Camp Buddy is an erotic, BL/gay-themed visual novel game developed by the BLits team with Mikkoukun’s lead. It was released on the BLits website on the 11th of November 2018, with an extension pack due to be released later.

The game features the adventures of Keitaro Nagame in the summer scout-themed camp called ‘Camp Buddy’. There, Keitaro along with his childhood friend, meets his fellow campers, each of them having distinct personalities and stories to be told. Keitaro has also yet to discover the divideness among the campers that threatens to close the camp down. It’s up to Keitaro to unite the campers once again and make Camp Buddy a great place to be for everyone.

As the player, you will help Keitaro with his decisions and create a special bond with your chosen partner. Together with Keitaro you will make the greatest memories!

According to Yoshinori and a few others (including himself), Yoichi came from a difficult background. He was an only child raised by his single mother, never meeting his father. His mother had a strong hatred towards his unknown father and often got angry at Yoichi due to his resemblance to his father. She abused him badly, however Yoichi stayed with her anyways.

One day his mother took him on a trip as if to give him a treat; only her plan was instead to abandon the boy. From then on Yoichi had to live on the streets, begging for money and food until finally he ran into a puppy that seemed to be abandoned. He saw much of himself in her and they quickly became friends, working together to get money from strangers (or more likely steal it from strangers).

Yoichi treated Yuki, the newfound puppy, as family and the two continued this until they one day met Yoshinori. Having no idea who he was, the boy went to ask him for food while Yuki went to take his money. Yoshinori however figured out what was happening and had pity for them, inviting them to stay at Camp Buddy.

At first the two were hesitant, but eventually Yoshinori was able to convince them, bringing them to their new home. Yoshinori knew how much Yuki meant to Yoichi as well, deciding to let Yuki stay on camp grounds with them.

That was until the year before the game begins, that of which the camp went into cautious. During this time Yoichi made many enemies, causing some cruel camp scouts to attack his dog in return. The group started to throw stones at Yuki, causing Yuki to fight back in defense and bite them in return.

Due to this, Yoshinori was forced to make it so Yuki could no longer stay on camp grounds, bringing Yoichi even more frustration and anger towards Yoshinori. While he did not know it however, Yoshinori often went to take care of Yuki for Yoichi, caring deeply about him (almost like a father) and knowing how much Yuki meant to him even if he couldn’t keep her on camp grounds.

Appearance

Compared to the other campers he is relatively tall and muscular, however, when compared to the general public he is below average in height, quite muscular, and his penis is large; the largest of all the romance route options for Keitaro.

Yoichi’s color is most obviously purple, as shown with his scarf around his arm, and the shirt he often wears. His outfit is a bit different from the others, showing his animistic personality as well as giving off a delinquent feel. His hair is purple and he has two ear like tufts at the top. His outfit for the Halloween party is that of a wolf/dog; he wears a matching outfit with Yuki during his route, Yuki wearing his clothes and Yoichi dressed up as Yuki. His bathing suit is a purple brief with a white checker pattern on the elastic.

Around his neck he wears a collar with a lock on it. The lock goes with the key that is on Yuki’s collar, representing how much Yuki really means to him. The lock has little value other than their sentimental symbolism. He says he just found it while scavenging for things and thought that it looked cool on him; although, it seems there was more heart to it than he leads it to be.

Personality & Traits

Notably, Yoichi is very knowledgeable in sexual innuendos, slipping them into various jokes and threats, even giving some nicknames to the other campers based on their knowledge (e.g. Twinkerbell for Hunter, and Sheriff Brokeback for Yoshinori). He often likes to give all the characters nicknames as well, basing them on both personality and looks. While he likes to use them to tease the others, it’s often seen as more of something he does for those he actually likes and/or cares about. This for example is key when he gives Taiga a nickname only after he has a change of heart.

His exterior often shows off his over confident and predatory aspects of his tough guy facade. This is shown through him yelling and his often aggressive and competitive nature when it comes to Hiro and/or any of the other characters. He also gets himself into a lot of fights, often being seen as a almost bully figure in the beginning of the game.

We are shown however that much of what he does has good intentions deep down. He acts almost like a tsundere, however when people point it out he tries to pretend as if he really didn’t mean anything good by it. This again is often shown as well by how much he cares for Yuki, and how he acts to protect his friends when they are in need.

Felix during the events of Yoichi’s route often is shown to look up to Yoichi and hopes to understand him. While Yoichi denies it, Felix believes that Yoichi truly does care about him and the others, but just has a different way of expressing it. Felix often can predict what Yoichi will say or do, scaring Yoichi a bit and often causing him to say that Felix is annoying. Felix however trusts Yoichi despite this, still fearing him at first but soon finding him to be just as kind as any of the others.

Yoichi is the absolute most on guard when around Yuri. Being that he believes her to be crazy and often has to save the others from her, he does not seem too fond of her. He often is scared of her intentions and avoids her at all costs when he can. Otherwise, he doesn’t actually seem to care much about her, neither liking nor disliking her.

While Hiro and Yoichi often fight with one another, it is pretty obvious that the two are very much alike. Being that the two are often competitive and Yoichi loves to brag about his strength, Hiro will normally get upset by this and challenge him in return. Hiro hits a point however in Yoichi’s route where he begins to actually hate Yoichi, blaming Keitaro’s illness from the cold on him and believing he was a bad influence. Yoichi however soon after talks with him about it, getting the two to realize their mistakes and move on. Yoichi also seems to be the most aware of Hiro’s feelings for Keitaro which he often shows in Hiro’s route.

Yoshinori cares deeply about Yoichi and Yuki. While Yoichi does not normally point it out, it’s shown that he truly cares about Yoshinori as well, and is thankful for what he has helped him with. He sees Yoshinori almost as the father he never had, but they still get in their fair share of arguments. This is easily seen from Yoshinori as well, proving how much he really cares about the boy and what lengths he would go through to protect him.

Yuki and Yoichi however have the closest connection of all, often treating Yuki as if she was family to him. When he was abandoned by his mother, he always had Yuki, and therefore he felt as if he wasn’t alone with her there. They took care of one another and Yoichi saw a lot of himself in Yuki. Until Keitaro, he often felt as if he was alone after all, that the only one that had cared about him was Yuki.

Being Yoichi’s love interest, Keitaro often is seen as family to Yoichi as well. Keitaro seems to be the only one in his eyes that actually tries to understand him and put up with all of his flaws. While at first he thinks Keitaro only cares about him because of his body, he soon finds that the Keitaro truly does care about him. While Yoichi still loves Yuki, Keitaro opens his heart up to others and helps him to realize that Yuki isn’t all he has and that he really does have a family now.

While Yoichi starts off as a top, he often seems to enjoy being dominated as well even if he would never admit it. It’s still more common for him to be dominant, but as for positions he normally tops and from time to time bottoms (this also applying to being submissive). He is a very predatory top however, usually taking full control and not holding back with his lover.

Hiro’s childhood was focused greatly around his best friend, Keitaro, and mother, Hina Akiba, who is known to be prone to illness and known to have an unspecified condition. When the two were younger, Keitaro would come over to Hiro’s place often, and the two were noted to have done gardening with one another while Hiro’s mother was around. Hiro’s mother takes a great liking to Keitaro; being that Hiro always seemed happy whenever he was around. Keitaro being a charismatic & friendly person, she most likely found him to be a nice young boy as well.

Hiro since childhood has always loved cooking. Much of this comes from the teachings he got from his mother when he was younger. Hiro from a young age had to start taking care of his mother due to her condition, so he looked to help her more. He found that he loved cooking and already knew a bit about it from his mother’s teaching, so he continued to let this fuel his passion.

Although we know very little about her, Hiro has an aunt named Himiko Akiba, who seems to also help take care of his mother. This being shown through the letter she sent to Hiro about his mother’s condition and the statements that are spliced in-between about his aunt helping one way or another.

Being that Hiro has known Keitaro before the summer camp, his feelings did not only begin to develop during this time. Hiro is shown to have been hiding feelings for Keitaro since they were younger, but was never able to express them to him. His mother seems to have known all about Hiro’s feelings, later in the story telling him that he can’t keep hiding things from Keitaro like this; stating that he will eventually run out of time.

This also was greatly shifted due to the slow separation of the two over time. As the two got older, Keitaro got more busy with school and was unable to visit Hiro or his mother as often. Because of Hiro’s loneliness, he decided to sign both of them up to Camp Buddy without Keitaro knowing.

Other Interesting Pieces:

Appearance

Compared to other campers, Hiro’s body is average in height and weight, however, compared to the general public his body is short, fairly slim and his penis size is average. He has orange hair and ember orange eyes.

Hiro’s color motif is bright orange with orange eyes and donning orange colored clothing & accessories. As for swimwear, he wears his signature orange scarf along with swim shorts. For the costume party, Hiro is in an outfit that he made out of pieces provided after his favorite hero, «Super Jirou», and because of that, he won the costume contest with his creativity. His animal motif is that of a raccoon, therefore, explaining the tail key chain he always has on the back of his pants buckle.

One notable accessory Hiro has is the two hair clips he wears constantly throughout the game. The hair clips were a gift from Keitaro on one of Hiro’s birthdays. That said day, Hiro and Keitaro decided to spend with one another at the arcade. There, Hiro found himself in love with a stuffed raccoon doll in one of the crane machines; so they used up all their money to try and get it, to no avail. Instead, however, Keitaro used up the last of his money he had to get a little prize from one of the coin machines, it being the hair clip of which Hiro happily accepted. It is said to be Hiro’s favorite gift he ever received. To him, it showed how much Keitaro really cared about him, going all the way to get him the raccoon but still getting him something after to make him happy.

Side Note: The hair clips have a miniature acorn adorned to them, probably symbolic of Hiro’s animal motif, the Raccoon.

Personality & Traits

Hiro is an upbeat and eccentric young character. He loves to eat but is normally always ready for a competition or meeting new people. His bright and sunny personality however at times fades as he struggles with his feelings for Keitaro, as well as his mother’s condition.

He is known to get along well with Aiden Flynn who is the main chef at the camp. They often greet each other by calling each other bro. Hiro is shown to trust Aiden a great deal, telling him things he tells no one else and asking for advice on how to tell Keitaro how he really feels about him.

Hiro seems to most often get into small quarrels with Yoichi Yukimura due to their matching competitive spirits. Hiro often says that he is a pain and that he doesn’t like it when Keitaro is so easy on, him most likely due to his jealousy. Yoichi often teases Hiro for his jealousy of Keitaro. But, Yoichi also seems to care for Hiro’s well being at the same time as shown when Yoichi remarks at Hiro’s attitude, calling him a «wuss» for not confessing already and telling him the truth during the Hiro route.

During the Yoichi Route, however, Hiro gets extremely protective over Keitaro, blaming Yoichi for getting Keitaro sick. He continues this until finally Yoichi and them work together to get the picture back, leading the two to apologize to one another and make up.

While Hiro tries to be pretty open about his feelings towards Keitaro, Keitaro is never able to acknowledge most of his feelings throughout the story due to the fact that Keitaro mistakenly judges his own feelings as those of sentimental feelings of friendship. Because of this, he is often called «dense» and is sometimes judged by his other friends for not realizing sooner. This gets to Hiro sometimes but he still continues with the same tactic that never worked before. Out of both fear and his own denial, he often hides things from Keitaro in fear that they will cause him to later hate him for it.

While he does these things quite often, one of his most notable traits is the jealousy he shows throughout the story. He often gives remarks on how he feels like Keitaro likes Natsumi more and that he wants to replace him as his best friend. He often fears this because they started distancing before the camp because of Keitaro and school, and thus, he’s afraid that after camp, they’ll be even more distant and that he won’t come to visit him like the old times. His motivation is also greatly caused by the revelation at the end of his route, and that is Hiro would move away to the capital and he would be separated from Keitaro forever.

Hiro also is very passionate and dominant in bed. He is often the bottom, however, he likes to take control in many of these situations, afraid of hurting Keitaro rather than worrying about himself. Once in the mood, he can get cocky as well as passionate, not normally shy during these segments. He would most likely be characterized as a power bottom.

Пользователь попадает в мир подростков, где установлены свои особые взаимоотношения. Лагерь друзей увлекает пользователей необычным сеттингом, красочной графикой в стиле аниме и проработанным сюжетом. Стоит обратить внимание, что из-за присутствия некоторых сцен игра получила возрастное ограничение.

Описание и геймплей

Главный герой Кейтаро (Keitaro) приезжает в лагерь для подростков-скаутов. Ему предстоит общаться с другими ребятами, заводить друзей и слушать интересные рассказы о их жизни. Игровой процесс целиком сосредоточен на диалогах: игрок должен выбирать подходящие варианты ответов, чтобы двигать сюжет. От пользовательского выбора зависит, в какую сторону развернется действие и каких персонажей герой выберет в качестве друзей.

В новелле есть элементы драмы и романтики: герои могут влюбляться и строить отношения, а игра наполнена разнообразными сценами и красивыми пейзажами. Игроку доступны множество проработанных локаций, а также возможность создавать свои собственные карты. В геймплей встроена галерея, где сохраняются фотографии игровых моментов. Также Кейтаро делает записи в дневнике, на которых основана мини-игра, позволяющая восстановить подробности сюжета.

В Camp Buddy реализовано простое интуитивное управление. В процессе диалога игрок может пропустить реплику, сохранить прогресс или перейти в настройки. В меню пользователю доступны параметры звука, текста и экрана, сохранение и загрузка, а также подробное досье на всех персонажей. В анкетах героев написаны имя, возраст, день рождения и дана краткая характеристика предпочтений.

Персонажи Camp Buddy

Преимуществом новеллы является подробная система персонажей. Среди них встречаются друзья, любовники и враги. У Кейтаро есть несколько романтических интересов: жизнерадостный Хиро (Hiro), его лучший друг с самого детства; умный, но тихий книжный червь Хантер (Hunter); заядлый скаут Нацуми (Natsumi) и активный, веселый Йоичи (Yoichi). По мере прохождения игрок будет направлять главного героя к одному из персонажей, что повлияет на развитие всей истории.

В лагере живут и другие, важные для сюжета скауты. Начальником лагеря является Горо (Goro), который игнорирует проделки подростков из-за замкнутости на собственных интересах. Важную роль играет лагерный помощник Эйден (Aiden), поддерживающий Хиро в его желании готовить.

Есть в новелле и злодеи: например, Тайга (Taiga), ненавидящий Кейтаро из-за того, что он нравится окружающим. Для каждого героя представлены различные костюмы, а также подробно описана личная история и прошлое персонажей.

Версия для Android на русском

Игра изначально была разработана для компьютеров. К счастью, недавно разработчики сумели перенести приложение на телефоны. Оригинальная новелла Camp Buddy представлена на английском языке, однако существует полная версия на русском языке, представленная сторонней командой переводчиков.
