коллеги своего отца — МакСвини, Слай узнал о существовании сокровищницы Куперов на острове Кайне и о том, что остров охраняет Доктор М, который превратил остров в крепость и долгое время пытается открыть вход в сокровищницу. Слай решает собрать банду для проникновения на остров.
Группа отправляется в Юэндуму в Австралии, чтобы разыскать Гуру. Но территория где раньше был Гуру оказывается занята шахтёрами, а сам Гуру оказывается заперт в тюрьме. Группа спасает Гуру, но он отказывается идти с ними пока они не уничтожат Маску Тёмной Земли. Слай уничтожает маску после того как она оказывается надета на Кармелиту. Гуру присоединяется к банде Слая.
Бентли пытаясь найти эксперта радиоуправляемых моделей для операции на острове Кайне, знакомится в чате с Пенелопой — мышью которая живёт в Нидерландах. Пенелопа обещает помочь если банда Слая победит в сражении на самолётах её начальника — Чёрного Барона. Группа отправляется в Киндердейк, где Слай записывается для участия в соревнованиях. Узнав что одну из участвующих команд представляет давний враг Слая — Маггшот, банда решает организовать его встречу с Кармелитой, которая арестовывает его. Также группа подкидывает командам соперников компромат друг на друга, чтобы они сражались друг с другом, а Слая легче было победить. После того как Слай побеждает Чёрного Барона, выясняется, что всё это время Чёрным Бароном была Пенелопа, которая слишком молода чтобы участвовать и поэтому придумала себе образ Чёрного Барона. Она соглашается присоединиться к банде Слая.
Бентли заявляет, что группе нужен подрывник и единственный кто подходит на эту роль — бывший враг Слая, Панда Кинг. После событий Sly Raccoon Панда Кинг стал монахом и соглашается помочь если Купер спасёт Цзин Кинг — дочь Панда Кинга, похищенную генералом Цао. Тем не менее Панда Кинг страдает от раздвоения личности и одна из его личностей хочет сокрушить Слая. Для того чтобы вернуть Пенелопу группа с помощью Гуру переманивает на свою сторону огромного осьминога, который расправляется с пиратами ЛеФуи. А самого ЛеФуи в сражении на рапирах побеждает Пенелопа.
Игра возвращается на тот момент с которого Слай начал своё повествование. В этот момент на остров приплывает Кармелита с отрядом интерпола, которая с помощью электрического пистолета побеждает монстра схватившего Слая. Группа уводит Слая в безопасное место, а тем временем пытается вернуть трость Слая, которая является ключом к сокровищнице. Гуру добирается до трости, но её ворует Доктор М и уплывает под воду, где его догоняет Димитри, после чего Доктор М улетает с тростью. Слай приходит в себя, садится в самолёт и бросается за Доктором М. Победив Доктора М в воздухе, Слай хватает трость и летит ко входу в сокровищницу. Пока Слай углубляется в сокровищницу, Мюррей и Бентли обороняют вход от мутантов Доктора М. Доктор М входит в сокровищницу и быстро настигает Слая и вступает с ним в сражение. Появляется Кармелита, которая пытается арестовать Слая и Доктора М. Доктор М стреляет в Кармелиту, но Слай прикрывает её собой и прикидывается, что потерял память. Use to move the claw around, and press to pick up and release items. When the cutscene end, Bentley will give a small tutorial on the claw. First, maneuver the claw over top a rock, pick it up, and then drop it into the hole directly in front of the crane. Use the shadow to determine exactly where you are positioned above the hole. Next, pick up another rock, then throw it at the electric fence across the water using. Pick up another rock, and throw it at the fence to continue. NOTE: can also be used to throw. Now, you must defend the power stations from the miners. They are the gray and brown platform like objects. You can do this by either crushing them with rocks, blowing them up with dynamite, dropping them in the pits or throwing them into the electric fence. After Murray gets all three of the oil rigs squirting, take out the rest of the guards, then pick up Murray and move him to the right across the river to the next field. Drop him near the oil pump to start the next section. This part is very similar to the previous, but you do not have rocks to crush the guards with, so you must rely on throwing them into the electric fence, dropping them into the pits, or dropping dynamite on them, of which there are only five. When you finish this section, pick Murray up and carry him to the right, across another river. Here, you must both defend the power stations and drop flint rocks onto the end of a catapult, which Murray will launch towards each rig, causing the sparks to light the oil on fire. Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is a stealth-action, platforming video game developed by Sanzaru Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released on February 5, 2013 in North America, and on March 27, 2013 in Europe for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. It is the fourth video game entry in the Sly Cooper series. Set right after the events of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, [1] Thieves in Time continues the adventures of the Cooper Gang. Bentley, the current keeper of the Thievius Raccoonus, notices that the pages of the book are disappearing. He must get the gang back together in order to travel through time and stop whoever is threatening the existence of the Cooper legacy. ContentsSynopsisSly Cooper was enjoying his relationship with Inspector Carmelita Fox, a relationship they were able to begin by Sly feigning amnesia, when Bentley showed up. Bentley explained to Sly that the pages of the Thievius Raccoonus were disappearing and that Penelope had also suddenly vanished at the same time. Bentley was looking to re-form the Cooper Gang so that they could stop whomever was altering history. Sly soon met up with Bentley and Murray at their old hideout, where Bentley introduced both of them to the Time Machine. With this device integrated into the Cooper Van, the gang would be able to travel back in time and fix the past. Their first stop was Feudal Japan, but because the Time Machine required an item from that era, they would need to pull a heist to get the item in question. Their target was a nearby museum owned by a seemingly respectable art mogul, a museum that Sly had been keeping tabs on already. The Cooper Gang arrived at the museum and after shutting down the security guarding the item of interest—a Japanese samurai dagger—which Sly stole. Just as he was about to flee with Bentley and Murray, Carmelita caught him in the act. Carmelita, angry at Sly’s deception, attempted to arrest him, however, Sly escaped the museum with the gang and used the dagger to activate the Time Machine and travel to Feudal Japan. Upon arriving to Japan, the Cooper Gang found out that Rioichi Cooper was in prison and his sushi house closed down. Sly promptly broke Rioichi out with the help of his Samurai Costume. Back at the hideout, Rioichi explained that the source of trouble in Japan was a military strategist named El Jefe. While working to break El Jefe’s grip on Japan, the gang assisted Rioichi in reclaiming his sushi house. Soon, the Cooper Gang broke into El Jefe’s stronghold, where El Jefe stole Rioichi Cooper’s cane, and Sly confronted him atop the giant statue he built of himself. After a confrontation, Sly successfully defeated El Jefe, but before he could retrieve Rioichi’s cane, he was ambushed by gas-masked rats who swipe the cane and retreat back into a huge blimp, where Sly gets a glimpse of the person responsible for the events taking place. One of the rats accidentally dropped a sheriff’s badge in his haste, which Sly took to use for the Time Machine. The Cooper Gang contacted Dimitri, who they had left the Thievius Raccoonus with, for an update on the book. Dimitri informed them that «Tennessee Kid» Cooper was in trouble. Using the sheriff’s badge, the gang traveled back to Cotton Mouth Bluff, Tennessee’s stomping grounds. They soon found out that Tennessee was jailed by the town’s sheriff, Toothpick. Bentley concluded that the only way they could break Tennessee out was from the inside, so Sly got himself thrown into jail. Using his inmate uniform, Sly successfully freed himself and Tennessee from the prison. Tennessee told them that he was planning a world-class bank robbery, but was arrested by Toothpick, who had taken the gold for himself. The Cooper Gang helped Tennessee get his cane back and soon found out that Carmelita was captured by Toothpick, though how she got there was unknown. Tennessee rescued Carmelita and as the rest of the gang arrived at the scene in the van, they were put under arrest by Toothpick. Tennessee and Carmelita broke Sly, Bentley and Murray out, but were unable to free the van, which left them stranded in that time period until they could get it back. At the hideout, Carmelita told the Gang that after they had escaped the museum, she looked around and found a collection of stolen treasure. Unloading them was Cyrille Le Paradox, the billionaire art collector. He had sent her to Cotton Mouth Bluff, where she was subsequently captured by Toothpick. It was then that they realized who was behind it all. Bentley learned that Toothpick planned on moving his stolen gold from the mines onto his special train, which was being supercharged by the Cooper Van. To retrieve both the gold and the van, the gang would need to catch the train while it was in motion. By diverting the train’s path, Sly and Tennessee were able to raid the train, where Murray got his van back and Toothpick managed to steal Tennessee’s cane. Sly confronted Toothpick and defeated him, but again the cane was taken away. Sly was forced to make his escape off the train as it was headed for a ravine. Unfortunately, the van’s breaks were out and they soon plummeted off the cliff. As they did, Bentley grabbed Murray’s Australian fossil necklace and inserted it into the time machine. The Cooper Gang and Carmelita landed in an unknown location in an unknown time period that was, by the looks of it, prehistoric. The crash landing had damaged the time machine, with the core components scattered throughout the area. After pinpointing the location of the parts, Sly encountered an out-of-place grizzly bear painting a picture. Sly sneaked into his lair and to his surprise, came across his prehistoric ancestor: a caveman Cooper who Sly dubbed as «Bob». Back at the hideout, «Bob» revealed the identity of the grizzly bear to be someone named Grizz, who had imprisoned him and stolen his cane. Sly eavesdropped on Grizz to get the entry codes and schematics for his operation, but was unsuccessful. To Sly’s surprise and pleasure, Carmelita showed up, as she revealed she had the information already. The Cooper Gang then raided Grizz’s base. Although things did not go exactly as planned, Murray confronted Grizz and defeated him. The Gang contacted Dimitri who pointed them to their next target: Medieval England. They used Grizz’s crown to travel back to the year 1301. When they arrived, they learned that Sir Galleth Cooper had been reduced from a gallant knight to a jester performing in a circus. The Gang also still had no information on Penelope’s whereabouts, which worried Bentley the most. Sly made his way into the big top where he found his ancestor. Once they had arrived at the hideout, Galleth told the rest of the Gang about the Black Knight, who had captured Galleth when the latter attempted to invade the former’s castle. Sly stole back Galleth’s cane, which had been taken when Galleth was captured. It came as a shock to the Cooper Gang, worst of all to Bentley, when they discovered the identity of the Black Knight was in fact the missing Penelope. Bentley tucked away inside his shell, overcome with despair about his own girlfriend’s betrayal. Sly and Murray were unable to get him to come out, and Sly vowed that Penelope would pay for her treachery and for breaking Bentley’s heart. Sly, Carmelita, Murray, and Galleth were forced to come up with a plan of attack as Bentley was in no condition to plan anything at the moment. After breaking into the castle, Galleth rushed forth to fight the Black Knight, only to get tossed aside and his cane taken away. Penelope separated Sly from the rest of the Gang, as she transformed into her giant Black Knight mech. Sly managed to disarm the mech using his bow and arrows, but then got trapped under the wreckage. Before Penelope was able to finish him off, he was saved by Bentley. After Bentley defeated Penelope in his own mech-suit, they traveled to Ancient Arabia using an ancient coin Carmelita had taken from the museum. While on the trip, Sly contemplated that Bentley had finally matured into his own self. He thought about Clockwerk and his crippled legs, and about Penelope and his broken heart, but each and every time he came out on top. His trust and pride in Bentley reached an all-time high at this point. The Cooper Gang arrived in Ancient Arabia, where they discovered an aged Salim al-Kupar, who was in a slump just before he was about to retire being a thief. They found out his three fellow thief partners were captured by Miss Decibel, a British elephant with the powers to hypnotize people to commit crimes for her, so they worked to free Salim’s fellow thieves. Sly eavesdropped on Ms. Decibel and Le Paradox, gathering information about the mysterious door in the lamp shop as well as the documents Miss Decibel forged, which would proclaim a royal ancestry for Le Paradox. To Carmelita’s displeasure, and Sly’s delight, Carmelita was instructed to dress up as a belly dancer in order to distract the guards at the door while Sly and the rest try to force it open. What they found was a huge docking station for Le Paradox’s time machine blimp. Sly was then forced into a battle with the cacophonous Ms Decibel. After a brief battle, Sly emerged victorious, but it was short-lived as Le Paradox revealed that he was in possession of Salim’s cane and holding Carmelita hostage before disappearing to the present. Upon arriving back to the present-day, the Cooper Gang found that Le Paradox was now in control, having proclaimed his fake royal ancestry. While Sly gain entrance to Le Paradox’s blimp, Bentley and Murray brought all the Coopers they had visited to the present day, so they could retrieve their canes and stop Le Paradox. Sly made it into the blimp, attempting to save Carmelita, only for Le Paradox to capture him. Le Paradox explained his motives to Sly and Carmelita, and showed them the time vortex he was going to throw them in, where they would be forever. Just as he was about to do so, «Tennessee Kid» Cooper shot the glass container Sly and Carmelita were trapped in. Sly then faced off against Le Paradox. He easily defeated Le Paradox, but failed to get off the blimp, since his only parachute was stolen by Le Paradox through deceit. But the skunk didn’t get far; he got face-planted by a jetliner and fell from the sky into the sea, clinging for dear life to wreckage from his destroyed blimp. With Le Paradox defeated and arrested, both time and the Thievius Raccoonus were back to normal. At first, Bentley, Murray and Carmelita all waited, assuming Sly would show up. However, as weeks passed, they had to accept the fact that he was not coming back. In spite of this, they each continued to search for Sly, believing that he was still out there. It is revealed that Sly is alive, but has somehow ended up in Ancient Egypt. EpisodesThere are five episodes in Thieves in Time, as well as a prologue and epilogue. CharactersGameplayCollectiblesClue Bottles make their re-appearance in this game; however, the rewards in the safes apply to all characters, not just Sly. Treasures also returned from Sly 2, and they are displayed on a new treasure wall in the safe house. Collecting all of them unlocks arcade machines in the safe house. Sly Masks are a brand new collectible. It is a Cooper insignia spinning and jumping. There are sixty total masks to be found in the entire game, and certain intervals of masks unlocks cosmetic changes to the game, such as costumes or paragliders. The costumes that are included are: DevelopmentHistoryUnlike the previous games in the Sly Cooper series, Thieves in Time was developed by Sanzaru Games rather than by Sucker Punch Productions. Sanzaru was first interested in continuing the series after Sucker Punch had moved on to the inFAMOUS series. In late 2008, Sanzaru worked out the prototype of what would eventually evolve into Thieves in Time and presented it to Sony Computer Entertainment. Sony was impressed, but before it would hand over the development duties of Sly Cooper, they tasked Sanzaru with bringing the original three games to the PlayStation 3. Sanzaru began working on the compilation, named The Sly Collection, and after its completion received the green-light to develop the fourth installment in the series. Thieves in Time represents a return to the series after an eight-year hiatus following the release of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. Several hints of the series’ revival were previously included in both inFAMOUS games by Sucker Punch. In addition to other nods to the series, both games featured marquees that included the title «Sly 4.» A teaser trailer included in the The Sly Collection, released in late 2010, showed a short scene from what was supposed to be «Sly 4,» implying that a new game was soon to be announced. Thieves in Time was formally announced for PlayStation 3 during Sony’s presentation at the 2011 E3 convention on June 6, 2011. A PlayStation Vita version was revealed on May 18, 2012 during the GTTV television show. Throughout the rest of 2011 and early 2012, Sanzaru continued to reveal different images and videos of gameplay, including that of Rioichi Cooper and Sir Galleth Cooper. From April 20, 2012 to May 20, 2012, Sanzaru ran a competition where fans could design a Treasure that they thought Sly would collect in Thieves in Time. From there, Sanzaru selected ten of these Treasures to appear in the game (two from the United States and eight from other places around the world). These Treasures appeared in the top-left corner of the Treasure Wall. There were 24 worldwide winners and 7 United States winners (but only the ten selected were to be for in-game use). At Gamescom 2012, Sony Computer Entertainment announced the new Cross Buy program. Through this program, one could purchase the PS3 version of a game and receive the PlayStation Vita version free of charge through a code redeemable at the PS Vita’s PlayStation Store, with Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time among the games supporting the program. A new trailer was also seen at Gamescom 2012, introducing Salim al-Kupar as another confirmed ancestor and sending news that the release date had been pushed back to early 2013. Sony later clarified the release date to be in February 2013, stating that they didn’t want Thieves in Time to release at the same time as all of the other games coming out in the fall of 2012; putting it in February would give it more prominence during the game’s vital opening week with fewer big-name titles releasing at the same time. On September 21, 2012, two days before the series’ tenth birthday, Sony announced the release date of Thieves in Time to be February 5, 2013 in North America and March 27, 2013 in Europe. Those who pre-ordered the game would receive a costume for Murray and two paraglider skins for Sly earlier than those who didn’t. A playable demo of the game was included with the North American release of the Ratchet & Clank Collection, and a second demo was released on January 29, 2013 for all users in North America. A Horseshoe Mode was in development that would act as a new game plus for the player. The player would die after a single hit unless a Lucky Charm (or horseshoe) was collected, as a reference to Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. However, it was cut due to time restraints. Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time has received generally positive reviews with most praising the quality of gameplay and voice acting. Aggregating review websites GameRankings and Metacritic gave the PlayStation Vita version 75.80% and 75/100 and the PlayStation 3 version 74.80% and 75/100 as of April 2013.) [6] [9] IGN rated the game an 8.0/10, concluding that despite the «ridiculous load times, occasionally frustrating gameplay and some bizarre, archaic motion controls,» Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is «a worthy game to add to your library» as it «hearkens back to a different time in gaming while modernizing the experience for a new generation.» [10] Lucas Sullivan from GamesRadar gave the game 4.5/5 score, pointing out that the game has «stellar presentation» and «excellent level design», but suffers from «lengthy (but infrequent) load times» and a «cliffhanger ending».
