Introduction

Neighborville is a quaint little burg known for its picket fences, tire swings, and zombie invasions. Crazy Dave and his plants usually have no problem putting the lid on Dr. Zomboss and his plans, but this is the biggest invasion yet! Crazy Dave and his plant pals will have to fight stem and leaf to keep the zombies out of the townsfolk’s homes—and heads!

Note: All Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville gameplay requires an Internet connection.

Press the OPTIONS button to enter the Game Menu and find your player rank, currencies, and loads of information on your stats and more. The Game Menu is divided into six sections:

Read all the latest messages and updates (this section is only available in Giddy Park)

Peek in on your friends’ activities, join them, or invite them to join.

This table lists all the players in your server and their Groups (this section is only available in Giddy Park).

This tab shows you any active challenges you have, as well as daily, weekly, and character challenges to earn valuable prize bulbs.

Check out all your stats, divided into general, regions, plants, and zombies.

Giddy Park

Giddy Park: once a fun amusement park, it’s now a battleground for crazy plants vs. zombies free-for-alls! Above Giddy Park is Dave manor and the Zomboss HQ, packed with magical portals, fun activities, and options to customize and improve your characters.

If you are vanquished in Giddy park, you’ll immediately respawn in your team’s Base. You earn XP and rewards in Giddy park, so feel free to battle as much as you please.

Venture forth by yourself or invite up to three friends in your group!

Note: Listed below are the available stations in both Dave Manor and the Zomboss HQ (no need to switch teams!), though Region vehicles are team specific. Step on the help stone near the Base’s spawn points to highlight the various stations.

Multiplayer Portal

The Multiplayer Portal is your gateway to good times. Use the Multiplayer Portal to jump into online matches of competitive games (such as TVM or Turf Takeover), cooperative modes (such as Plant & Zombie Ops), or weekly events!

There are four vehicles in Giddy Park that will take you to Regions filled with adventures, collectibles, and hordes of enemies to vanquish! At Dave Mansion, The RV goes to Sundrop Hills in Town Center, and Lil’ Steamy will take you to Mount Steep. At the Zomboss HQ, the Busbulance is headed to Pressure Pier in Town Center, and the Submarine is set to Weirding Woods.

Use the Change booth to change your character, upgrades, and appearance. You can also access this menu by using the Respawn option through the Game Menu.

TEAM SWITCH BOOTH

Wanna change your loyalties? Use the recruitment tent in either HUB to instantly spawn as a plant or zombie. You can also switch teams by using the Respawn option through the Game Menu or with the Change Booth—the Team Switch booth, however, is much faster.

Via World Options, you can set your Base to one of three categories: Online (join with other players when entering Giddy Park), Private (play in a private version of Giddy Park without AI), and Private with AI (play in a private version of Giddy Park with AI). You can also use World Options to see how many of your friends are online.

When your character reaches level 10, make your way to the Promotion Stage to promote them. This will reset their level to 1 and give them new and improved upgrades. Each character can be promoted 5 times.

MR. REWARD-O-TRON 9000

Toss your coins into the Mr. Reward-o-tron 9000 and see what you get! Items range from accessories and gestures to complete costumes. You may even get Legendary items!

Check in with Rux to pick up special gifts waiting for you.

CHIP’S VICTORY SLABS

Whenever you vanquish another player, they’ll see your Victory Slab. Visit Chip to customize your Victory Slab and its Punchers!

Have some characters in need of quick leveling? Use your coins to buy XP for your current character.

Note: XP Trainer has a daily limit.

WINGDING’S PRIZE BOOTH

As you earn XP and complete challenges, you’ll earn Prize Bulbs that unlock rewards on the Prize Maps at Wingding’s Prize Booth. The Prize Board changes monthly, so be sure to fill it out before the end of the month.

Set up a game at the Portal Console, then jump into the Multiplayer Portal to fight against your friends or other online players. There are a bunch of game modes to choose from, as well as weekly events.

Ops is a cooperative defense-based game with plenty of surprises! Fight off waves of enemies with your won prowess or activate turrets around the map for additional defense. Wave increase in difficulty as you progress, and you’ll encounter bonus challenges and powerful bosses along the way. Good luck!

One team must fight to reach their objectives over an expanding map—the other team must hold them back. If the attacking team wins the last objective, they win. If the defending team holds them off successfully, they win!

Go all out against your enemies! Every plant or zombie vanquished counts as a point, while each revive subtracts a point from the other team.

Collect Crazy Orbs from vanquished enemies to earn points for your team—or, deny the opposing team their point by collecting your fallen ally’s Crazy Orb first.

Use the mighty power of the gnome bomb to destroy all three of your opponent’s tombstones or gardens—but first, you need to find the gnome!

Capture the objectives! Control two or more objectives to add to your team’s score.

Compete in a competitive, 4v4 team-based on elimination mode!

Regions

Regions are sandbox maps filled with quests to complete, enemies to fight and items to discover! There are four Regions that can be accessed from Giddy Park: two in Dave Manor (Town Center- Sundrop Hill and Mount Steep), and two in The Zomboss HQ (Town Center- Pressure Pier and Weirding Woods).

Press the touch pad button (or tab to the Region section of the Pause menu) to open the map of the region. This map shows more than an overview of the Region—it also highlights the Region’s Points of Interests and collectibles, lists your current objectives, and contains various information on the Region as a whole.

In the map section, press the Triangle button to toggle collectables on and off (this shows any collectables you’ve found—information on undiscovered collectables can be bought in the Region Stores). You can also set Waypoints on the map to create a compass in the world to guide you to your desired Point of Interest—on the map, use the left stick to highlight a Point of Interest then press the Cross button to set the Waypoint (press Square button to remove the Waypoint).

The map doesn’t just contain geographical information: you can also find information of Progress and Medals. From the map, use L2 button and R2 button to tab between these sections.

The Progress menu lists progress for all the activities, quests, and collectable items for the current Region, such as Gnomes, Chests, and Region-specific collectables. This section also notes the objectives remaining in the Region yet to be completed. Can you earn 100%?

Medals are earned by completing Region-specific requirements. There are five types of Medals: Adventures (related to your main objectives), Sightseeing, Shelf Stuffers, Side Gigs, and Demolition Fans. These Medals unlock the ability to purchase items from the Region Store. In addition, each medal contains some lore about the region that is revealed on medal completion.

Each Region has its own currency, and a store where that currency can be exchanged for maps, costumes, and accessories. These items are locked behind medal requirements that need to be met before the items can be purchased.

The division of currencies is as follows: Tacos at Town Center, Badges at Mount Steep, and Marshmallows at Weirding Woods.

Have some extra Region currencies you don’t need? Go to the Region Store to convert it to coins!

Region are divided by plants and zombies, and each contains its own items, story, and characters. You don’t have to complete a Region before starting another one—jump between Region as you please!

Town Center- Sundrop Hills

The zombies are capturing plants in traps that force them to dance FOREVER. If all the plants get captured, the town’s brains will be defenseless! Report to Major Sweetie in Town Center.

Town Center- Pressure Pier

There’s an un-zombie outbreak in Town Center. The entire zombie way of life is under attack! You must help Dr. Real Doctor to find the cure.

Zombies are trapped by an invasive plant named Dreadwood in the old Z-Tech Factory. No one has heard from them in a very long time. Get to the factory to see if they’re okay.

Characters

Both teams have ten classes with their own strengths, weapons, and abilities, which gives each their own advantages. Some characters are better suited for the Attacking Role, like Peashooter and the Soldier Zombie, while other are better at Defending locations and fighting from the perimeter like Captain Deadbeard and Cactus. Others have a more specialized support role, like Sunflower and Scientist, who can provide healing. Try them all to see which characters work best for you!

In the Character Selection menu, you can choose your team and character, or customize your appearance. Every character has their own unique look, stats, and primary weapon. You can further personalize your characters with customizable items. Additional character upgrades are rewarded as your promote characters.

Press down on the L3 button to view character details and learn more about that character’s gameplay style and abilities.

Each character has three presets that can be individually customized with different customization items and upgrades.

The Character Customization menu is accessible before starting a game mode or at the Customization Booth at the plan and zombie Bases. You can also customize your character when you Respawn from the Game Menu.

Peashooters are highly versatile plant combatants. They provide plenty of explosive damage and are effective against smaller targets.

Primary Weapon: Pea Cannon

Ability 1: Chili Bean Bomb- Spit an explosive bean that detonates after a delay.

Ability 2: Pea Gatling- Switch to a high-powered turret in a rooted position.

Ability 3: Pea Suped- Jump higher, fire faster, and move faster. Hover in the air by holding L2 button.

Close range attacker that can snare and slow opponents and can Burrow underground to instantly vanquish opponents. Don’t let them see you coming!

Primary Weapon: Chomp

Secondary weapon: Slobber Shot

Ability 1: Spikeweed- Launch a snaring trap to stun enemies.

Ability 2: Burrow- Instantly vanquish enemies by targeting them from underground. Press R2 button to eat your target.

Ability 3: Grody Good- Immobilize and disarm enemies caught in its toxic cloud.

Great attacker who is dangerous at all distances. Highly lethal with Shuck Shot or can reveal enemy positions with Butter Beacon.

Primary Weapon: Cob Busters

Ability 1: Butter Beacon- Reveal enemies for a short time by throwing a pat of tactical butter. Buttered enemies take additional damage.

Ability 2: Husk Hop- Leap over enemies while launching a volley of explosive kernels downward.

Ability 3: Shuck Shot- Launch two highly explosive cobs.

Excels at stealth and mobility. Use Shadow Sneak to get in and out of combat or set up a knockout blow with Fung Fu.

Primary Weapon: Spore Strike

Ability 1: Casting Shadows- Hide allies and restrict enemy movement in the shadow’s area of effect.

Ability 2: Fung Fu- Repeatedly strike nearby enemies for massive damage.

Ability 3: Shadow Sneak- Disappear and move swiftly.

All about controlling space and doing lots of damage up close. Blazing trail is great at splitting a battlefield or holding a chokepoint.

Primary Weapon: Flame Blower

Secondary Weapon: Flare Ball

Ability 1: Swoop Slam- Fly up, then crash down to deal damage on impact.

Ability 2: Blue Blazes- Launch blue fireball that follows enemies.

Ability 3: Blazing Trail- Create a blazing wall of fire along a straight path.

Long range specialists. Use Petal Propeller to get to high ground or take to the air with your flying garlic to attack from above.

Primary Weapon: Spike Strike

Secondary Weapon: Spike Shot

Ability 1: Potato Mine- Plant a highly explosive mine.

Ability 2: Garlic Drone- Control a flying Garlic Drone.

Ability 3: Petal Propeller- Get to high ground by flying upwards.

Garlic Drones deal moderate damage, but they have very little health. To survive, keep moving and stay a safe distance from opponents.

Primary weapon: Needle Shot

Ability 1: Fly Down- Fly downwards.

Ability 2: Big Bulb Barrage- Launch a volley of explosive garlic.

Ability 3: Fly up- Fly upwards

Citrons are the mobile team defender. The Peel Shield provides cover for allies. Best to hold strategic locations or help the team break through tough chokepoints.

Primary Weapon: Juice Cannon

Secondary Weapon: Peel Shield

Ability 1: E.M.Peach- Shoots an E.M.Peach that stuns nearby enemies and depletes z-Mech fuel.

Ability 2: Spin Dash- Ball dash forward to hurt enemies and knock them back.

Ability 3: Navel Laser- A precision beam that grows in power.

Acorns work best when they attack in groups. Transform into Oak and load up with Acorn passengers who’ll get increased firepower and survivability.

Solo: Shell Shot

Passenger: Treetop Turret

Ability 1: Sap Trap- Launch a sticky knockback explosive. Press L1 button to detonate.

Ability 2: Invoke Oak- Transform into an Oak. Joinable by up to 3 additional Acorns.

Ability 3: Acorn Dash- Quickly spin to the direction you’re moving.

Ability 4: Treeject- Leave Oak.

Ability 5: Lumber Support- Heal Oak and yourself rapidly.

Oaks intimidate and provide a lot of explosive firepower to defend an area. They just need to be careful because they are a large target.

Primary Weapon: Wood Grief

Ability 1: Super Sap Trap- Launch a massive sticky knockback explosive. Press L1 button to detonate.

Ability 2: Treeject- Transform back into an Acorn

Ability 3: Roll for Damage- Roll a giant damaging log towards opponents.

Sunflowers hare the plant halters. They revive fallen allies quickly and keep everyone in the fight while providing support form fire from a safe distance.

Primary Weapon: Sun Pulse

Ability 1: Sunny Side Up- Showers healing sundrops out to help allies.

Ability 2: Sunbeam- Switch to a high-powered beam turret in a rooted position.

Ability 3: Heal Beam- Heal an ally and extend their max health.

Roses support the plants with boosts to sped and damage. Their Goatify spell is great at making enemies scatter.

Primary Weapon: Magic Thistles

Ability 1: Jinx- Curse enemies to take more damage.

Ability 2: Arcane Enigma- Become invulnerable and cast speed aura, boosting team move speed.

Ability 3: Goatify- Summons gigantic goat spirit spell turns enemies into goats.

Foot soldiers are highly versatile attackers. They can hit targets at far ranges, provide cover, and eliminate the largest foes with ZPG.

Primary Weapon: Z-1 Assault Blaster

Ability 1: Super Stink Cloud- Throw a gas bomb to block enemy—but not your team’s –vision.

Ability 2: Rocket Jump- leap into the air.

Ability 3: ZPG- Launch a highly explosive rocket.

Super Brainz are close-range brawlers. They close gaps by either leaping in or pushing forward with their Alpha Better Shield.

Primary Weapon: Heroic Fists

Secondary Weapon: Alpha Better Shield

Ability 1: Turbo Twister- Spin rapidly, dealing damage to nearby enemies.

Ability 2: Hyper Jump Thump- Jump into the air, then land with explosive energy.

Ability 3: Super Ultra Ball- Fire an explosive ball of energy.

Imps are close range attackers that can be hard to hit and excel in chaos. When riding a Z-Mech, they gain more explosive weapons and better ways to deal damage.

Primary Weapon: Imp Blasters

Ability 1: Gravity Grenade- Pull and hold enemies into a location.

Ability 2: Robo Call- Call in a powerful mech to control for a limited time.

Ability 3: Impkata- Spin and fire blasters in all directions.

The Z-Mech is great at attacking enemies at all distances. They just need to be careful because they are a large target.

Primary Weapon: Robo Laser

Ability 1: Missile Madness- Launch a large volley of explosive missiles.

Ability 2: Explosive Escape- Detonate Z-Mech to cause massive damage to nearby enemies.

Ability 3: Bionic Bash- Punch the ground, damaging and knocking enemies back.

80s Action Heroes are all about explosions. Explosion from afar, from above, from behind cover, and even where they are standing.

Primary Weapon: Bow Blaster

Ability 1: Dynamite Dodge- Evade in any direction while a dropped explosive covers your tracks.

Ability 2: Rocket Ride- Fly into the air and launch a large volley of explosive missiles.

Ability 3: Can’t-Miss-ile- Launch homing rockets that track the nearest target if no lock-on targets are provided.

Electric Slides are good at making enemies scatter. Their arcing electricity, Funky Bouncer, and Disco Tornado are great at pushing enemies around.

Primary Weapon: Boogie Bolt

Ability 1: Funky Bouncer- Push enemies away with a bouncy magnet.

Ability 3: Disco Tornado- Summon a small electrical whirlwind and press R1 button to expand it into a damaging tornado.

Captain Deadbeards are long-range specialists. Use abilities to get to high ground or take to the air with your Parrot Drone to attack from above.

Primary Weapon: Scurvy Scattershot

Secondary Weapon: Spyglass Shot

Ability 1: Barrel Blast- Hide in a short-fused powder keg. Light Fuse with R2 button.

Ability 2: Parrot Pal- Control a flying Parrot Drone.

Ability 3: Anchor’s Away- Choose a destination and press R2 button to launch yourself.

Parrot Drones can deal moderate damage, but they have very little health. To Survive, keep moving and stay a safe distance from opponents.

Primary Weapon: Parrot Pulse

Ability 1: Fly down- Fly downwards.

Ability 2: Eggsplosion- Launch two stage explosives to carpet bomb an area.

Ability 3: Fly Up- Fly upwards.

All- Stars are the zombie team defender. They can provide Dummy Shields for safe firing or suppressing fire to keep enemies at bay.

Primary Weapon: Football Cannon

Ability 1: Imp Punt- Kick an explosive Imp who detonates after a short delay.

Ability 2: Sprint Tackle- Dash forward to send enemies flying. A vanquish with Sprint Tackle reduces ability refresh.

Ability 3: Dummy Shield- Protect your team by placing a dome shielded dummy.

Space Cadets are great a teaming up. Up to four can create a Space Station armed with lasers, shields, and rockets.

Solo: Cosmo shot

Passenger: Cosmo shot

Ability 1: Gravity Smash- Fly up, the crash down to cause damage on impact.

Ability 2: Station Inflation- transform into a Space Station. Joinable by other Space Cadets.

Ability 3: Big Bang Beam- Fire damaging precision laser after short charge up.

Ability 4: Asteroid Shield- control an energy shield for protection.

Ability 5: Escape Pod- Transform back into Space Cadet Mode.

Ability 6: Hands-On Torpedo- Fly remote-control torpedo.

Space Stations bring the big weapons. Crater maker is an extremely powerful attack, but hard to setup without allies or shields.

Primary Weapon: Big Bang Burst

Ability 1: Space Force- Increase rate of fire and ability refreshes to entire Space Station crew.

Ability 2: Escape Pod- Transform back into singular Space Cadet.

Ability 3: Crater Maker- Fly up and destroy enemies below with a massive laser.

Scientists are the mobile zombie healers. The Healing Hose is great at keeping groups of zombies at full health.

Primary Weapon: Goo Blaster

Ability 1: Sticky Healy Thingy- Heal allies in an area near Sticky Healy Thingy.

Ability 2: Warp- Teleport in the direction you’re moving.

Ability 3: Healing Hose- Spray allies to heal and extend their max health.

Engineers build stuff that provides speed boosts and increased firepower to support the team.

Primary Weapon: Concrete Launcher

Ability 1: Bullhorn Swarm- Deploy a group of stunning megaphones to bock an area and unburrow Chompers.

Ability 2: Heavy Helper- Create a sentry turret that also buffs nearby allies’ weapon power.

Ability 3: Double Time- Deploy a speed boost pad.

Character Progression

You earn XP from your actions in gameplay. The amount of XP you earn is determined by how much you participate in gameplay, such as vanquishing enemies, capturing or defending objectives, or assisting allies in battle, with timely heals/revives.

Characters can level up to a maximum of Level 10 before they need to be promoted at the Promotion Stage. Promoting a character resets their level back to 1 but earns them a new title and upgrades. You can promote a character five times, at which point they earn the title “Master.”

When a character levels up, your overall player rank increases as well: the more characters you level, the higher your player rank reaches! Player rank is the ultimate bragging rights in Neighborville. If you reach player rank 100, you earn a new rank plate showing off your amazing accomplishment—and you can keep going for even higher ranks!

Some Gargs snuck into the quaint farmland of Preserve Pastures to find a secret plant base that’s making super-strong pickles. Plants caught them immediately. But this gave Dr. Zomboss an idea: find the Gargs, find the base

OOZEVOIR

The Z-Tech Oozevoir is one of Dr. Zomboss’ secret test facilities, where the evil mastermind is testing his latest ooze—a bouncy pink glop set to bounce humans’ brainz out of their homes and onto zombie plates!

FUNderdome

The FUNderdome is home to the town’s favorite pastime: Rulesketball, a sport where the only rule is there are a lot of rules. But when plants and zombies are fighting, the FUNderdome becomes their Battle Arena, where the only rule is there are only a few rules. Only Available for Battle Arena.

NEIGHBORVILLE TOWN CENTER

From Dave Manor, the plants’ HQ, in Sundrop Hills to Zomboss HQ in Pressure Pier, Neighborville Town Center is where your journey begins.

MOUNT STEEP

Mount Steep is a great place for Neighborvillians to learn about history, mining, and dust. But the real draw is the Cheese Factory.

WEIRDING WOODS

The Z-Tech Factory close to Camp Near-a-Lake is surrounded by Dreadwood’s angry trees and angrier roots, trapping zombies inside.

COLOSSAL FOSSIL

Some of the world’s largest dinosaurs were discovered in these mines. The Enormosaurus. The Tremenduceratops. Even the B-Rex.

DAISY DRIVE

Watching Sunflower battle an Imp from a house that’s been raised off the ground by Z-Tech thingamabobs? Just a typical day in Neighborville.

GOOPY GULLY

Dr. Zomboss wants to plant a flag in Rocky Flats and is starting by drilling a huge hole in the middle of it. The plants must stop him!

LOGGY ACRES

The Z-Tech Factory is under fluffy siege thanks to the plants’ Mallowmortar. Send in s’more reinforcements!

PEACHY DISTRICT

Zombies are spreading Signal Boosters to hack the TV station and launch the Brainzcasting Network: “TV So Good, You Don’t Need Brainz.”

RUINY RUINS

What did the gnomes use this ancient temple for? A place to store hundreds of carved stones they accidentally ordered online? Who knows!

В соло некоторые задания будут сложноваты. Если хотяб вдвоем играть то уже в разы проще становится. В четвером так наверно вообще неочем.

Играя в игру получал море удовольствия. Потому что после тоудного рабочего дня, всегда хотелось пострелять и быть незвисимым от команды противника и союзника, а просто сам по себе. Где победа не важна.

Я остался довольным и даже платину получил, поэтому тем у кого есть проблемы с трофеем, где надо получть Мастера на 20 персонажах, прошу прочитать актуальную подсказку на 2021 год

Отличная игра, время летит не заметно играя в нее, а с прокачкой 20 персонажей не так и сложно прокачивать, во первых воспользоваться багом на танцполе и получать по 10-11 опыта и во вторых, идти в парк и бить мобов на базе у противника, пока вы не заметите как быстро набирается уровень, так как там падает по 4 моба и можно делать мультиубийство и получать больше опыта.

Не спорю надойдает стоять и качать так персонажа, так как дальше не пойти и приходится стоять только в парке, но 1 персонаж в за несколько часов прокачивается, а надо всего 20 прокачать, примерно 30 дней и получите заветную ачивку.
Лучше конечно все делать в соло.
Я вот качаю сразу по несколько персонажей, так как надойдает за одного играть и иду в операции и там дают +2000-3000 опыта за 5-10 минут и с народом побегать. В ПВП там делать нечего, жесткий дисбаланс и абсолютное преимущество у растений, только безрукие могут проиграть там за растений, зомби в этом плане тут жестко порезали.

Но порадовало игре наличие Русского языка, чего не хватает другим частям.

What is Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™?

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is the wackiest third-person shooter experience yet from the team at Popcap in Vancouver, who previously worked on the past two Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare shooter games. It’s our biggest PvZ shooter ever with 20 characters, three new free-roam PvE regions, and six PvP modes!

Will there be a Deluxe Edition of the game?

Yes! To purchase the Deluxe Edition content, just search for the Digital Deluxe Upgrade in your respective storefront, based on platform (Origin, Xbox Live, PSN Store).

Will there be rewards for players who have played or completed GW2?

While in the past we have given rewards to GW1 players who then played GW2, the mechanics of PvZ: Battle for Neighborville are quite different, so we will not be offering those types of rewards. Our Founder’s Edition, which allowed players to join the game early, was where we decided to focus our rewards and exclusives.

Which modes will have split-screen couch co-op?

The entire game on PS4 and Xbox One can be played with a friend beside you in split-screen couch co-op or online with a friend. Note that split-screen is not available on PC.

How do I play Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville?

One of the best ways to start the game is to listen to Major Sweetie and play through the tutorial quests. You can do this by finding the sunflower stuffies, which should be easily identified by the giant beams of yellow light they shoot into the sky.

How do I enable couch co-op on Xbox One and PS4?

Once you start the game, just connect another PS4/Xbox One controller and hold the square (PS4) or X button (XB1) to join.

How do I customize my character?

You can enter the character selection screen by either going to the “Changing Booth” or selecting “Respawn” from the Main Menu. Highlight the character you want to customize and hit the square (PS4), X button (XB1), or (C) on PC to customize. You can change into whole costumes or swap individual pieces of your character’s look.

How do I add upgrades to my character?

Enter the character selection screen by either going to the “Changing Booth” or selecting “Respawn” from the Main Menu. Highlight the character you want to customize and hit the square (PS4), X button (XB1), or TAB (PC) to customize. Then scroll down to ”Upgrades” and hit X (PS4) or A (XB1) to adjust your upgrades for that character.

How does the Upgrade 7-Point pool work?

Each character has seven points to use for equipping upgrades. Each upgrade will have a point cost, depending on its power, that will contribute to that seven-point pool. For example you can equip one upgrade that costs four points, an upgrade that costs two points, and an upgrade that costs one point (for a total of seven points). As you rank up your characters, you’ll unlock new upgrades for them.

How do I unlock more upgrades?

As you play the game you will earn XP for the character you’re playing, and as you accumulate XP you will also gain levels. After earning 10 levels you can advance each character up a rank (up to five times). When you promote your characters to the next rank, you will unlock new upgrades for that character.

How do I promote a character?

Once you have earned enough XP to level a character to level 10, you will need to go to the “Promotions” station in Giddy Park. If you are lost, respawn in Giddy Park and stand on the big “?” on the ground to locate the Promotions station. Activate the Promotion station and follow the instructions to promote your eligible characters and unlock new upgrades.

How do I respawn in Giddy Park (social space)?

To respawn in Giddy Park, bring up the Main Menu and select “Warp Home” to get respawned at the starting area of Giddy Park.

I don’t know where to find a specific station. For example, where do I go to get to Mount Steep or Giddy Park?

When you spawn into Giddy Park, in Dave Manor or Zomboss HQ, there will be a big “?” on the ground. Stand on it to bring up the labels for each station in Giddy Park.

How do I switch teams from plants to zombies, or zombies to plants?

In Giddy Park, you can go to the Recruitment Station to switch teams from plants to zombies, or zombies to plants. Alternatively, you can open the Main Menu, select “Respawn,” and then select “Switch Team.”

How do I enter PvP (multiplayer)?

Engage the Multiplayer Portal device (in front of the portal), and select the mode you want to jump into. Then go through the Multiplayer Portal (giant archway with a blue portal) to join the queue.

How do I play with my friends?

Bring up the Main Menu and navigate to the “Friends” tab. Select the friend you would like to play with and choose “Invite to Group.” Once they accept, they will be brought to your server and in your group. You can have up to four people in one group.

Do I need an internet connection to play?

Nope! Giddy Park, Private Play mode, and PvE free-roam regions are all available offline. An internet connection is required for Giddy park Public, and PvP modes.

Do I need Nintendo Switch Online to play?

You only need Nintendo Switch Online to play online modes. You will need Nintendo Switch Online to play Giddy park Public, and PvP modes. All the rest of the game can be played offline without Nintendo Switch Online.

Will there be content updates to the game after launch?

All festivals and previous DLC are already in the game from launch. There will be no DLC or updates after launch.

Фестивус и новинки в Нейборвиле

Создайте праздничное настроение с фестивалем «Фестивус» и узнайте, что появилось в игре с последним обновлением.

Поздравляем всех игроков «PvZ: Битва за Нейборвиль» с наступающими праздниками! Самое волшебное время года, от которого стынут мозги, вот-вот наступит. Приготовьте горячий шоколад, достаньте зефир (вы его заслужили!), наденьте шляпу «Самодельный олень» и пригласите друзей сыграть на разделенном экране* — скоро в Нейборвиле начнется Фестивус!

Со 2 декабря отмечайте праздники в Беспечном парке: вас ждут снежные сугробы, праздничное освещение, огромные надувные шары в форме подарков и многое другое. Пройдите карту призов «Фестивус» и получите очень редкий костюм «Ужасный Зубастик», пройдя половину испытаний, легендарный костюм «Знаток праздников» для Инженера, выполнив все испытания, и легендарный костюм «Эльф-мотиватор» для Инженера, выбрав один путь до финиша. В Беспечном парке состоялось официальное открытие магазина «Империя Рокса». Просмотрите товары Рокса, среди которых вы найдете любопытные костюмы, прикольные жесты, эмоции и многое другое, и купите приглянувшиеся предметы за радужные звёзды.

Avoid at all cost!! I love these games but they always keep these unbalanced and unfun for the multiplayer anymore.
Graphics are great, however graphics don’t mean good gameplay.
They ignore nerfing pleas on social media as well! Ea needs avoided. Jan 2020- still is NOT balanced at all. The social media rolls their eyes at you when you bring up issues too as well. They only care about Avoid at all cost!! I love these games but they always keep these unbalanced and unfun for the multiplayer anymore.

Edit: Reupdated my score to a 1. They introduced a patch that locks out your controller and/or blue screens you if you go afk. I’m assuming it’s to stop afk people from leeching xp, but, if your dog or kid pukes somewhere and you need to clean it up asap expect to come back to a locked controller or blue screen of death. Thanks for punishing innocent people who bought your game EA.

AI is a bit too good as it can see you even if you’re hiding from other players. The majority of my deaths are from AI killing me across the map or turning around because they know I’m there as I flank the enemy team.

There’s a lot of event and NONE of them share the same timer. some of them work on a 24 hour system where if you beat it you need to wait 24 hours from that point. It’s not a daily refresh time you can look forward to. There’s 3 or 4 OTHER things going on that have their own separate daily or weekly or monthly timers and NONE of them match up. It’s a headache just to try to play the game for the events they have. Fire whoever made them and get someone who has played an online game before please.

Major class imbalance. Some are able to solo large groups and some are meant to die. There’s no real way around it, they’re just not balanced. I’d go into details but I feel like everyone here already voiced it enough.

Different controls for the same characters. Some plants and zombies are direct clones of each other but their controls are different. It’s like playing COD but depending which side you’re on you’re either playing southpaw or standard. It’s like whenever you play you need to find your grenade button again.

The aim assist is atrocious and will cause you to miss live pvp targets. Some of the aiming seems off. It looks like it’s hit scan but does not behave that way. I also suggest turning the aim speed up a lot otherwise you’ll have trouble hit anything strafing while aiming or trying to shoot.

Single Player has specific enemy spawns. There’s no randomized events or a living map.

I don’t care there’s micro transactions. My problem is that the game isn’t fun to play. Which is really disappointing because I like the PvZ series and really enjoyed the previous entries. This game is NOT GW1 or GW2.

Updated my score to be lower than before because after playing it some more I’ve come to hate it, the mechanics, the AI, the functionality, and the fact that it sends my ps4 pro’s fan into overdrive to the point it crashes if I just stand around town (not abusing any xp gains. Just. Standing.) … Expand

The game is great overall, and yes the community seems harsh on their end, probably cause it’s an EA game, however most people complaints on balancing is a bit inferior since the next update drops in a week with some balance, unfortunately it seems like the community just doesn’t have the patience :/

Easily the best game in the series. PVE is such a leap from the previous games with epic bosses and hilarious quests. The new characters are great additions especially the combiner characters (acorn and space cadet). Battle Arena rocks and scratches that competitive itch.

I know some people didn’t like this game, but come on, there’s so much possibility by eliminating the subclasses, now we can have more characters than before and it will be more fun!

Leveling takes ages, and it´s a star system (every star has 10 levels and, if you are level 10, you have to go back to base and «evolve» your character to the next star. If you gain xp after you reach level 10, the xp you get is not stored and because of that it´s meaningless.
It has a single player, but it´s boring, way easier with some characters and some of the single player modes are bugged, which makes your game crash or enemies won´t spawn.
On top of that, there is a bug, got it before I got the platinum (bought TV-head, maybe the new characters are just horrendously programmed), which does not let you connect to EA servers, and the solution is create a new PS account and therefore loose all your progress

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville is the third installment in the Garden Warfare series (despite the developers saying it isn’t.). Despite the name Neighborville (the town mentioned in the PvZ tie-in comics), it’s not a comic adaption, but instead a completely original game, featuring 6 new playable classes, a battle pass system called the Prize Map, an improved (and more reasonable) upgrade system for the classes, and an improved story mode.

As of September of 2020, the game stopped getting updates, most likely due to poor sales. This wasn’t a long time coming, so there’s a lot of unused content left over like the previous games.

Unused Game Modes

Golf/Minigolf

There is an unused area in Giddy Park that was supposedly for a golf minigame, judging by the grass tracks and holes. This can be proven more as in the files, Golfer Gnomes exist and also have a weapon used for golfing. We can assume that originally, you were able to play golf as a Gnome.

Gnome Tag

This unused minigame was basically tag, but with a twist. The player that is it would be a Shooty Gnome. The Shooty Gnome’s abilities consist of a primary with large homing, a long warp, an ability where players get stuck in the air for a short amount of time (similar to Imp’s Gravity Grenade), and an ability to throw a bomb, dealing 175 damage. The Gnome even has a sprinting animation, suggesting the minigame was almost finished at one point, but was scrapped.

Seasonal Events

Similar to the Food Fight scavenger hunt, there were three other seasonal events planned during the game’s lifespan. The events were Gift Wrap, Snowman Tag, and Breaking Hearts. There are various files in the game defining logic for how the modes would have played out. Currently, the only thing we know about how the missions are played are based on the dialog (Snowman Tag does not have any dialog).

The dialog implies that it’s similar to Food Fight scavenger hunt in a way where the goal is to collect an amount of items. In this mission, you are assisting a gnome named Gnolines, a gnome who has lost the presents of the Gnomish children. Upon finishing the quest, you are awarded with an unknown amount of Prize Bulbs.

Damage Falloff

Damage falloff is a feature that existed in both Garden Warfare and Garden Warfare 2 as a means of reducing weapon’s effectiveness at longer range for balancing purposes, but is almost wholly absent in Battle for Neighborville for unknown reasons, save for the Sunbeam and Scientist’s primary weapon.

Two of the unused upgrades present in the game data, Carbine Rounds and Increased Bullet Range, suggest that damage falloff was meant to be added into the game, but was cut during the development, as these upgrades increase the damage falloff start and end distances.

Iceberg Lettuce

Iceberg Lettuce is another plant from PvZ2 that was going to be added into the game.

Primary: Snowflakes: has 8 ammo, shoots like scientist, and deals 6 damage per pellet. It creates floating ice particles which when a zombie touches them, inflict damage.

Ability #1 Shield Deploy: Places a ice shield that last 15 seconds

Ability #2 Back Dash: When used, Iceberg Lettuce jumps back and drops a frozen chili pepper, which explodes freezing anyone in its radius shortly after.

Ability #3 Snowball: throws a snowball dealing lots of damage. Seemingly cut as it lacks a U_ file and is not used by AI Iceberg Lettuces.

Ability #4 Self heal: Heals Iceberg Lettuce and nearby teammates for a large amount of health.

Berry Brigade

An unused plant class. It had various weapons and a work-in-progress model, but was cut shortly after it was first data-mined.

Super Bean

Another cut plant class, this time of the Super Bean boss! He was almost fully playable before being cut, with 3 abilities

Ability #1 Cape Twirl: An AoE attack that damages a pushes back zombies nearby Super Bean

Ability #2 Team Shield: A shield that gives Super Bean and all nearby plants shields

Ability #3 Warp: A basic teleport ability.

Miscellaneous

There are more unused classes mentioned in the code, but not much is known about them other than their internal names and some weapon data.

Unused Bosses

Several unused bosses are mentions in the game’s files.

Super Chili Bean: A scrapped boss from Garden Warfare 2 who was planned to finally appear in this game under the new name ‘Mexi-Bean,’ but was cut. You’ll get your chance one day, big guy.

Captain Smasher: The final boss from the Plant’s side of Garden Warfare 2’s story mode was planned to appear in this game, but demoted to a regular boss.

Crab Machine: Another unused boss from Garden Warfare 2 who was planned to show up in this game, but went unused again.

Sasquatch: One of the many Boss Hunt bosses from Garden Warfare 2 was planned to appear as a regular boss here, but went unused. I’m starting to see a pattern here.

Chompzilla: Chompzilla from Plants vs. Zombies Heroes! It looks like she was planned to be a Zombie Boss, but was cut. Also the only cut boss to not originate from Garden Warfare 2, used or unused.

The Yeti King: Another Boss Hunt from Garden Warfare 2 who was planned to appear in this game. He was scrapped too, probably because there was already the regular Yeti as a boss.

Gnome King Boss Theme

The Gnome King fight theme from Garden Warfare 2. Most likely to be used in a battle against the Gnome King, which never happens in the game.

Alternate Dreadwood Phase 2 Theme

An alternate version of the Dreadwood boss theme during Phase 2, which is at a slightly lower pitch.

Unused Areas

Season 12 Giddy Park

An unused variation of Giddy Park meant for Season 12. It is completely barren, with a lot of objects and details missing.

Internal Project Name

The game’s codename is referred to as ‘Picnic,’ as seen in debugging material and the game’s closed beta test.

Deprecated Settings Menu

There exists an unused settings menu which contains remnants of Garden Warfare 2’s settings UI. The menu retains most functionality of the current menu.

Oddities

Preserve Pastures

In the Turf Takeover map, Preserve Pastures, there are two areas hidden out of bounds that were likely used during the map’s development.

This first area located right next to the first objective has a nice looking area that houses a handful of the props that gets used within the map. You could make the assumption that the developers were creating a mock-up environment with the resources at their disposal.

The second area looks like it was used for creating props and seeing how they would look in the game.

The pictures above represents an unfinished version of the final objective. It contains a lot of whiteboxing and layout differences than the final product.

Weirding Woods

Weirding Woods houses a strange Magenta Cube far out of bounds.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville выйдет на PC, PlayStation 4 и Xbox One 18 октября, но поиграть в неё можно уже сейчас — для этого нужно купить издание основателя для любой из трёх платформ:
