Today marks the 70th year since the outbreak of the Republican Revolutions.
The Continental System established by Napoleon weathered the storm, battered but victorious. The malcontents of the world licked their wounds and bided their time. Radicals and Republicans, Jacobins and Nationalists, all watched for signs of weakness.
Today, the strength of the Continental System will be tested once again.

Après Moi, Le Déluge Ideologies
Ideologies
The world has gone through many changes since the French Revolution, but it remains the crucible of many of the modern ideologies, whether they define themselves as for or against its legacy. The Republican Revolutions of 1866 are the other major influence on ideological thought, such as on the Jacobins, who dropped laissez-faire economics as a pillar of their platform in favour of coalitions with trades unionists and socialists to better battle the hated rentiers and landlords.
Radical ideologies are on the far left and seek to overturn the current social order by deposing kings in the name of the people.
Symbol: A sans-culotte wearing a Phrygian cap.
Marxist
«A left-wing nationalist movement with its origins in the Republican Revolutions of the 1860s, the Marxists demand cultural or linguistic union in a republic with universal adult suffrage and a socialist economy. They believe that once all the peoples of the world have their own democratic nation-states, the repressive nature of the state will disappear.»
Jacobin
«A left-wing movement dating back to the French Revolution, the Jacobins despise religion and monarchy, seeking instead a militarised and centralised republic to spread the revolution and liberate humanity from ignorance. Many admire the sprawling French Republic, which Napoleon betrayed, for its ability to bind many nations under one state.»
Anarchist
«Tracing their origins to French Enragés such as Babeuf, Roux and Hébert, the anarchists believe that after toppling the state, radicals should not seek to recreate one but instead let the cards fall where they may and allow the peasants and workers to organise themselves into local communes. Whatever comes out at the end will surely be better for the people.»
Democracy is the centrist ideology. While «The American Experiment» failed with the repression of the Shaysites, the violence of the Liberal Revolutions is now a distant memory and democracy has won some respectability.
Symbol: The Caduceus.
Constitutionalist
«A monarchist movement placing great emphasis on tradition, limited democracy and the rule of law, the Constitutionalists are seen as the Anglosphere’s response to the extremes of the French Revolution and its Shaysite, Chartist and Fenian offspring. Its most celebrated historical figures include English prime minister Edmund Burke and Alexander I of America, founder of the Hamiltonian dynasty.»
Liberal Republican
«Siding with the landowners and capitalists against the Jacobins and Marxists, Liberal Republicans defend the gains of the Republican Revolutions of the 1860s but believe further radicalism would only result in a descent into anarchy. They tend to support modest welfare programmes to ensure the stability of the nation.»
Monarchists are centre-right. They resisted the liberal revolutions vigorously and largely won. While European monarchies often have representative legislatures, they exist only at the sovereign’s pleasure.
Symbol: A crown.
Bonapartist
«Named for the first Emperor of the French, Napoleon Bonaparte, the Bonapartists believe the monarch is the personification of the nation and only his strict authority will ensure stability in the face of the tumult of radicalism.»
Ultranationalists are on the far right. Their motivations are diverse, but they disagree with the principles of liberalism and they despise the radicals.
Symbol: An imperial eagle and fasces.
Corporatist
«Rejecting both the anarchy of radicalism and the decadence of liberal constitutionalism, the Corporatists seek a ‘third way’ whereby the state, headed by a strong leader, arbitrates between all the organs of the body politic, creating harmony with a firm hand, guiding the nation towards moral regeneration and doing away with the petty politicking of democracy.»
Social Darwinist
«Taking the theory of natural selection to what they see as its logical conclusion, the Social Darwinists declare that their race, mobilised into the nation-state and guided by a powerful leader, will ultimately dominate the lesser races, or perish in the attempt.»
Religious Fundamentalist
«Using the common identity of religion as their starting point, the Religious Fundamentalists seek to move beyond being a mere social movement and seize state power. With a religious army and navy at their disposal, they will conquer the surrounding apostates, heretics and heathens, immanentising the eschaton.»

No 1.4 update for it, or am I missing something? Because my game crashes the second I start it and it says not compatible in my launcher screen.
If you check this; since Albania joins the Continental System when attacked, conflict is typically broken up into a series of small wars rather than one big one. It also occurs before Italy, Germany, and Austria finish their crap. If its made so that Albania doesn’t request to join or that France refuses them it will give time for the whole system to set up properly; Italy and Austria will go where they need to, and all potential sides will have time to gear up.
It will also reduce the chance of France taking the fleet due to war.
Truth be told, the only way I’ve managed to achieve a WW2 scenario in this is by not using the Road to War, but that tends to result in silly things like Italy randomly turning radical.
Albania isn’t scripted to join a faction, if they join when attacked it’s likely world tension is very high
