In this class we learn how to work with the piano roll editor in a DAW to make harmonies, melodies, and whole tracks, and then we expand on those ideas and work with harmonic patterns (harmony) that is more rich than just major and minor. \r\n

Моррис Альберт (настоящее имя Маурисио Альберто Кайсерманн, род. 1951) – бразильский певец и автор песен. В начале своей музыкальной карьеры он был участником нескольких групп в качестве певца и гитариста. Наиболее вероятным представляется, что у Мэтта возникли проблемы с самоидентификацией в результате резко возросшей популярности. Maverick посчитали, что фальцет Беллами не благоприятен для выпуска альбома на радио, и потребовал изменить некоторые песни для релиза альбома в США. Группа отказалась и оставила лейбл, из-за чего альбом был наконец выпущен в США только 20 сентября 2005, после того, как Muse заключили контракт с Warner.

Absolution (2003—2005) «Absolution» (продюсер Рич Кости) был выпущен в 2003 году и дебютировал на первой строчке британского чарта. Многие песни с этого альбома — «Time Is Running Out», «Hysteria», «Sing for Absolution», «Butterflies and Hurricanes» — стали хитами.
Альбом изначально планировалось записать поднимающим настроение, с мощным оркестровым сопровождением. Однако произошло несколько событий, в результате которых все сильно изменилось. Формально, если верить сайту MuseAndaMuse, причиной было нападение США и Британии на Ирак, что привело к решению группы сделать более апокалиптичное и трагичное звучание. Muse отправились в свой первый тур по стадионам планеты, который длился около года, в течение которого музыканты посетили Австралию, Новую Зеландию, США, Канаду и Францию. Было выпущено пять синглов («Time Is Running Out», «Hysteria», «Sing for Absolution», «Stockholm Syndrome» и «Butterflies and Hurricanes»). Американская часть тура началсь несколько неудачно, поскольку Беллами ранил себе лицо во время концерта в Атланте.

«The Resistance» был выпущен 11 сентября в Италии, Германии и Австралии и Бенилюксе, 14 сентября в Великобритании, и 15 сентября в США и Канаде. Это — первый альбом, который был продюсирован самой группой. Сведением занимался Марк Стент. За первую неделю было продано 451 тысяча копий альбома, что стало рекордом для группы и для Великобритании вообще в этом году. «The Resistance» дебютировал на первой строчке в чартах 19 стран и достиг #3 в американском чарте. Resistance-тур группы начался концертом 22 октября 2009 года на Hartwall Arena в Финляндии. Февраль-март Muse будут играть концерты в Америке. Летом же станут участниками многих фестивалей, в том числе Rock in Rio, Coachella, Гластонбери-2010. Последней объявленной датой тура на данный момент являются концерты на стадионе Уэмбли 10 и 11 сентября 2010 года, однако есть данные, что осенью 2010 тур пересечет океан и вернется в Австралию, о чем Беллами заявил в интервью на Big Day Out 2010. Музыкальный стиль Музыка Muse эклектична, помимо основы альтернативного рока она впитывает в себя элементы самых разных направлений. Среди наиболее узнаваемых черт группы — чрезвычайно высокий вокал (фальцет) Мэтта Беллами, гитарные риффы, частое использование фортепиано, а на поздних альбомах — оркестровых аранжировок. В последние годы звучание группы стало менее тяжёлым, а использование оркестровых и фортепианных аранжировок, напротив, участилось.
Среди наиболее повлиявших на Muse групп называют Radiohead и Queen. Первый альбом группы, Showbiz, даже получил негативные отзывы в прессе за «копирование» Radiohead. Кроме того, Беллами — поклонник музыки русского композитора Сергея Рахманинова, произведения которого он иногда цитирует в песнях.
Также 25 сентября 2008 года Мэттью Беллами, Доминик Ховард и Крис Уолстенхолм были награждены Плимутским университетом степенью почетных докторов искусств.
Интересные факты — В декабре 2009 года Ватикан опубликовал список «богоугодных» музыкальных композиций. В этот хит-парад, наряду с Моцартом и диском самого Папы Римского Бенедикта XVI были включены Muse с композицией «Uprising». — На одном из выступлений на итальянском телевидении музыкантов вынудили выступать под фонограмму. На что музыканты решили выразить свой протест, поменявшись перед выступлением инструментами: солист и гитарист Мэттью Беллами сел за ударные, ударник Доминик Ховард встал с бас-гитарой за микрофон, а бас-гитарист Крис Уолстенхолм взял гитару и встал за клавишные. После выступления ударник дал интервью в качестве фронтмена. Во время съемок никто не заподозрил неладное, и в таком виде передача вышла в эфир. — Не так давно Беллами занял 29 место в списке 100 лучших гитаристов мира по версии журнала «Total Guitar», а его рифф из «Plug in Baby», по опросам, оказался на 14 позиции в «Top 100 Riffs». Тот же рифф был отмечен альманахом «Rock and Pop» журнала «Q-magazine» среди лучших когда-либо сыгранных риффов. Вдобавок к этому, по результатам голосования «Top 100 Riffs of all time» австралийской радиостанции «Triple J», рифф из «Stockholm Syndrome» был признан величайшим риффом всех времен, обогнав «Smells Like Teen Spirit» Nirvana и другие не менее легендарные вещи. «Plug in Baby» также вошла в Top 20. — Одна из немногих слабостей, которые Беллами позволяет себе во время гастролей, — игра в покер.
