Before we start. Here’s THE most important thing! Make sure your DVR/NVR settings are set properly; ensure the sub-stream for each camera isn’t pushing out full HD quality, as your playback and live feed will be slow to work on 3G/4G or WiFi away from home. If you’re unsure how to effectively set up the sub-stream properly for mobile playback and live feed, do you research, or ultimately ask a professional.
Great app for notifications based on ‘line crossing’, ‘motion detection’, or ‘intruder alert’ functions set up on the main system. Each camera on your system can be viewed on-screen at once, or individually; the default setting is low-resolution video both in live view and playback, but this can easily be changed to HD with the touch of the screen. You are easily able to capture a photo or video of live feed or playback files, and easily share these from your phone as you would do with any other video or photo.
Advanced playback features, such as smart search, aren’t available via the app, but this is purely because of the limitations of the mobile network/WiFi away from home, and the ability to shift a massive amount of data in/out within a suitable timeframe.
An absolutely great app, providing you have your stream, and sub-streams set up correctly.
Spectacular Views!
We had two cameras to fitted to each side of our house recently. This has brought us peace of mind when we are asleep and some degree of assurance regarding security of our property when we are further away from home.
The clarity of the images day and night are beyond our expectations. the quality of the Audio is also very sharp.
We really like the ability to remotely check up on the property at any time of day or night..and the ability to review footage if we wish to check something.
The Engineer who installed these cameras was also excellent. Giving us a thorough over view of whet we could expect once he had installed each device.. and then spent a good deal of time connecting them up to our phones. and gave us a practical workshop how to use the system. He was very methodical and thorough. We can Highly recommend him for the work he carried out for us. and his choice of product.
It was a very good price and a Very good decision to go ahead and have them installed. we’ve had them for about 6 weeks now. and feel confident to recommend this brand of product. We have no regrets, and feel it’s been a very fair price for a very high spec. We both agree that we wish we had them

Cannot playback
The App just isn’t fit for purpose. It’s cost me thousands of £ having the 4K cameras installed and I am extremely impressed with the hardware. It’s this app which lets it down and is so infuriating.
Interestingly they have a feedback function which I have mentioned these issues directly to hik-connect but this is obviously completely ignored. There is even a forum about this very issue for others online. Hopefully this will get fixed soon but from experience don’t hold your breath!

Probably the best security solutions manufacturer in the world.
Totally good, but majority issues are exist
Totally it’s a good app.
Few things I’d like to improve, when opening the app there is a noise that is coming from the camera when a mic is available and the mute button disappeared from the last update.
Major issues are in playback:
1. There’s no indication about motion detection when recording mode is set on 24 h + motion detection.
2. When playing a playback there is no ability to play it in fast forward or slow play time to half, like: X2 / X3 / X0.5 / X1.5
The button existed but disabled any time.
3. I have a camera with a hallway config setup. When I’m trying to view this camera there is an ability to expend the video vertically on my device display (due to hallway config), but, if I’m touching/little move my finger on the camera view a little bit without touching any buttons or perhaps zoom into the view, all buttons disappeared and I can’t go back to camera list view, can’t collapse the video and need to quite the app and start again

Lagging BIG TIME
I don’t know what you guys have done to this app but this makes viewing playback so awful now. Please fix this issue. It’s not the cameras or our equipment as when I go directly to the monitor it plays back fine. This is an APP issue. Please fix it!
Recorded Events
Used to be able to clear all recorded event at one time. Now have to do individually. Big step backwards.
Camera on app doesn’t work after update
I usually don’t write reviews but after I updated the app a few months ago, the cameras became ‘offline’. I tried to troubleshoot it and it said something about gateway parsing failure so I assume something in the code changed so it can’t parse the information. Went to the website and it said my camera is outdated and no longer supported. Are you kidding me? I just installed this last year and it’s already outdated and you won’t be supplying fixes? Now I have a camera that doesn’t work and their troubleshooting guide isn’t helpful. I tried sending a message and no response from them (this was months ago). This is beyond disappointing.

Convenient & High Quality
Been used about 6 month, love it. No technical error and easy to install. HD camera provides quality camera recording.
Plug in with WiFi, remotely monitor. Great Apps.
Very bad PLAYBACK bugs after updated to latest version
Very bad PLAYBACK bugs after updated to latest version, the playback keeps: 1) loading. 2) lagging. 3) network unstable. 4) connectivity issue. 5) jump/skip important event when got something special occured, playback unable load smoothly, thus, unable capture whole important event for record purpose. 6) i have upgraded my wifi and data to most expensive package with highest speed but the apps still prompt network unstable, connectivity issue. 7) load till my whole phone hang in the apps till unable switch off my phone and battery die. 8) Device suddenly offline for a period without any reason which makes unable capture whole special incident. Appreciate if you can fix all above bugs.
Hik security camera
Quality wise rated as good bu not on excellent level well can be acceptable. Friendly to user and have good connection for live view thru hand phone. But I feel that a security camera should have the clarity of the person face when we zoom in for indentification are not favourable

Okay. but few settings
Horrible, clunky no support function
Where do I start. This is horrendous. I’m really peeved I’ve spent thousands on professional installation of hard wired quality cameras only for this clunky app to be what’s handed over effectively preventing me accessing all features & full functionality they can provide. I can’t set perimeters, alarms, activate web feed, remote control. Even after downloading the GUI, trying to go in via web I still can’t activate. The website is even worse, dated, clunky and cluttered like grannys overstuffed closet made of archaic dated technical BS. Did the tardis slip back to 1990 and I missed it. But apparently I got the new & improved software! Appallingly no access to support with the hope of trouble shooting to get it up and running. Totally unacceptable given many of us have paid for professional licensed installation & quality cameras to avoid the cheap diy trap that this is clearly targeted at.
