Campaign and Special Ops
Task Force 141 faces its greatest threat yet — a newly aligned menace with deep, yet unknown, connections.

This Campaign is set to be an incredible experience on numerous levels: offshore sieges with underwater combat, all-out explosive assaults from 30,000 feet above enemy strongholds, and high-stakes, low-profile stealth missions in both plain sight and under the cover of darkness.
Deploying alongside you are iconic squadmates: Team leader Captain John Price; seasoned sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick; the lone wolf himself, fan-favorite Simon “Ghost” Riley; fearless Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish; as well as the newest team member, Colonel Alejandro Vargas, an incorruptible Tier 1 Operator and member of the Mexican Special Forces.
After the Campaign, players can join with up with their duo for evolved Special Ops. This tactical co-op mode advances your team-building skills, and also sets the scene for the near-endless hours of gameplay available in the world-class Multiplayer.
Multiplayer: Next-Generation Innovations

Modern Warfare II — Technically Speaking
Starting with Modern Warfare II, the new title features the new, next-generation engine that first debuted with Modern Warfare (2019).
Modern Warfare II will be the most advanced Call of Duty in history, with a truly immersive experience with stunningly realistic sound, lighting, and graphics.
Modern Warfare II features a physically based material system allowing for state-of-the-art photogrammetry, a new hybrid tile-based streaming system, a new PBR decal rendering system, world volumetric lighting, 4K HDR, as well as a new GPU geometry pipeline. All of this is in service of a massive cinematic Campaign and robust Multiplayer experience.
The game also features a new advanced AI system. Enemies and friendlies alike across Campaign and Special Ops act tactically using combat and cover maneuvering techniques that would be second nature to a Tier 1 Operator.
Warzone in the Next Generation for Call of Duty and Additional Content
October 28 marks a new beginning for Call of Duty, starting with the release of Modern Warfare II. Soon after, a wholly new Warzone will launch as an extension of the Modern Warfare II universe. With it comes new technology, new features, and new gameplay that work seamlessly together. Throughout, we have taken a wide range of community feedback to heart. In order to fully deliver this state-of-the-art experience, Warzone 2.0 will feature new Modern Warfare II content and systems with brand-new progression and inventories. Today’s Warzone will continue as a separate experience that will include a continuation of player progression and inventories within that Warzone experience. We can’t wait to share more details soon.
Development on the all-new, dynamic Warzone 2.0 experience is also being led by Infinity Ward, along with Raven Software. The new, free-to-play battle royale Warzone also features the same technology powering Modern Warfare II, so both titles leverage the Call of Duty engine that first debuted with Modern Warfare (2019), providing the most seamless and advanced Call of Duty experiences ever.

When we and the Call of Duty community think of Infinity Ward and Modern Warfare®, a few quotes come to mind:
“On your feet soldier – we are leaving.”
“This is for the record.”
“We get dirty, and the world stays clean – that’s the mission.”
“What the hell kind of name is Soap?”
But as we look back in Infinity Ward’s now 20-year history, from developing the original Call of Duty to now, there is one more phrase, spoken on the studio’s foundation on May 20, 2002, that still stands the test of time:
“We will continue to revolutionize the gaming experience.”
Throughout all of its accomplishments, Infinity Ward has been hard at work staying true to its core value: continue innovating Call of Duty and how it delivers to one of the greatest gaming communities out there.
We most recently saw this in 2019’s Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®, which was a step-change forward for Call of Duty as it became an instant hit and best-seller with fans everywhere.
Innovations continued as the game was an example of the franchise’s new approach to post-release content: having every base weapon and functional attachment unlocked through base gameplay, removing the Season Pass in favor of free post-launch content, and introducing the new Battle Pass system for rewarding players for just playing Call of Duty.
Following Modern Warfare’s release in 2019, in March 2020, Infinity Ward together with the talented development studios across Call of Duty provided a free-to-play, massive-online battle arena compliment to Modern Warfare known as Warzone™. It would go on to welcome over 100 million players.

An oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico is carrying cargo that could spark a global conflict: a weapon poised to strike.
Task Force 141 found intel that shows missiles hidden on board an offshore platform. Shipped out to sea, a team of Soap, Ghost, and Mexican Special Forces Operator Alejandro, a new ally and seasoned veteran, battle heavy weather conditions long before they face their enemy.

This first look is a quick dip into the deep sea, which is the game’s single-player experience. It was first revealed at the Summer Games Fest, hosted by Geoff Keighley, where Call of Duty® General Manager Johanna Faries and Infinity Ward’s Narrative Director Jeff Negus set the stage for the mission’s worldwide debut.

The mission? Task Force 141 and Shadow Company need to board the platform, clear out hostile forces, and disarm the missile…if their intel is good and if the missile even exists.
Following the orders to “get to work” from a trustworthy leader back at headquarters, the squadron rappel up the rig and start clearing out its bottom office and catwalks. Playing as Soap, we start walking behind Graves before cutting into an office and quickly clearing out its security.
As we ascend the stairwell in stacked position with Graves, Alejandro, and another Shadow Company operator, Ghost radios in that he’s in the ship with Shadow Company Fireteam 3. Moving into the drill shack, we get the confirmation: the missile is on the platform.
Chaos erupts from here: after breaching the shack, one Operator goes down and the entire platform is on high alert. A flare shoots into the sky as we pick up some tactical equipment and move down to the main deck, where we mount a container on the ship.
Eliminating everyone on board, Soap and Graves found the missile container on a helipad…except it is missing the controls.
Graves, radioing back to another high-level officer back at headquarters with intel that the controls are on a ship leaving the platform, gets a stern reply:
“You have your orders, son — stop that launch.”
Rappelling back down to the boat driver, we begin pursuit, which ends with a crash landing onto its main deck that leaves the whole squad bloodied but able to come to their senses. As we get to our feet, we realize this ship is taking on rough waters; anything that isn’t bolted down, or human is sliding around the ship.
This is just one example of how Campaign missions will be more dynamic and lifelike, something that the original Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® began to innovate on compared to previous games. Not only will players have to contend with enemy forces, but they may also have to deal with the elements, such as going underwater to stealth around enemy territory.
We stay above sea level for this mission, but barely. Shifting across the boat while avoiding enemy fire and being crushed by several tons of metal, we reach the waterlogged cargo hold where a rush of water takes down a soldier before we deal the finishing shots.
As we get up to the bridge entrance, we prepare to breach the cabin with Graves…

There’s a ton of anticipation for Modern Warfare 2, and here’s everything that we know about Call of Duty 2022 so far, including the release date, the leaked DMZ mode, and the game’s new features.
Call of Duty is heading back to the present day, with the developers officially confirming Modern Warfare 2 to be the 2022 entry in their popular annual gaming franchise, revealing the official logo at the end of April.
Ever since the reveal trailer dropped, wee have received a ton of new information regarding Modern Warfare 2, including brand-new Field Upgrades, the release date, and more.
Here’s everything we know about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 release date
Call of Duty have announced that Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28, 2022.
The devs announced the release date through a video showing off Modern Warfare 2’s key art and characters. Modern Warfare 2 then received its official worldwide reveal on June 8 which gave players a taste of what the game will bring.
In addition, the Modern Warfare 2 campaign reveal occurred during the Summer Game Fest on June 9. We’ll get our first glimpse of the multiplayer gameplay at the Call of Duty Next event on September 15.
How to pre-order Modern Warfare 2
Pre-orders for Modern Warfare 2 were available as of June 8 and to secure your copy you can visit the Call of Duty store. Once on the webpage, select your platform and complete the transaction for the edition of your choice.
For the first time since CoD: World War II, a new title will be available on Steam as Modern Warfare 2 returns to the platform. It’s also important to note that those who pre-order Modern Warfare 2 will receive early access to the open beta.
Is Modern Warfare 2 a remake?
2022’s Modern Warfare 2 is not a remake of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. Instead, Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare and as a result, it will share several characteristics with the 2019 title.
The developers stated they always take inspiration from the past, but also “want to make new things.” While certain aspects of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 may have offered inspiration, ultimately Modern Warfare 2 is set to be a brand-new title.
In addition, Modern Warfare 2 won’t feel like a simple reskin of Modern Warfare. The devs confirmed that every aspect of the game is redone and changed.
Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta
Modern Warfare 2 will have an open beta prior to its October 28 release. It will first become available for two days starting on September 16 for PlayStation users who preordered the game. Then, it will open up to other players on the platform from September 18 to 20.
Xbox and PC owners that preordered Modern Warfare 2 can enjoy the open beta from September 22 to 23, and it will finally become open to players on all platforms from September 24 to 26.

Modern Warfare 2 campaign details
Modern Warfare 2’s campaign takes place three years after the events of Modern Warfare (2019). The story follows Task Force 141 after a US strike kills a foreign general.
The group promises revenge, so Task Force 141 teams up with Mexican Special Forces to stop the threat.
It’s worth keeping in mind that there is much more to the story that we don’t know yet, but as more information is released we’ll be sure to inform you. For more information, check out our dedicated piece on Modern Warfare 2’s campaign.
Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer details
For starters, Modern Warfare 2 will feature core maps that were designed for 6vs6 gameplay and battle maps that were designed for large team gameplay. So far, five maps have been revealed and you can check out our guide on all of the confirmed maps in Modern Warfare 2.
In terms of game modes, players can expect a mix of old favorites and new innovations. Prisoner Rescue and Knockout are just two of the new Modern Warfare 2 modes that have been revealed, while Special Ops and Gunfight are set to return to the franchise.
The new content doesn’t stop there as the devs have completely overhauled the way AI will interact with players in Modern Warfare 2. You can expect AI to be much more challenging and fierce. Meanwhile, the new movement mechanics including swimming, have allowed the devs to place an emphasis on water design throughout the multiplayer experience.
Player customization is once again at the forefront of the series and you’ll have a new and improved Gunsmith system to utilize in Modern Warfare 2.
Modern Warfare 2 RICOCHET anti-cheat
On June 16, the Call of Duty developers confirmed in a progress report that the RICOCHET anti-cheat system will be active from day one in both the Modern Warfare and Warzone sequels.
While encountering cheaters is still a problem that you might face in the game, the devs promised the community that RICOCHET will continue to “get smarter and better as time progresses.”

Warzone 2 integration
Activision have officially confirmed that Warzone 2 will be a completely new game separate from Warzone. The brand-new Warzone experience will feature “new Modern Warfare II content and systems with brand-new progression,” resetting player inventories from Warzone.

Modern Warfare 2 leaks
RalphsValve leaked five maps that players can expect to see in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. These are some of the most popular ones in the entire series and we might see them return.
Here are the returning Modern Warfare 2 maps:
A later report from industry insider Tom Henderson, stated that these maps are set to arrive in Warzone 2, but they may not be available at MW2’s launch. Instead, players might have to wait for them to be added to multiplayer.
Furthermore, Call of Duty General Manager Johanna Faries confirmed that Highrise will be a POI in Warzone 2. It remains to be seen if these nostalgic locations will make their way to Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.
The Warzone Mobile game files revealed the first images of the Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer maps. These leaked images show how different all of these maps are from each other in terms of appearance.
One of the maps shown in these leaks is the Grand Prix which is set in Asia. We got our first official look at this map in a video posted by the developers on the final day of CDL Championship Weekend.
The leaked images also revealed the Oilfield map which is set in what appears to be an oil storage facility. There are giant vats presumably filled with oil all around this brand-new location.
It’s likely that this map is located in a hot location like the Middle East or in South America as the ground in the image looks dry and sandy.
Museum is another new location that has been revealed in these images and while we don’t get too much information about what this map contains, it seems to have both indoor and outdoor combat.
The final leaked location was given the codename ‘SABA’ and the most notable aspects shown in the image are a statue of a man on a horse as well as some palm trees. At the time of writing, no other information is available about this map.
Leakers such as Tom Henderson have claimed that Modern Warfare 2 will come with a brand-new game mode – DMZ. While we don’t know exactly what the game mode will entail, the leaker described this mode as “MWII’s take on Escape From Tarkov.”
Henderson believes the mode will have been in development for over four years by the time Modern Warfare 2 releases, and you’ll drop into several locations and will have to plunder through abandoned homes, buildings, vehicles, crates, and corpses. He also said that the area has been made up of maps from the original MW2 which act as POIs.
Reputable leaker TheGhostOfHope also implied that the comparisons of this brand-new Modern Warfare 2 game mode to Battlestate Games’ Escape From Tarkov are accurate.
Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ reportedly also features a marketplace where players can go to purchase and sell items. When you drop into this game mode, you can head to the marketplace to “earn skins, blueprints, and more.”
There was a rumor that DMZ would be a free-to-play experience like Warzone, but Henderson claims that the mode will be available exclusively to players that have purchased Modern Warfare 2.
The insider added that it’s possible for DMZ to eventually adopt a free-to-play model, but that won’t be the case at the mode’s launch.
Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ is not a Call of Duty 2023 Free to Play Title
Modern Warfare 2 SBMM rework
Skill-based matchmaking has been one of the most controversial aspects of Call of Duty titles, and a report from CoD leaker ‘RalphsValve’ claims that the developers could be aiming to revise the SBMM to be “less debilitating” in Modern Warfare 2.
According to this leak, the devs aim to make games feel less strict, but Modern Warfare 2 could still keep the controversial feature of disbanding lobbies after each game comes to an end.
Modern Warfare 2 Pro Perks return
On May 20, Tom Henderson claimed that Pro Perks were a part of the recent Warzone 2 playtests. These were superior versions of standard Perks in the original Modern Warfare 2
While these are expected to appear in Warzone, the industry insider claimed that they could also make their way to the MW2 multiplayer as a shared feature.

Напомним, что после Call of Duty: WWII компьютерные версии новых частей серии не выходили в Steam, становясь эксклюзивами Battle.net, но в этом году это изменится, и ПК-геймеры проявляют большой интерес к Modern Warfare II, активно оформляя предзаказы. Издательство Activision Blizzard может пересмотреть свои планы по выпуску новой части Call of Duty, оставив игроков без новой порции традиционных мультиплеерных баталий. Об этом сообщают сразу несколько инсайдеров.
Сейчас Sledgehammer Games функционирует в обновленном составе, вот только Vanguard разрабатывается в условиях дефицита времени. Как утверждает блогер Томас Хендерсон, разработчикам также мешает решение Activision выпустить шутер на консолях прошлого поколения Xbox One и PlayStation 4.
Согласно предварительным данным, события Call of Duty 2021 будут разворачиваться в рамках Второй мировой войны или альтернативного сеттинга, в котором глобальный конфликт не завершился в 1945-м году.
Издательство официально заявило, что релиз новой части франшизы состоится в 2021 году, причем шутер создают с учетом консолей нового поколения. Но инсайдеры сигнализируют, что Vanguard может остаться без мультиплеерной части (без учета интеграции режима Warzone). Компенсировать недостаток планируется якобы за счет релиза Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Remastered.
Весной 2020 года состоялся релиз ремастера одиночной кампании Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, за который отвечала студия Beenox. Уже тогда ходили упорные слухи о том, что мультиплеерная часть была завершена, но издательство якобы решило не выпускать ее, дабы не мешать продажам Warzone, Modern Warfare 2019 и Cold War.
Как утверждает редактор VentureBeat Джефф Грабб, ремастер мультиплеера Modern Warfare 2 может стать единственным многопользовательским релизом в 2021 году. А инсайдер MW2 OG подтверждает информацию Хендерсона о том, что детище Sledgehammer Games находится в ужасном состоянии.
Он также не исключает, что релиз Vanguard в итоге отменят. А отдуваться придется ремастеру мультиплеера MW2 и ремастеру одиночной кампании Modern Warfare 3, который якобы станет временным эксклюзивом PlayStation.

Modern Warfare II — Technically Speaking
Starting with Modern Warfare II, the new title features the new, next-generation engine that first debuted with Modern Warfare (2019).
Modern Warfare II will be the most advanced Call of Duty in history, with a truly immersive experience with stunningly realistic sound, lighting, and graphics.
Modern Warfare II features a physically based material system allowing for state-of-the-art photogrammetry, a new hybrid tile-based streaming system, a new PBR decal rendering system, world volumetric lighting, 4K HDR, as well as a new GPU geometry pipeline. All of this is in service of a massive cinematic Campaign and robust Multiplayer experience.
The game also features a new advanced AI system. Enemies and friendlies alike across Campaign and Special Ops act tactically using combat and cover maneuvering techniques that would be second nature to a Tier 1 Operator.
Warzone in the Next Generation for Call of Duty and Additional Content
October 28 marks a new beginning for Call of Duty, starting with the release of Modern Warfare II. Soon after, a wholly new Warzone will launch as an extension of the Modern Warfare II universe. With it comes new technology, new features, and new gameplay that work seamlessly together. Throughout, we have taken a wide range of community feedback to heart. In order to fully deliver this state-of-the-art experience, Warzone 2.0 will feature new Modern Warfare II content and systems with brand-new progression and inventories. Today’s Warzone will continue as a separate experience that will include a continuation of player progression and inventories within that Warzone experience. We can’t wait to share more details soon.
Development on the all-new, dynamic Warzone 2.0 experience is also being led by Infinity Ward, along with Raven Software. Известный инсайдер Hope, специализирующийся на утечках по Call of Duty, заявил, что режим DMZ в новой Modern Warfare 2 будет включать торговую площадку, на которой игроки смогу покупать, продавать и обмениваться предметами.
«Третий режим DMZ в Modern Warfare 2 будет включать в себя рынок, где предметы можно будет покупать и обменивать. Вы сможете покупать скины, чертежи и другие вещицы, которые можно использовать в многопользовательской игре, включая Warzone 2», — утверждает инсайдер.
Сообщается, что режим DMZ в плане механики будет походить на Escape from Tarkov: упор будет сделан на реализм, а темп геймплей будет гораздо медленнее, неджели привыкли поклонники серии. Цель в том, чтобы собирать различный лут и доставлять его на одну из точек эвакуации на карте, попутно выполняя различные условия.

По словам Хендерсона, новый режим никак не связан с Battlefield 2042 и Hazard Zone. Разработчики из Infinity Ward работают над ним уже очень давно и скорее всего оглядываются на правила Escape from Tarkov. Онлайн-режим заменит «Спецоперации» и будет основан на командной составляющей, привнеся в шутер хардкорные элементы выживания.

На протяжении почти восьми минут зрителям показывают перестрелки под проливным дождём, сначала на нефтяной платформе в Мексиканском заливе, а чуть позднее — ещё и на раскачивающемся на волнах нефтяном танкере.
Продвинутая система освещения, реалистичное поведение воды и объёмный звук придают запечатлённому действу особую зрелищность. В конце ролика разработчики показали нарезку из разных геймплейных фрагментов и напомнили, что проект поступит в продажу 28 октября.
Поскольку год Call of Duty: Vanguard почти подошел к концу, набирает обороты шумиха вокруг Modern Warfare 2 — продолжения мягкой перезагрузки популярной серии Modern Warfare в 2019 году.
Есть много подтвержденных подробностей об истории и кампании MW2, но подтвержденные подробности о многопользовательской игре были скромны. Чего и следовало ожидать, учитывая, что у нас еще не было многопользовательского раскрытия.

В аккаунте Steam поделились постом с объявлением о презентации CoD: Modern Warfare II и сопроводили сообщение «глазастым» смайликом.
Теперь поклонники франшизы Call of Duty уверены в том, что новинка появится на ПК не только в Battle.net, но и в Steam.
Полноценный показ должен пройти 8 июня.

Известный инсайдер Том Хендерсон обсудил на своей странице новость о поглощении Activision Blizzard. Многие пользователи стали беспокоится, что некоторые игры компании могут стать эксклюзивами Xbox. По словам Хендерсона, это точно не коснётся Call of Duty, серии шутеров останется мультиплатформой.

Разработчики модификации для Modern Warfare 2 представили новое геймплейное видео
SM2 (ориг. sm²) — это модифицированная Call of Duty на основе движка Modern Warfare 2 — игры, которая многими считается лучшей в истории COD. Как сообщают разработчики модификации, сейчас игра находится на стадии разработки и в сети нет никакого клиента альфа версии.

Интересное решение, учитывая что на момент выхода MW2 уже многие плевались с устаревшего движка, но разработчики какими-то хитрыми трюками и оптимизациями давали очень сочную картинку и тащили сюжетом и постановкой. Топовой-то игра считается за постановку сингла.
Нет спроси многих олдов тебе многие скажут что мв 2,Бо 2 это были одни из лучших если не лучшие времена кода а сколько нарезок было с Mlg
Зачем мне кого-то спрашивать, и сам вполне олд, играл в COD с первой части когда они были актуальные. MW2 был реально топовый, по постановке превзошел MW1 значительно, в целом тогда на технические моменты движка было пофиг, я офигевал что на достаточно слабом пк со старой видеокартой они дают крутую картинку, насколько я понимаю очень грамотная работа с детализацией на передних планах и контрастное освещение пускало пыль в глаза. Но вот на MW3 уже пошел обсер, игра стала выглядеть очень плохо на фоне сингла BF3, да и постановка стала самоповтором. А дальше я уже как-то в COD и не играл, надоело одно по одному.
Факт в том что на MW2-MW3 их движ помирал совсем, зачем на нем что-то делать в 2021?

Инсайдер с ником RalphsValve опубликовал в Твиттере весьма необычный скриншот с обратным отсчетом. Скриншот посвящен новой части, а дата указана 30 апреля. Вполне возможно, что именно в этот день представят тизер новой части.
Что касается полноценного анонса, то он может состояться 30 мая по мнению инсайдера. Стоит отметить, что многие части Call of Duty действительно анонсировали в апреле или мае. При этом, в июне пройдет мероприятие Summer Game Fest, где могут показать новую часть во всей красе.
Несмотря на все слухи стоит отметить, что информация от RalphsValve не была подтверждена или опровергнута кем-то из студии, поэтому к ней стоит относиться скептически.
