Хонока Такамия – ничем не примечательный старшеклассник, да еще с женским именем. Главная его проблема в том, что рядом вечно оказывается звезда класса и всей школы Аяка Кагари, окруженная поклонницами. При этом Аяка вовсе не «хрупкая лилия», а высокая и статная красавица, кстати, на голову выше щуплого Хоноки. Бедному парню мало назойливого шума и толкотни – самые безобидные его поступки трактуются фанатками как попытка подлизаться к их кумиру, за что несчастный бывает крепко бит. Ясно, что безвинная жертва старается держаться от соседки подальше и не верит, что такая девушка может обратить на него внимание. Конечно же, он крупно ошибался!

Чудом избежав смерти, Такамия узнал, что загадочная Кагари – его защитница и могущественная огненная ведьма из ковена «цеховых». Эта группировка противостоит «башенным» ведьмам, применяющим магию лишь для разрушения и удовольствия. Как выяснилось, в школе Фуюдзуки под личинами учениц хватает волшебниц всех мастей, которые ценят редких мужчин-магов, но используют их, мягко говоря, по-разному. Неудивительно, что Хонока быстро стал популярен в определенных кругах, чему оказался совсем не рад. Теперь лишь от прекрасной хранительницы зависит, доживет ли наш герой до весны юности и сможет ли вообще ею насладиться! Вот только почему Аяка упорно зовет паренька «своей принцессой»?

Имя Хонока значит «проныра», фамилию Такамия можно прочесть как «храм цветов», а можно как «принц цветов». Фамилия и имя главной героини в японском написании начинаются и заканчиваются одним и тем же иероглифом «пламя», что подчеркивает ее сродство с огненной стихией.

В оригинале добрые «цеховые» ведьмы обозначаются термином koubou, который на слух также значит «луч света», «бой» или «судьба».

Итак, вичкрафт воркс. 8/10, хорошее аниме, которое стоит хотя бы начать смотреть. Почему? Об этом сейчас и поговорим.

Начало разделит зрителей на 2 лагеря: которым понравится буферастая кудеристая героиня и которым не понравится. Про главного героя я говорить не буду – это типичный ояш, яйца которого отрезали и пришили его сисястой напарнице(фигурально выражаясь, конечно). Ну так вот, вернёмся к Аяке-сан. Вторые группа людей (которым она не понравилась) вскоре скорее всего сабж дропнут, а первые насладятся появлением (вне всякого сомнения) маскотов сериала – 5х обоятельнейших ведьмочек, эдакой команды R v.2.0. Они являются отличным украшением сериала, а эндинг с их участием помимо отличной музыки, сопровождается довольно весёлым видеорядом. Но вернёмся к сюжету. Хотя, зачем? Зачем нужен сюжет, когда можно делать скрины с Аякой в очках, когда имота оказывается чертовски милой, когда почти все ведьмы – те ещё лапочки? Всё-таки мой вывод как всегда верен: если персонажи не зацепили, то недостатки(банальный сюжет, ГГ ОЯШ, тупость персонажей) перекрывают все плюсы, а если понравились – на недостатки закрываешь глаза и смотришь за полюбившимися героями. Так, я опять отвлёкся. Что там дальше? Дальше – романтика. Гарема нет, всё довольно определённо и на ОЯШа толпы не вешаются. Тоже в плюс. Ах, да, забыл про юмор! Он есть, он местами неплох, а местами шикарен. В общем, ничего выдающегося, но есть, есть. Про картинку тоже самое – яркая, сочная, соответствует происходящему. Правда, иногда всплывает вырвиглазное 3D, но про него лучше промолчать.

Грубо говоря, то, что я написал выше, можно отнести и к манге. Ибо снято почти дословно(только некоторые сцены переставлены). Хотя движение придало жизни героям и пошло на пользу. И не надо забывать про ОП и ЭД! ОП просто неплохой, а ЭД шикарен, но о нём я уже писал выше.

Вывод: только благодаря идее “А давайте принцессой будет парень, а спасать его будет терминаторша с 5м размером и непробиваемым лицом” можно начать смотреть. И те, кому это окажется по душе – неплохо проведут время. Остальным же – ну, аниме нарисовали много, есть на любой вкус.

Evermillion, when released from inside of Honoka, takes the appearance of an extremely tall, humanoid woman. Her ears are very odd, being long and pointed like those of an elf.

Her nails are also extremely long. In ancient history, in many cultures; this was a sign of great power. To have long nails like this, was a sign of the ability to have much spare time, meaning no work was performed by this person which might endanger his/her nails. Nails normally break, if used for their intended purpose, hence leisure and idle time.

She wears an extremely extravagant ballroom gown and has a small, cartoon-ish crown on her head.

Nearly every inch of her is white with a pinkish hue, including her hair, skin, and gown. The only exceptions are her red eyes and blue earrings.

Personality [ ]

Evermillion was initially deceitful and appeared to only care about herself. After she becomes sealed inside Honoka she becomes less self-centered as well as more playful and easy-going.

She likes to tease others, such as calling Honoka «Honoka-kyun» and then claiming he had to give up his eyes to remove the petrification from Ayaka (though she was playfully fibbing).

She does have some concern for Honoka, saying he should avoid summoning her too often. One gets the feeling it is because no resource is endless. She is probably concerned that too much of her may be drained too quickly to be of use, if she has to simultaneously fight the seals and produce power too often; her own existence might become at risk.

Background [ ]

Evermillion is a huge mystery. Her origins, how she came to be sealed in Honoka, why she was sealed, and even what she actually is; are mostly unknown (she referred to herself as a demon with Honoka, though it’s possible she was being metaphorical). The Settings+Secrets notes in the third volume identify her as a witch. Sometime in the past she was sealed inside of Honoka Takamiya with a five layer barrier preventing her from escaping. She seems to have some history with Medusa.

(Warning: Minor plot spoilers ahead)

It is revealed through a flashback that Evermillion is a demon that was called forth by Honoka, at that time a child under Kazane Kagari’s protection as his apprentice, after the girl that then would have become Ayaka Kagari had been gravely injured. She had tricked the young Honoka into forming a contract that allowed her to take possession of his body. However, the child was able to subconsciously subjugate her and force her into a contract not unlike that of recruiting a familiar. This contract had also changed her appearance and personality, from that of a cold demon to the White Princess she appears to be now. She called herself «she who symbolizes destruction and rebirth: Evermillion» and agreed to resurrect the young Ayaka Kagari free of charge, stating «I’m really supposed to require equivalent compensation for this, you know, but we’ll call it an introductory service!» She calls herself a demon of flames and asks Honoka to give Ayaka some of his mana* to her to jump start the resurrection process. She makes Ayaka a retainer to Honoka (explaining how and why she obtained the ability to take damage for him and negate damage done directly to her) and then disappears. How she was sealed inside of him and why are still currently unknown.

_{*fun fact: This is actually a double entendre. The (mana) being used here refers to both the ordinary meaning of magical life force/power, but also literally means (kanji); the counterpart to (kana), as in kata(kana) and hiro(gana). So Evermillion, in the scene where she says this, is asking Honoka to use some of his life-force/power, and some of the kanji in his name.}

Chronology [ ]

The First Broken Seal: Takamiya-kun and Medusa and Evermillion Arc [ ]

Being surprised by Medusa’s surprise attack on Babel, Ayaka ordered Honoka to go to the 12th floor, get inside her room, and close the elevator’s gate. Ayaka transforms to her overdrive mode and fights Medusa, but she is defeated, and turned into stone. Just on that moment, Honoka who had managed to be wearing his robe, tries to grab Ayaka who was increasingly becoming petrified. When Ayaka became fully turned to stone, Honoka decided to eat the pill given by Chronoire, and summoned Evermillion.

Then Evermillion appeared, defeated Medusa with her Fire Craft. After that, Honoka asks her everything he had on his mind, and Evermillion asked him to be silent. Then Evermillion introduced herself and taught Honoka how to release Ayaka’s curse. but in a playful fashion, Evermillion the White Witch; made it clear she wanted payment, asked Honoka to let her take a part of his body in exchange, and Honoka offered his eyes. The girl, seeing the purity of Honoka’s intentions; said she was lying, and offered the advice Honoka needed. Then Honoka kissed Ayaka’s cheek, while Evermillion was slowly disappearing as she had run out of time.

Medusa, recovering her strength again, this time flying with a pair of wings, she challenges the White Princess with the KMM Gang; but the now free Ayaka blows the gang down in an instant, and then managed to defeat Medusa.

The Second Broken Seal: Post-Takamiya-kun and Rinon-kun [ ]

A scheme to make the student council president popular, Honoka duels Rinon-kun in the gym,it is said Honoka presumably broke the second seal in that battle.

The Third Broken Seal: Post-Takamiya-kun VS Weekend Arc [ ]

The third seal was broken when Takamiya contacted Evermillion as a result of trying to save the lives of the people affected by the bomb magic,

It is revealed that she was first sealed inside Akaya and was later sealed inside Honoka after he made a deal with Evermillion to save Akaya’s life.

Honoka is a handsome pale-skinned young boy with short brown hair that has few bangs hanging over his face, brownish-yellow eyes, a slender build and he has a noticeably shorter height than almost all of his male classmates and lacks muscles.

As a student, his uniform consists of white shirts with a blue tie and black trousers. At his home, he is usually seen wearing casual clothing. When needed he wears a standard witch’s outfit which consists of a long, high-collared robe with a tall and pointed hat (created by Ayaka Kagari and it was purchased when Honoka and Ayaka went to the Mall and ended up being confronted by the «Star Team» Tower Witches).

Personality [ ]

Honoka is shown to be a solitary guy who always prefers to be left alone and is sometimes antisocial. In classes, he is seen sitting next to ‘Princess of the school’ Ayaka Kagari where he considers himself an average student with no real talents or special abilities.

He is shown to be very kindhearted in various occasions by protecting Ayaka and a small girl still knowing that he is powerless. He is very righteous and wants to help those who are being bullied as he knows what it’s like to be bullied. It is one of the reasons he decides to become an apprentice of Ayaka.

Background [ ]

Honoka is the first child of Komachi Takamiya and the elder brother of Kasumi Takamiya, but there hasn’t been a lot that has been specified about his background in the manga up till now. However, it has been hinted that he has met up with Kazane Kagari and Ayaka Kagari but his memories of them were erased most likely by Mikage, the school’s chemistry teacher.

It has been shown that the White Princess Evermillion has been sealed inside him. There are 5 seals in total and as of chapter 34, 3 of the seals have come undone. In the anime, only 2 are directly stated to have come undone, though the 3rd is confirmed to have eroded the battle against the End Witch Weekend.

Chronology [ ]

Honoka is a student of Tougetsu Academy who sits next to Ayaka Kagari, the Princess of Tougetsu Academy and he always wondered why he and Ayaka always end up on taking same bus everyday. One day during his cleaning duty, he gets attacked by Tanpopo Kuraishi and get saved by Ayaka. She told him that she protected him because he is her princess and informs him that she will protect him openly after that incident.

Next day onward, Ayaka starts to mingle with him in public; much to other students chagrin. Later he gets attacked by Tanpopo, who gets easily defeated by Ayaka. When Tanpopo and her four comrades transfers to her class he shows concern. When he goes to school next day he finds Ayaka torturing Tanpopo and her gang except Menowa Mei who escaped capture. Then he gets kidnapped by Menowa who injures his neck. To his surprise, the damage appears on Ayaka. Later he is saved by Ayaka again. In order to defend himself he asks Ayaka to teach him magic. After that, during holiday, he is called by Ayaka to buy magic cloths and equipment for him. During that time he is spotted by some tower witches, who try to capture him. Ayaka intervenes and defeats them. After that he is taken to meet head of workshop witches who is none other than Ayaka’s mother and school chairwoman Kazane Kagari. She gives him the permission to be Ayaka’s apprentice.

In school they are again attacked by Tanpopo and her gang and get defeated in an instant. Ayaka also gives Honoka books to study school subjects, because his grades are poor. After school when traveling on a bus, they are greeted by Chronoire Schwarz VI and her servant. She immobilizes Ayaka and stabs Honoka in the shoulder, to hurt Ayaka and show him how damage transfer works. She gives Honoka a toffee, which can unlock his white power. Ayaka regains strength and attacks Chronoire but she escapes. Honoka takes Ayaka to treat her wounds. Later Honoka begins to learn magic.

Relationships [ ]

Ayaka Kagari [ ]

Ayaka is always shown to be traveling on the same bus and sitting beside him in his class. Their cleaning duty is also at the same time. It is unknown to him that Ayaka is protecting him from other tower witches prior to the revelation of witches. Since Ayaka is always surrounded by her fans, he has always wished to get a new seating arrangement. Honoka then is kissed by Ayaka and becomes a World-Famous role model.

After he gets to know about witches and Ayaka becomes willing to be with him openly, the hate from her fans increases and he is hesitant to be with Ayaka. He is very protective of her and doesn’t want to see her get hurt. Honoka believes in her but wishes that she tells him the truth about her. Later he asks her to teach him magic so that when the time comes he can protect himself.

Later in the series, it is revealed that their mothers had arranged things in the past so that they will get married in the future. It is also hinted that both of them know each other from an earlier time, but all that remains is a feeling of wanting to be around each other.

It is later revealed that they’ve first met in the Kagari Clan’s Main Estate when they were around 12 years old. At that time Ayaka had been secretly chained to the wall in a confined room for a very long time because her biological mother Kayou Kagari had, in order to deepen the lineage of flames of the Kagari clan, experimented on her and used her as the vessel of Evermillion. In that room, she met Honoka for the first time who was visiting the estate with Kazane (at that time he was traveling with her as her assistant and disciple).

With the help of his teacher, Honoka freed her, but she had been mortally wounded after encountering Kayou who tried to erase Ayaka’s existence in order to accomplish her goal. He took her away and, for the sake of resurrecting her, entered a contract with Evermillion and thus became her new vessel.

After being resurrected, Ayaka had lost all memories of the recent events (including her memories of Honoka) and secluded herself in the confined room. After Honoka was finally able to take her out of that room, he showed her with magic a scenery of his favorite place he went to during his travel with Kazane. There, he encouraged Ayaka that soon her life won’t be as gloomy and lonely anymore and she would take back the things she’d lost in that room. Right after that, Ayaka realized that it was Honoka who rescued her and broke down in tears.

Kasumi Takamiya [ ]

Kasumi is the younger sister of Honoka. They are very close to each other. It is said by their mother that every 2 days, she will sleep and bathe with him, and every weekend, she asks her brother to get the bonuses in her game. She believes that it is her right as a younger sister.

As a studio witch, it is her duty to protect Honoka from other witches at home and on holidays. She is very jealous of Ayaka due to the time and manner in which Ayaka spends time with her brother.

Evermillion [ ]

Evermillion is sealed inside Honoka’s body. When the first seal was broken she appeared in front of Honoka and asked him to believe in Ayaka’s strength more and helped him in the fight against Medusa.

Later on in the anime, it becomes clear that Evermillion is quite far from being inprisoned within Honoka Takamiya. The relationship is more in keeping with Honoka being an exit for Evermillion from Her own Universe, into ours; like a gateway. It is also increasingly clear Evermillion only comes here when there is some event that captures her interest.

She is clearly entertained by events that occupy the time of Honoka and Ayaka, and there are strong hints that she has made deals and arrangements with both of them.

It is later revealed that Evermillion used to be sealed in Ayaka. But in order to use her power to resurrect Ayaka, Honoka entered a contract with Evermillion and thus became her new vessel.

Kazane Kagari [ ]

She is the chairwoman of Tougetsu Academy and commander of workshop witches. It is shown (in the manga) that Honoka has known Kazane in his childhood, and he has no memory of her. It is said that she is the reason why Honoka can keep a peaceful life.

It is later shown that he used to travel with her as her disciple and assistant when he was a kid, prior to his memory loss.

Komachi Takamiya [ ]

Komachi is the mother of Honoka. According to Honoka, when she is stressed, she first resorts to crying and then resorts to immobilizing depression. Whenever it happens, Honoka is the one to take care of his mother.

Powers and Abilities [ ]

Honoka is a small framed student. His grades are poor and he has almost no stamina. He is physically weak and no real talent in anything. Later it is revealed that the seals placed on him to keep Evermillion in suppressed his own natural talents. After the seals are broken his grades and physical ability all skyrocket.

Since Evermillion is sealed inside him, Honoka has a vast amount of magic power that is sufficient to maintain and repair entire city damages caused by other witches. Also, Ayaka Kagari has been using his magic power through the damage transfer technique. It is also shown that he can switch places with Ayaka using this power. As a normal mage, he has shown that he is capable of using a broom for flying.

It is also implied that Evermillion powers was so powerful that she could recover the destroyed Tougetsu City, and she could boost Honoka’s intelligence and magic. This was because of three out of five seals are broken within Honoka’s body. [1]
