Why I Believe in God
God in Ypenburg (Photo credit: Gerard Stolk (vers la Pentecôte ))
God is your best, most perfect friend. He is always available, willing to listen to your complaints and show you a way out, a solution to your problems.
He never gets tired, He never exasperates. If you search Him, He will be there for you to patiently assist you.
When He is rejected by ignorance or human rebellion, He discreetly awaits.
Silently He speaks through the wonders of nature, and manifests Himself in countless ways, impossible to be overlooked.
God is indulgent, He is a safe shelter where comfort stretches out and calms down those who look for refuge.
He is close enough to learn about your needs, but He does not make you feel embarrassed by obliging you to receive His help. No! He gives you wise, sensitive advice through your inner clear wisdom.
At times, He even inspires you before the events so that you can be spared from the bad ones but benefited with the favorable happenings.
With God in your heart and mind, you will make happy, sensible decisions and will accomplish your daily tasks in a dynamically elevated spirit.
He provides all your needs, but He does not take them over in order not to set your effort and value aside, and thus leading you to uselessness.
He blesses you, whether or not you search for Him. However, if you rise with your thoughts and tune in with God’s gifts, you will be able to better imbibe His supreme love.
Do not do anything without finding support on this trustworthy, fatherly friend that is God.

Briefly about I’m An Evil God Manga:
This Manhua I really liked, I thought it would be one of my favorite works. But things started to go downhill when the MC was debuffed, and very badly. In the form of the price of a finger unequal, and even after that it got worse and worse. From that point on. MC hasn’t gotten any stronger, he’s just been an errand boy for the cult. Up until chapter 191, everything was cliched enough for an isekai harem comedy. And the jokes, the plot armor, and the MC’s luck made the reader relax. But then, there was an unexpected turn toward tragedy. And because of that, the plot became more interesting. I recommend it for reading.
I’m An Evil God – My reading manga will be a real adventure for you on the best Manga Website. So, on MANGAEFFECT you have a great opportunity to Read Manga Online in English.
I’m An Evil God Manga about:
The most courageous and the most beautiful evil god in the history of all worlds! The incomparable handsome Xie Yan has fallen into the lair of a fox. In order not to die from pumping life force, he began to travel between different worlds, killed the son of God and even destroyed the confederation of Yang Yi. Thanks to the humor, the previous chapters are easy to read. Except for the story about Qian Ming (the second small world).
All the kingdoms know about the most courageous, the most beautiful, and the most evil god in history! The incomparably handsome man Xie Yan is reborn and trapped in the “den of the fox”. To become stronger, he travels between different worlds, kills the children of Deities and destroys the Union of Yang Yi… This is the story of how he eventually becomes an evil god.

Way To Be The Evil Emperor Manga
Also, works that get more interesting as the story progresses are extremely rare. More often than not, the beginning is outstanding, and then the author leaks the ending for a happy ending in an attempt to please the publisher/yaoists (like Isayama did), just chokes up and has a hiatus (Miura), or has a creative crisis (Oku).
The title does not fit the piece at all. The MC can be kicked by a regular old lady. He is only strong in the secondary worlds (He travels through the worlds several times) in the main world he is weak.

The other day, as I was going to speak for a meeting at a place called Neyattinkara, I was least prepared. That day morning the Lord gave me one verse, and that’s all. I didn’t get much details on what I was supposed to speak. I quickly got ready and while I was in the car, I was begging God to give me more details on what I should speak, and suddenly this thought came to me: “With Me”
I started to ponder on that phrase, and knew that it was God trying to convey something very important to me.
This had some connection with the verse which the Lord gave me in the morning. As I started pondering on it, I got better clarity: Friendship with God.
I listened carefully, and said: Lord! Speak, I want to learn more.
Then He asked me, Son, what are the characteristics of a good friend
I took my phone to google it out! Lord said, No! Just meditate! I will give you the points. And all of a sudden this verse came to my mind
He appointed twelve that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach Mark 3: 14
The Lord Jesus chose His 12 disciples for one main purpose: they might be with Him
Then the Lord said, Son, you know why I chose those 12? Because I wanted them to be my friends upon this earth, and I wanted them to be with Me always!
I quickly opened my bag, and took out the notebook and wrote the first point
A good friend is the one whom we like to be with, always! (More on this below Point#1)
Wow! The Lord was teaching me. I wrote it!
I said, Thank you Jesus. Lord, more points please!
Then as I was journeying at the back seat of the car, the Lord taught me the remaining points as well. I quickly noted it down, and by the time I reached the place, it was complete. I got little more free time there, and I quickly made those scribbled points into a 10 point sermon, and that’s how you are reading this. I was weeping out of joy, because even though I was least prepared, the Lord gave me a fresh message on ‘Friendship with God’
READ MORE: How to choose a topic that makes a life changing sermon?
Yes, let’s have a quick walk-through of this good friendship. You can find a detailed video sermon on this teaching here (Part 1 is already uploaded. Remaining will be uploaded shortly in our YouTube Channel)
Abraham called as God’s friend
Let’s start with this verse
And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. James 2: 23
Abraham is one of the people in the Bible, who was known as God’s friend. What a great privilege!
Where in the Old Testament (The first section of the Bible, written before Christ came) is it mentioned about Abraham, called as God’s friend?
But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend
God addresses Abraham as His friend
Many times, we visualize God as someone sitting on a Great White Throne, like a King, and is at a distant place. It’s true, but the Bible also paints a picture of God, who longs to walk besides us as a friend.
Would you like to be known as the Friend of God?
What is the difference between “God is my friend” and “I am God’s friend”?
When I say, “God is my friend”, I mean “I need God and God is ready to help me like a friend”
Similarly, when God says, “You are My friend, it means, “God needs you as His companion and you are readily available for God at any time! Isn’t it amazing? (We will discuss more on this below)
God is my friend is the first level of friendship with God, and we love the friendship of God
But the next higher level is when God says You are My friend. That is a great privilege! Abraham got that privilege, and we too can!
In other words, friendship with God is most exciting when it is a two-way friendship. God has been your friend for long, but are you an available friend of God?
10 things to note when God becomes your best friend
The following points are applicable when God becomes my friend. Let’s see one by one
1. You will love to be with Him always
Good friends love companionship. They love to spend time with each other. If God is truly your friend, then you will love to be with Him always. (We already discussed this in the intro portion)
Point to ponder: Do I really enjoy the companionship of God? How do I spend my free time?
2. You will blindly believe Him
If God is your friend, you will not doubt Him. As it is written about Abraham: Abraham believed God
23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.
You won’t have a second question. You will simply believe what God tells!
Point to ponder: Do I blindly trust God and His words? Do I believe God without even 1% of doubt?
3. He will tell you everything
If God is your friend, He will not hide anything from you. He will plainly tell you before it happens.
When God planned to punish the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, God told Abraham about this plan.
Then the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? Gen 16: 17
No! God loves to share with you all the plans He has for your life. Amazing, right?
Jesus also confirms this
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. John 15: 15
Point to ponder: As a friend of God, did I hear from God about His plans for my life?
4. You will do anything for Him
If God is your best friend, you will do anything for Him.
Have you noticed that, sometimes, children do not obey their parents, but if their friends ask them to do something, they will love to do it quickly. Interesting!
Yeah, that’s the power of friendship.
One day God asked Abraham to sacrifice his one and only son. Did Abraham dare to do that? Yes, Abraham was willing to do that even! No wonder God called Abraham as His dear friend!
Jesus said:
You are My friends if you do what I command. John 15: 14
Point to ponder: If God tells me to do something, will I do that, without questioning?
5. He knows everything about me (No secrets)
If God is my best friend, He knows everything about me. There is nothing hidden between true friends. There is total transparency.
David says
You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. Ps 139: 2
Even before you pray, God knows your needs! Wow!!
Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matt 6: 8

Point to ponder: Is there anything which I am trying to hide from God?
6. You can approach Him any time for any need
If God is your friend, you can disturb Him at any time. Never will He say, I am sorry, I am busy!
No never! He is always available for you.
God promises
Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory Ps 50: 15
Jesus tells a parable about a friend who went to his close friend at midnight for food. Read more
5 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; 6 a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ 7 And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. (Luke 6)
(Audacity means a willingness to take bold risks)
You will not feel shameful to bug God any time! 😛
Point to ponder: Do I often bug God for my needs? (Yes, you can! Jesus gave you permission)
7. You can share any problem with Him. He can handle any problem of yours!
If God is your true friend, you will share all your burdens, worries, anxieties and problems with Him. And He is faithful enough to help you out.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4: 6, 7

Point to ponder: Do I discuss all my problems with Jesus?
8. There is no need to fear because there is abundant love
If God is your true friend, you will never be afraid to go to Him. Even if you have made a mistake, you will never fear to go to Him and ask for forgiveness. Because you know that God loves you so much.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. I John 4: 18

Adam, when he sinned, he ran away from the presence of God. But when Peter sinned, He repented and wept and Jesus saw His repentant heart and had mercy on Peter.
That’s the difference.
Point to ponder: Do I run away from God when I make a mistake or run towards God for help?
9. One look is enough. No communication gap
A friend understands your gestures. Sometimes even a look or a change in facial expression is enough.
When Peter denied Jesus, He looked at Peter from a distance. And that was enough for Peter to remember the words of Jesus and He went out and wept
The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly. Luke 22: 62
That was the kind of friendship Peter had with Jesus. One straight look was enough.
Point to ponder: Am I aware that the eyes of God are looking straight at me when I am alone?
10. You will even dare to die for Him
True mark of a true friend is that he will be willing even to die for his friend.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15: 13
Jesus demonstrated His love for us by dying on the cross for our sins. What a powerful friendship!
Point to ponder: Am I willing to risk my life for Jesus?
One assignment for you!
If God is your friend, He will do all these for you. True!
Now, I just want you revisit all the above points and imagine God is considering you as His own friend. Can you fulfill all these to God as His friend? I would like to know your thoughts on this.
One example: Point #10. God proved His friendship with you by dying for you. As God’s friend, I should be willing to die for God.
Similarly, could you please share your favorite point below as a comment. 🙂 I am eagerly waiting for your comments. Thanks in advance
You’re my best friend (Queen)
You’re my best friend

Ooh, you make me live
Whatever this world can give to me
It’s you, you’re all I see
Ooh, you make me live now honey
Ooh, you make me live
Oh, you’re the best friend
That I ever had
I’ve been with you such a long time
You’re my sunshine
And I want you to know
That my feelings are true
I really love you (Ooh)
Oh, you’re my best friend
Ooh, you make me live
Ooh, I’ve been wandering round
But I still come back to you
(still come back to you)
In rain or shine
You’ve stood by me girl
I’m happy at home (happy at home)
You’re my best friend
Oh, you’re the first one
When things turn out bad
You know I’ll never be lonely
You’re my only one
And I love the things
I really love the things that you do
Oh, you’re my best friend
Oh, ooh, you make me live
I’m happy (happy at home)
You’re my best friend
Oh, oh, you’re my best friend

136 Inspiring Friendship Quotes
In this post I’d like to share the best friendship quotes I’ve found in the past 10+ years.
Because few things have such a huge impact on happiness and the enjoyment, depth and plain fun of life as the friendships we have.
It could be the friendships with our partners, family members, co-workers and the people we have known for a few years now or since we were kids.
Or even with people we have never even met at the other side of the world or the pets we love.
So I’d like to start this year by looking back and share some of the best advice on this topic from the people who have walked this earth over the past hundreds and thousands of years.
This is 136 thought-provoking, beautiful, sometimes poignant and sometimes funny quotes on friendship.
And if you want even more inspiration then I’d recommend this collection of quotes on self-care and this one filled with quotes on never giving up.
[Note: the original version of this post contained 74 quotes but it has now been updated with 60 additional quotes on friendship.]

God was never on your side (Motörhead)
God was never on your side

If the stars fall down on me,
And the sun refused to shine,
Then may the shackles be undone,
May all the old words cease to rhyme.
If the sky turned into stone,
It will matter not at all,
For there is no heaven in the sky,
Hell does not wait for our downfall.
Let the voice of reason chime,
Let the pious vanish for all time.
God’s face is hidden, all unseen,
You can’t ask Him what it all means,
He was never on your side,
God was never on your side.
Let right or wrong alone decide,
God was never on your side.
See ten thousand ministries,
See the holy, righteous dogs.
They claim to heal, but all they do is steal,
Abuse your faith, cheat, and rob.
If God is wise, why is He still
When these false prophets call Him friend?
Why is He silent? Is He blind?
Are we abandoned in the end?
Let the sword of reason shine,
Let us be free of prayer and shrine.
God’s face is hidden, turned away,
He never has a word to say,
He was never on your side,
God was never on your side.
Let right or wrong alone decide,
God was never on your side.
No, no, no.
He was never on your side,
God was never on your side,
Never, never, never, never,
Never on your side,
Never on your side.
God was never on your side,
Never on your side.
Am I in Love with My Best Friend? Quiz (LGBTQ+ edition)

Your feelings about love can get pretty complicated, especially if you think you love your best friend. Try this quiz to help you figure out what you’re really feeling.
«You have more than just a little crush on her, you’re downright in love with her and that’s a beautiful thing. Don’t be afraid to tell her how you feel.»
Have been friends with her for a few years.. but only started to realise my feelings towards her a few months ago. We aren’t the closest of friends but i can say that we can talk comfortably around each other. I’ve actually confessed to her a month ago, but i got a «not looking for rs rn» response back. and TBH, i thought i would get over it really quick like how i’ve gotten over my past crushes quick as well aft getting rejected SUBTLY. but.. for her i couldn’t. i have no idea why. after it being awkward for about a week i worked up the courage to have a conversation with her again, and all is smooth now, except that since i can talk to her more now, my feelings grow STRONGER. her smile bro. i’ve said some things to her accidentally which i felt might have hinted to her that i STILL like her? but im not sure if she got the hint.. and i feel like i might’ve already been really obvious but. idk. been kinda stressed out overthinking this because i’ve been kinda acting strange on text with her and i feel bad hahaha because i dont wanna make her feel uncomfortable by texting too nicely to her and complimenting her but i also want to get closer to her by being NOT SO nice you know. i really want her to be mine though. she just keeps pulling me in. no one else has made me feel this way :,)
I’ve known her for a bit since I was younger, and for at least a year now I have had some feelings for her. I don’t even know if they are feelings, it might be a phase but some parts of me hope not. When I think of her and when I’m with her I feel confused but wish she was with me for the rest of my life in a loving way. She means the world to me, and we don’t talk that much anymore, but my feelings will not fade. The test results said I’m in love with her and honestly I’m not surprised.
I just wish I had someone to talk to about this because I’m pretty sure both of my parents are homophobic and I feel weird opening up about this to my sister. I don’t talk to many of my friends because I don’t like coming towards people myself. I can’t talk to my best friend about it because I don’t want to lose her. Sometimes I just feel so alone, and I know it’s my fault. When I realized I might be bisexual was when I was with her. I think about her night and day. I love her so much, even if she doesn’t know it. I am an introvert with social anxiety and have had multiple panic attacks before because I was around too many people and 2 mental breakdowns. She makes me feel at ease and forget about all of those things, I just can’t lose her so I have to hide these feelings a little longer.
I have had some friends like her before, and now, but I only feel that way towards her. I guess it’s because we’ve been friends for a long time? I don’t know. All I know is I feel so much better because this is the first time I’ve let it out. If you have read this, thank you so much for putting your time into reading this! It means a lot to me, goodbye.
Sincerely,
a stranger 🙂
ps. she says she’s still thinking about her sexuality. what to dooo.

How Does Your Friend Make Your Life Better?
Because man is a social animal, it’s impossible for us to move through life completely alone and in isolation. We always strive to find connections and links with other people like ourselves.
With similar interests, likes, and dislikes, we’re able to forge a bond with strangers. By opening ourselves up to them, we build a relationship, and soon enough, strangers become friends.
But, though it’s easy to be social and interact with others, it’s an entirely different ball game when it comes to finding genuine friends. Building true and lasting friendships takes time, effort, honesty, loyalty, and love. It’s not something that’ll happen quickly, but once you do find someone who can be your real friend, we’re sure it’ll be worth it!
We hope these quotes were able to shed light on what the true meaning of friendship is. Feel free to reread these top friendship quotes whenever you’re in doubt or need advice. Maybe you’ll find a friend in the next stranger you come across!

4 Signs God Is Telling You to End a Friendship
by Mark Ballenger
If God does lead you to end a friendship, this does not mean you now need to be enemies with this person. Sometimes a friendship needs to end gradually by simply hanging out with this person less because God wants you to put your energy somewhere else. At other times God will tell you to abruptly cut this person out of your life because you’ve already tried to talk about the issues in the friendship but this person is not listening and is toxic to be around.
I say all that because in this article I’m not going to be covering how you should end a friendship. Each type of friendship is different; some are serious because you’ve known someone a longtime and some are not because you just started hanging out. Pray for wisdom on how to lovingly end a friendship while also protecting your own heart as Proverbs 4:23 commands.
With that said, here are 4 common signs God will give you when he wants you to end a friendship.
1. If This Friendship Is Preventing You from Moving Forward in Life, This Often Means God Wants You to End This Friendship
As the common saying goes, “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” It’s really true. We become like those we spend time with. This is why in Proverbs 13:20 it states, “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” Notice how this verse looks forward to the future affect your friends have on you (“become wise” and “will suffer”).
Whenever we are not moving forward with the Lord, we are not just standing still. We are actually going backwards. The really dangerous thing about this is that we move backwards so slowly it can be hard to notice. But if you keep hanging out with friends that are preventing forward movement, you will wake up one day and be shocked at how far back you have rolled without even knowing it.
Notice the principle of progressiveness that is found in Romans 6:19, “For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.” One way or the other we are always moving and never standing still. Sin will either take hold and produce more sin or we will follow Christ which will lead to more holiness.
Therefore we must obey what 2 Timothy 2:22 commands, “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” Notice we are called to two actions, fleeing and pursuing. You need to flee those friendships that are preventing growth and pursue those friendships that help you seek the Lord with a pure heart.
2. If This Person Has Wronged You in a Way that Has Completely Broken Your Trust or Has Shown a Pattern of Lying to You, This Is Often a Sign God Wants You to End This Friendship
Whenever possible we should also seek reconciliation, but it’s not always possible to reconcile and God does not command us to always reconcile like he commands us to always forgive. God made relationships to be built on trust. Certainly none of us are perfect and we all need grace, but if someone is untrustworthy it is impossible to have a good friendship with them.
So if God has shown you a big betrayal by this person or he has shown you a consistent pattern of lies by this friend, oftentimes this means God is leading you to end this friendship so you can guard your heart. As Proverbs 14:7 says, “Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.” Proverbs 17:9 also states, “Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.”
Notice what Paul says to the younger man Timothy in 1 Timothy 5:1-2, “Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity.”
It’s interesting to me that only after “younger women” does Paul add on an extra word when instructing young Timothy. He mentions encouraging older men as fathers, younger men as brothers, and older women as mothers. But when it comes to younger women, women who are single and around his age, Paul says he should treat them as sisters “in all purity.”
I believe problems arise when one person likes the other person but the feelings are not mutual and then these two friends just keep the friendship the same as it has always been. I believe this is unloving by the person who does not like the other person and unwise of the person with the feelings. I say that because what almost always happens is that eventually the other person starts dating someone they do like and then the friend is pushed to the sidelines anyways. It seems selfish to me to use a friendship while it’s convenient and then push that friend aside once you no longer need it to fill your emotional tank while you are waiting for a real relationship.
So this is why I believe close male to female friendships are not built to last and should transition into dating or be dialed back to not such a close friendship. I don’t think this scenario always happens between Christian single friends, but when they are considered close friends or best friends I do believe this is the norm.
4. If This Friendship Is Bringing Unnecessary Temptation Into Your Life, It’s Time to End This Friendship
You always have to put your relationship with God above everything else, including your friendships. If a friendship is detracting from your walk with God rather than adding to it, it’s time to end that friendship.
As Jesus said in Matthew 5:30, “And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.” It’s better to lose a friend than to lose your closeness with God.

Friendship is an extraordinarily unique type of feeling which is very different from just love. While it’s possible to be in love with someone and not be their best friend, it’s impossible to have a friendship with someone and NOT love them. Take the example of your parents; while your parents are genetically hardwired to love you they are not necessarily your friends. (Watch this fun video below if you disagree). The reason behind this is that while love or “infatuation” just happens, you have ALL of the control when it comes to friendship and who you let into your circle.
With friendship, you are given an opportunity to choose whom you let into your life and whom you allow yourself to love. This control gives birth to the most beautiful relationships. While you are in a sense forced to change yourself for the relationships nature makes for you; with your friends, you are able to be who you truly are.
Just always keep in mind that true friendship is hard to come by and that it’s important that you always remind your friends how much they mean to you. So with that small reflection in mind here are 71 of my favorite best friend quotes for your best friend forever, a brother from another mother, or sister from another mister! Choose Your Friends Carefully
Posted on Last updated: February 23, 2021
For those of you who have really entered into a true Spirit-filled, fully-surrendered walk with the Lord where He is now leading your life in the direction that He will want it to go in – one of the first things that you will find happening is that God will start to prune out the people that He does not want in your life and start to bring in the people that He does want in your life.
As you will see in the Scripture verses I will list below, the Bible tells us to choose our friends very carefully in this life. These verses will tell us that he who walks with wise people will become wise himself, but that he who keeps company with fools will be destroyed.
The Bible tells us that we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, that we are to stay away from people who cause divisions and offenses, and to withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly.
This does not mean that we cannot work with the lost, the downtrodden, and the people who need to find God and His message of eternal salvation.
When Jesus came to our earth in the flesh, He always went after the sinners and the outcasts. But when Jesus went after these sinners, it was always for the express purpose of getting them saved and cleaned up.
Jesus did not chase after everyone. He ripped on the Pharisees and many of the high-ranking Jewish leaders. Some people are open to be helped, others are not. The Bible tells us to stay away from people who are considered to be “dogs,” and to beware of people who are “evil workers.”
One of the first things that God will do with your life once you come into a full surrender with Him is to start to set some boundary lines. He will now decide the path that you will follow in Him. He will now be leading you into the specific jobs that He will want you to have in this life.
If you are single and have not married yet, He will lead you to the mate that He will want you to marry if it is in His perfect will that you get married in this life.
In other words, God will be deciding who your true friends are going to be in this life and who will not.
The main reason God will be helping you to choose who your true friends are going to be in this life is because His ultimate and highest aim for you is to transform and sanctify you.
In other words, He wants you to spiritually grow and mature in your walk with Him.
The Bible tells us that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. God’s ultimate aim for us is our sanctification – where He starts to begin to mold and transform us into the express image of His Son Jesus Christ.
The main reason that God will start to take out the friends in your life that He does not want you to have is because some of these people may be negative influences in your life.
They may not be open to growing and maturing in the Lord like you will be, and all they will do is try and hold you back when you start your own spiritual journey and growth in the Lord.
They will start criticizing and making fun of you and all they will end up doing is stunting your growth in the Lord.
God will not be putting up with this, and He will thus be taking all of these bad and negative influences out of your life very early on once you enter into this full surrender with Him. For those of you who are married and have children – it is the same thing when you do not want your children hanging out with other children who you know would be a bad and negative influence on your child.
You know that if your children start hanging out with the wrong type of crowd, they can become very easily corrupted in a very short period of time. As a result, you will become very protective with your children, and you will watch them very closely when they are old enough to start choosing who their friends are going to be.
It is the exact same way with God the Father! This is why God will be moving very early on to take out these negative influences in your life.
Once this starts to happen, you have to go with the program or you could cause God to start pulling back on you. And once that starts to happen, you could then start to backslide and everything could then start to shut down.
If you will allow God to prune out the people that He does not want you to have in your life – then what He will start to do is to bring in the people that He will want to have in your life.
I call these types of friends “God-friends.” These people will be other good, godly, Spirit-filled Christians who are truly walking in good stead with the Lord and they will now be the people that He will want you to share your walk with!
The Bible tells us that we can only “know in part.” No one has all of the answers to everything.
By sharing your walk with other good, solid, Christian friends, you can each help each other out in your pursuit of the knowledge and ways of God.
You will know some things about God they may not know, and they will know some things that you may not know. You thus are able to help contribute to each other’s storehouse of knowledge in the Lord.
One of the verses listed below state that two friends can help sharpen each other up like “iron sharpens iron.”
Just like one piece of iron can make the other piece of iron extremely sharp by rubbing up against it – two solid Christian friends can also have the same type of positive effect on one another by sharing their own personal walks in the Lord with one other.
You will be learning about God from all of your own personal adventures and experiences with Him – but you will also be learning more about God from all of your other friend’s personal journey and experiences with Him.
How many of these types of God-friends can you expect God to bring into your life? Only God will be able to answer that for each and every one of you. Some may only get one or two to start off with, others may get 5 or 10. Let God make the decision as to how many and when they will be brought into your life.
You are much better off having just one or two good, solid, quality friends as versus 10 or 15 that are not as good quality friends as the one or two may be.
Every Christian is operating at different levels of spiritual development with the Lord. God knows best as to who would be best suited for you at the level of spiritual development that you are currently operating at with Him.
When God does bring in these types of special God-friends to share your journey with – they will be real treasures!
These God-friendships will be anointed by God Himself due to the quality feedings and interaction that will occur in them.
Sadly, what you will find out very early on, is just because someone may be a saved and born again Christian does not mean this person has their act together in the Lord. Some people have become too judgmental and too critical in their walks with the Lord. Some have become too arrogant and pompous, thinking they have all the answers to everything.
They will tend to look down on anyone else who is not operating at the knowledge levels they are operating at. Some have become so flaky in their walks with the Lord, that they have lost touch with reality and you won’t be able to connect with any of them.
God knows best as to who will be best suited for you at your current level of spiritual development with Him – so let Him guide you to the ones that He will want you to connect with. I have seen God do this so many times for others, that I literally consider it a miraculous piece of work – especially as to how He gets you to meet some of these people in the first place.
Some of these chess moves are quite incredible, as most of these people will be total strangers to you until God moves in to match the two of you up.
The other thing that could occur besides God matching you up with total strangers is that He may move on someone else you may know, but that you are not particular good friends with.
That person then gets saved and plugged in, and then they find out that you too are saved and plugged in – and now a good God-friendship can start to build up as you now have something in common with one another to start to build a good solid friendship with.
This could be another member in your family, someone that you may work with, a friend who you may have known from your past, or someone you may see at church from time to time but never really talked with. The possibilities are endless as to where these people may come from.
These God-friends can come from anywhere and at anytime – so keep your radars up, as you never know when God may move to bring one of them into your life.
Bible Verses On Friendship
1. Choose Your Friends Carefully
This first verse is the one that will tell us to choose our friends very carefully in this life. This verse should literally be burned into your memory banks so that you never, ever forget this basic fundamental command from the Lord! Here it is:
“The righteous should CHOOSE HIS FRIENDS CAREFULLY, for the way of the wicked leads them astray.” (Proverbs 12:26)
Notice this verse is specifically telling us that if we do not choose our friends very carefully in this life, that we could end up choosing the wrong type of people to become friends with, and they can then end up leading us astray from God and with what He wants to do with our lives. Many of God’s people have lost their calls in Him because they chose to hang out with the wrong type of people.
2. Benefits of Choosing Good God-Friends
Here are six very interesting verses showing you why God does want you to have other good, solid, Christian friends to share your walk with.
These six verses will show you that there is safety in the multitude of counselors, that plans can go awry without having other people to hash things out with, that war is waged by having wise counsel with others, that learning is increased by listening to wise counsel, and that if you cease to listen to wise counsel – that you will start to stray from being able to acquire more knowledge in God.
Once you turn the reigns of your life over to God for Him to fully handle, He will now make sure that you get matched up with the right kind of people that you can become true God-friends with.
3. As Iron Sharpens Iron
This next verse is extremely fascinating as it tells us that two friends can help sharpen each other up as iron sharpens iron.
A true God-friend can help keep you sharp in the Spirit, let you know when you are getting too far off track, help you get through and make sense of some of the downswings that can occur in your walk, confirm and help bear witness when you are on the right track, give you pep talks when needed, and help keep you in the game when you start to get too mad and frustrated when things do not go your way.
You each serve to help keep each other up in the Lord so that you both can continue to stay on the straight and narrow road that God now has you set up on. You can also help each other out if one starts to be tempted to do something they should not be engaging in. Here is the verse:
“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” (Proverbs 27:17)
A true God-friend will always be honest and straight forward with you. You cannot help keep each other up and sharp in the Lord unless you are both willing to be totally honest with one another.
4. Do Not Be Unequally Yoked With Unbelievers
These next seven verses will tell us not to be yoked together with unbelievers, foolish men, dogs, evil workers, those who are disorderly, reckless, contentious and always causing trouble and strife.
There is one verse in particular that tells us that “evil company corrupts good habits.” This verse perfectly shows us what can happen to any of your children if they start hanging out with the wrong type of people.
Here are 7 good verses telling us to stay on our side of the fence, and to stay away from all of the bad apples who have no desire for God or anything that He stands for.
All of these verses are giving us major warnings that we are to stay away from all of the bad apples in this life who will do nothing but try and bring us down to their lower way of living in this life.
Many Christians have had their lives totally ruined and destroyed as a result of marrying the wrong people or choosing the wrong kinds of friends to hang out with.
Conclusion
Just as God saw fit to create Eve for Adam in the Garden of Eden when He first created the first man – God still places an extremely high value on personal friendships, and He will make sure to bring the right people and the right number of people in your life so you can each help each other out to go farther and fly higher in the Lord.
When Jesus first started to send the 12 apostles out to walk with His anointing, He would always send them out two-by-two.
Once you enter into a real supernatural walk with the Lord, you will go nuts if you do not have someone to share your walk with. There are simply too many good God things that will start to happen in your life, and you will need others to talk with, to vent with, to share with, to learn from one another, and to help keep each other on track.
I believe Jesus was giving us a major piece of revelation when He started sending the apostles out two-by-two instead of by themselves.
For those of you who have not been matched up with a good God-friend at this time – just go to God the Father in prayer and ask Him to bring you the right friend that would be best suited for you at your present level of spiritual development in Him.
Unless God is keeping you all to Himself for a reason and a season, there is no reason that God will not want to move on this request to bring you a true special God-friend in order to help accelerate your spiritual growth in Him.
If God did it for Adam in the Garden of Eden, then there is no reason that He would not want to do it for you.
Faithful friend is better than gold:
Значение: Эта пословица изначально была цитатой из древнегреческого драматурга Еврипида – «Every man is like the company he is wont to keep», которая со временем упростилась и стала универсально обозначать то, что на человека огромное влияние оказывает его ближайшее окружение.
Дорожите своей дружбой и не забывайте, что “The way to have a friend is to be one” – “Хочешь дружбы – будь другом”.
According to the dictionary friendship is a feeling and behaviour that exist between people, but what these feelings are and what this behaviour is everyone should decide for himself. I consider that friendship is a gift from the God. that’s why I highly appreciate it. I think it is hard to find a close friend because people are unique creatures of nature, all of them have their own habits, opinions and judgments which differ from others.
It makes sense to say that friendship can be compared to a tree. Its seed should find good soil and under favourable conditions it will grow into a tree. As the years go by the tree stands firmer and firmer on the ground and if it is strong enough it will survive all the storms and winds, but to help it we should take care of it and love it.
In my opinion lucky are the people who have real friends. As for me I’m happy to have lots of friends, some of them are close, some are less, but all of them make my life interesting and enjoyable and I can’t imagine my life without them, because friendship means very much for me. Being friends means making allowances for the other person’s faults, being tolerant to each other moods. The most important thing about friends for me is being able to share secrets, to tell each other your problems and share your worries, to help each other out.
But in my opinion it isn’t an easy thing to be a true friend and before somebody can name you his best friend you should prove your friendship. To my mind everyone can have only one or two true friends, because a friend to all is a friend to none. I believe that faithful friend can brighten your life and make it more interesting, vivid and enjoyable. You are interested in your friend with all his positive and negative traits of personality and your friend in his turn can understand and forgive you everything. You shouldn’t tell a lie to your friend, there mustn’t be hypocrisy in your speech and even in thoughts. Before telling your friend something, before doing anything you should think a lot and guess what kind influence it will render on him and on his life. So I think that it is difficult to be a real friend, but to my mind all of us try to achieve the ideal of a true friend.
I’m sure you will agree that nowadays there are various ways of acquaintance. Some people make friends when they are in guests or on weddings, others prefer to find friends with the help of newspapers or the Internet. Somebody can get acquainted with his future friend when he even doesn’t expect it, for example, when he simply walks in a park or goes anywhere by public transport.
What about me I have known my best friend Natasha almost all my life, but 1 can never forget our first meeting. It was in summer when our families decided to rest in the south together. When we drove up to their house my attention was attracted by a little tidy girl in a rose dress, who was sitting to squat and playing with her long blond curl, but I can’t say that my first impressions were the same as my opinion about her now, because meeting people for the first time we always make a judgment based on their appearance though the proverb tells us not to make such a mistake. At first she seemed to me so correct, obedient and shy that I didn’t like her, but when we began to communicate closer I understood I was mistaken. I think it makes sense to say that when we returned home we were loyal friends.
Today she has changed a lot but we are still best friends and now I think Natasha is a very charming and pretty seventeen-year-old girl. She isn’t tall and I can’t even say that she is of average height but she is always smart and elegant. Natasha has an attractive face which is broaden with open and frank features. She is the owner of a blunt nose, large expressive green eyes and radiant smile that immediately makes people smile in return. Her blond hair and sort voice make her similar to a little beautiful princess from a fairy-tale.
My friend likes casual clothes. Natasha hates skirts and formal blouses, but adores tight-fitting trousers and casual T-shirts. She prefers low-heeled shoes to high-heeled, because they are more comfortable to her mind.
I believe that Natasha is a very amazing girl, because she differs from other people. When she was about twelve she became a real tomboy, she communicated only with boys except me, she liked to play rough and boys’ games and she even decided to go to the army when she would come of age. All her friends and relatives tried to dissuade her and at least she agreed, but frankly speaking. I can’t understand her desire even now, though in general we are very alike. It’s true that Natasha is a very enthusiastic and active person, you can hardly find her sitting at one place without doing anything but in spite of it she constantly has no free time. My friend is a gregarious person and an optimist; she is never bored but always smiles and laughs, that is why I like her fascinating smile very much. I should say I can never be bored it my friend keeps company for me, because she is so cheerful and joyous. She is responsible and original, I think. Such friends like she can be characterized as devoted. frank and careful, because she can never refuse if I need support or a piece of advice, she is always eager to help me and to calm me with the help of a tender word. To my mind Natasha is an intelligent, skillful and diligent girl, that’s why her success in study is brilliant. Now she studies at gymnasium number 56 in physics-mathematics class. I’d like to add that she is a great daydreamer, because she has always got her head in the clouds and she is always dreaming about something.
But like other people she isn’t an ideal. Sometimes she is too lazy and stubborn and I dislike it a bit. She is rather impatient, because she can’t wait for long. But these features of her character don’t matter much for me; I try not to pay attention to them because in general she is a wonderful person, whom I worship a lot.
Though Natasha is a busy girl and she doesn’t have much free time, she always tries to find spare time for her hobbies and interests, because she has a lot of them. Most of all she likes to play computer games and solve various problems on it. She says she can’t imagine her life without this machine. When Natasha relaxes she likes to look through different interesting magazines and newspapers but she doesn’t like to read books, especially large books like «War and Piece» by Tolstoy. Sometimes she can write poems about love. It happens rarely but I’m always the first person who reads her poems and gives an objective mark. Natasha is fond of sport but this year she has very little time for it, because she is very busy with her studying, because she enters the university this year.
And unfortunately that is the main reason why we see each other quite rarely, but we phone each other almost every day, we try to meet on our days off and that’s why we don’t feel separation from each other. Though I can’t see Natasha every day I think about her all the time.
At these rare times when we see each other we like to attend cinema or central park, but most of all we like to speak. When we meet our mouths are never close because we can speak for hours, I can discuss with my best friend such problems that I can’t discuss with my parents. We speak about fellows and our relations with them, we discuss our problems with parents and share our thoughts and dreams. It doesn’t mean that I can’t say about all these things to my mother, but I know that nobody can understand me better than Natasha. I know that only she can support me and help me in everything, because we are very alike, we think in the same way and our points of view often coincide, but in spite of it I can’t say that nothing worries me in our relationships, though also I can’t say there are some real problems or misunderstandings between us. We see each other rather rarely, because we live in different districts and she is too busy even on days off and I dislike it a lot. I consider she is a bit disorderly and she can’t plan her day off in a right way, that’s why she doesn’t manage to do everything she wants. Natasha often has troubles and problems with her parents and it is another thing that worries me. I know her parents very well and to my mind they are wonderful people, but sometimes my friend can be rude to them and as a result they quarrel, when she tells me about such quarrels I can’t take her side because I don’t approve her behaviour, that’s why I prefer to keep silence in such situations. Sometimes her flippant attitude to some things worries me very much. In my opinion she is too flippant in her attitude to preventive words of others. But I believe that all these things can’t destroy our friendship, though they influence it a bit.
And of course in some cases our points of view can differ, for example, sometimes our opinions can be different in clothes, music or films. In such situations we freely express our points of view, we can even argue but we never suppress each other. To my mind thoughts, opinions and habits of your friend can influence you a lot, but they should not destroy your own personality, they shouldn’t influence you if you don’t want it. I’m happy that both of us understand it.
I believe that friendship should be sincere and. In my opinion your friend should be attentive to you, he or she should be reliable, honest and he or she should trust you, because, I think, trust probably the most important feeling that exists between friends, but it never appears by itself, it is the result of a long friendship.
As for our friendship, I’m sure it is strong enough because we trust each other as ourselves, we always share the same joys and troubles together and we support each other at difficult times. And it goes without saying that I like Natasha with all her positive and negative features of character and admire her a lot.
11 Important Qualities of a Good Friend
Good friends are not that hard to find as long as you know how to recognize them. But, unfortunately, sometimes, most people don’t even realize that they are already in the presence of one just because they’re too busy hanging out with the wrong crowd.
The best people you can have as friends may vary, and they have their own set of unique attitudes and personalities. They may be your funny classmate from your high school days or that thoughtful coworker who would always remind you to take it easy.
Sometimes, friends can come from the most unexpected introductions – that stranger whom you shared an umbrella with on a rainy afternoon or even a random acquaintance who suggested a good book for you to read over the weekends.
Qualities of a Good Friend
There are different types of individuals who can be good friends, and the following important qualities make them one of the best people in the world.
1. Loyal: Good friends stay even when everyone else has left.
When the entire world has already abandoned you, your good friends will be the only ones left to help you stand again – and it’s everything that you’ll ever need.
With their loyalty, good friends will never let you feel that you’re alone even if you think that you don’t deserve anyone, especially after a failure or a disappointment.
2. Accepting: A good friend doesn’t judge you for being different.
A good friend will respect your decisions and accept how you want to live your life – even if they don’t understand it. They will be there for you to help you celebrate the person you want to become. They will encourage you to recognize your uniqueness, and they will be there to help you face the world without the fear of being judged or rejected.
3. Honest: Good friends let you see reality as it is.
Good friends won’t sugarcoat things, especially if they know that letting you deny reality can eventually harm you. They will be there to slap you with the most painful truth, even if it means hurting your feelings. They are willing to look like the wrong person just to save you from a more devastating consequence.

4. Caring: A good friend will remind you to be good to yourself.
They will remind you that you deserve self-love and that taking care of yourself should be one of your priorities.
5. Positive: Good friends can help you love life more.
Good friends are good for your mental and emotional health. These are the people who will tell you how to love life more, to be more optimistic, and how to live it to the fullest. They will be the reminders that life is an adventure that should not be kept waiting – and trust that they’ll be there to make every journey more fun and exciting.
6. Inspiring: A good friend teaches you how to become a better person.
Good friends are your real-life guide to becoming the best version of yourself. They will inspire you to be a better person by learning to be a more caring, loving, and kind individual. With their example, they will help you realize that you have a lot more to offer.
7. Patient: Good friends will be there – even when you’re at your worst.
Even when you’re not exactly an angel, trust your friends to be still around no matter how annoying or inconsiderate you become. This is because they recognize that not everyone is perfect, and everyone has their bad days.
Just make sure to make it up to them and thank them for sticking around, especially when you’re in your worst mood.
8. Comforting: Good friends make you feel safe and at peace with yourself.
A good friendship can be your sanctuary – a refuge from the chaos and the mess of work, school, and other aspects of your busy life. This is because good friends can quickly and effortlessly make you feel safe and at peace with yourself.
In the presence of good friends, you feel relaxed and secure, knowing that you’re with the people who genuinely love and care about you.
9. Present: A good friend always shows up when you need someone the most.
They will never be too busy or too occupied to spend time with you. They will always make sure that you won’t be alone in your most painful moments, and they will see to it that they’re there during your happiest celebrations.
Time and distance don’t matter to them because you are a big part of their life, and they’ll never hesitate to show or prove it.

10. Supportive: A good friend believes in your potential to reach your dreams.
A good friend will always see the best in you – even if you’re already too ambitious. For them, you can do anything you put your soul into because they believe in your potential. They are your number one fans who will cheer you up in every victory, loss, accomplishment, or failure.
11. Committed: A good friend will always be in your life no matter what.
Even if they’re far away and regardless of the years that you’re apart, you will always have a friend in them – because a good friendship is forever. It’s the best kind of relationship that you will ever have with another person. It will never end: no breakups, no goodbyes – just pure love, respect, and appreciation of being connected with this particular soul.
You’re one of the lucky few if you have someone you think of as a good friend in your life. But, just as how they are good to you, you also have to do your part to make it work. How? Appreciate their existence and, most importantly, let them know that their presence in your life makes every day worthwhile through your words and actions.
Hopefully, this article was able to help you realize the true essence of friendship and how you can recognize a genuine friend when you’re in the presence of one.

Being good to your friends is not only about helping them when they need help or being with them when they need someone to talk to. Good friends are more than that. They have patience, understanding, selflessness, and some sacrifice.
How to Be a Good Friend
Good and genuine friends are great to have in your life. But in order to earn them, you must also be a good friend to them. Here are 20 ways to be a good friend and even the best friend they can ever have.
1. Be a good listener.
Listen to your friends while they are talking and be enthusiastic about their life stories. A good friend is interested in what’s happening in their friends’ lives. So give them the chance to talk, listen eagerly, and make them feel that someone is interested in their stories too.
2. Admit your mistakes and weaknesses.
Avoid acting like an omnipotent and omniscient person. Understand that we cannot do or know everything. Being a know-it-all person will only annoy your friends. It will also make them feel that you don’t believe in them. To be a good friend, learn to humble yourself and show that like other human beings, you are also susceptible to making mistakes.
3. Be a peacemaker and learn to apologize sincerely.
Learn how to say sorry when you have hurt your friends, even if they have also hurt you. Be a peace-loving friend by being the first one to apologize. Prove your sincerity with humility.
4. Forgive them.
Forgive their sins even before they ask forgiveness from you. Some friends may not realize that they are already doing things that are offensive to you. Either you tell them frankly that they have offended you and they must apologize to you, or simply forgive them without telling them anyway. Your goal is to avoid hatred from growing and corrupting your heart.
5. Get rid of pride in your heart.
Pride is one of the most destructive forces in any relationship, including friendship. It’s not easy to show humility if your heart is corrupted by pride. With a proud heart, you will find it hard to apologize or forgive someone. Get rid of pride in your heart by being a more genuine friend who really cares. Cleanse your heart with kindness, love, and compassion. Don’t plant hatred in your heart, as it amplifies the pride that exists inside.
6. Help your friends because they need it, not because you need it.
In other words, help them or give something to them because it makes them happy, not because it makes you happy or gives you some comfort. Helping a friend should be done without self-interest.
7. Share your problems and ask for help.
Make your friends feel that they can be trusted by sharing your problems. Make them feel that they are also needed and are dependable by asking them for some help.
8. Love their loved ones.
Live in harmony with your friend’s loved ones, like their spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, parents, other family members, and even other friends. Avoid getting jealous of them just because they also share in your friend’s time and attention.
9. Keep your promises and don’t lie.
Did you promise to be at your friend’s wedding day? Did you agree to go with them on a beach trip? Whatever your promises are, whether they are small or big, always deliver them. Do your best to not disappoint your friends.
10. Keep their secrets.
Keeping the secrets that they have entrusted you will show how trustworthy you are to them. Don’t make them feel betrayed. Take care and protect their secrets.
11. Share your secrets.
If you trust them, you will share your secrets with them. And if you are really a good friend, you won’t hide anything from them. Share your secrets to them as they tell you theirs.
12. Trust them more.
Trust your friends’ own decisions and actions. Understand that they know what’s best for themselves. Also, trust the good pieces of advice they give you. Do not ignore their warnings. Understand that they only want what’s good for you.
13. Learn how to take a joke.
Jokes among friends are what make friendship fun, not boring. Learn how to take your friends’ jokes. Do not get easily angered. Do not create a blockage that will hinder the fun and laughter inside your friendship. Be patient, understanding, and keep cool.
14. Show some respect.
Respect your friends’ privacy. Give them some space if they need it. Furthermore, respect your friends’ uniqueness. Be careful when dealing with the things which are sensitive to them, like the things that are related to their gender, family, and romantic relationships.
15. Be loyal.
Don’t exchange your friendship with money, popularity, and other selfish interests. Be loyal, not only to your friend but also to your friendship.
16. Don’t make them feel alone.
Never make your friends feel alone, even during a fight, argument or misunderstanding. Do not create a wall that will stop you from communicating, caring, and helping for good no matter what.
17. Help them grow as a person.
Do not corrupt your friends’ character. Instead, help them grow as a person. Be a role model of good virtues, like self-discipline, patience, persistence, honesty, and kindness.
18. Appreciate their efforts.
Whether it’s a small or big thing, learn to value what your friends have done for you. You may not know how much thinking, planning, time consuming, and efforts they have spent just to offer something for you. Of course, genuine friends will not expect something in return for any kindness they show you, but a little appreciation would not harm you.
19. Be their best support system.
People need a support system to go on and encourage them in their endeavors in life. One great supporter they can have is their friends. Be that friend who cheers them up to achieve their goals and dreams. Do not be that self-centered friend who competes with them and tries to pull them down.
20. Be selfless and make a sacrifice.
Real friends make sacrifices for their friends. Without sacrifice, you will find it hard to follow the tips above. Sacrifice your own pride to be humble enough to forgive your friends. Sacrifice your own time to be with them and not make them feel alone. Sacrifice your energy to help them in any way. And sacrifice your self-interest to make your friendship grow and even last forever.
Good friends are hard to find. If you cannot find them, find someone first within yourself. In other words, develop yourself to be a good friend to others. When you become a good person, you will naturally attract a lot of friends into your life. Just don’t forget to carefully choose who your close friends will be. Remember that bad company may corrupt your good character. Therefore, as a precaution, to maintain your goodness as a friend, choose good friends too.

Faithful friend is better than gold:

| A goose is no playmate for a pig. | |
| One for all, all for one. | |
| A friend in need is a friend indeed. | |
| The best mirror is an old friend. | |
| The only unsinkable ship is friendship. |

10 Obvious Signs God Wants You To Be With Someone
how to know if God wants you to be with someone
Nowadays the twilight zone before a relationship becomes official is more confusing than ever.
It starts with all the different words we use to describe our relationship status. Are you “dating”, “courting”, or “talking to each other”?
It gets so “complicated”, as Facebook states it. So much so that many of us forget the primary purpose for this season. To evaluate whether or not he is the one whom God has for you.

Because the last thing you want is to let your feelings and emotions take over and distract you from discerning well, like with a soul tie. You want to be attentive and aware so that you can date with purpose.
While it is oftentimes easy to tell when God wants you to let go of someone, based on his actions and words. There are also clear signs God wants you to be with someone that you can look out for.

How to recognize signs from God about relationships
As your father and protector, God is constantly speaking to you. He gives you hints and signs all throughout the day about every aspect of your life. Including your romantic relationships.
It’s when we are too obsessed with a specific outcome and the fulfillment of our own will that we miss out on hearing from Him.
Because our own fears and desires are clouding our thoughts.
But you can change that. You can develop the kind of relationship where you can tell spot the signs God wants you to be with someone or not.
All you need to do is draw close to him and desire to hear his voice regularly. Not just when you are in dire need. Question your motives and make sure it isn’t for selfish reasons.
Moreover, remember that God communicates in many forms and will speak to you through your mind, the word, and other believers.
Once you master hearing his voice, it becomes much easier to tell if God wants you to be with someone.
10 Signs God wants you to be with someone
1. The relationship glorifies God
How to know if God wants you to be with someone?
Easy. If being with him doesn’t compromise your relationship with God, but rather strengthens it.
The one God has for you will have a similar desire for God as you. He will encourage you to pursue Christ. He will have similar morals and values and lead a life in which he puts God first.
Because, believe me, God won’t send you someone that corrupts your character or leads you astray. Therefore, you will know that your relationship glorifies God if your conversations and activities honor God with your body, mind, and soul.
2. He’s your answered prayer
The second one of the signs God wants you to be with someone is that the man you are dating is your answered prayer.
While I really don’t want to encourage any of you to treat God like a genie who will cater to unrealistic expectations of a man. I want to encourage you that God knows you and knows the man he has for you.
Therefore, one way to tell if he is “The One” is if the guy you are with possesses the godly characteristics you prayed for.
If you sincerely prayed for your future husband to be kind, loving, and wise then you know God has ordained the relationship if he answered your prayer.
Remember that God has created every single person on this earth. He knows exactly who is right for you and will send him when the time is right. Therefore you won’t have to settle, compromise, or drop your standards if they are godly.
3. He makes you love yourself
There is a very real assumption that if you feel comfortable around your partner without make-up then he’s the one. And that’s very true! But I believe you have to drop more than just your make-up.
Namely the walls around your heart.
Because one way how to know if he’s the one God has for you is when you feel completely comfortable being vulnerable!
Sometimes sharing our deepest secrets and biggest flaws can be a challenge. We are scared that he might not like it and leave, or we may simply be ashamed of them.
However, the right one will make you feel good about yourself and love you just the way you are. So if you can confide in him and love seeing yourself through his eyes, then he might just be the one that God has for you.
4. You make each other better
The fact is every relationship, no matter if romantic or not, will either add to your life or subtract from it.
And the man God wants you to be with will add to it.
God won’t send you someone that drains your energy and disturbs your peace, but he will lead you to a man that edifies you. This man will be a safe haven for your thoughts and dreams, and he will believe and support you on your journey.
So ask yourself the following questions: Does he have your back when life is hard? Does he boost your confidence when you feel like giving up?
If he’s the right one for you, he will support you when you face challenges and vice versa and the two of you will make each other better.
5. You become part of each other’s life
One way to know that a man is dating you with intention is if he prioritizes spending time with you every week. While your life should not revolve around each other, they definitely should include each other.
You will notice that before he makes plans with his friends, he ensures that you get to spend time with each other first.
And whenever he has exciting news to share or something to talk about you are the first person that he contacts. The truth is the best relationships are the ones where the couple considers each other as best friends and truly share their lives.
When you have a true bond that is built on real intimacy and not just physical attraction you will enjoy spending time together and talking for hours so much more.
6. His actions speak louder than his words
We all know the very popular phrase “If a guy likes you, he will make the effort!“. And I could not agree more!
One thing I believe God does when he wants you to be with someone is that he will send you very clear signs of whether or not the other person is the one for you.
That’s why you have to pay close attention to his words and actions. Do they match? A man who is in it for the long run wants to be trustworthy and make sure that he’s reliable.
He won’t say one thing and do another. But rather show you with his actions that he is serious about you.
Many men will speak about all the things they want to do, but only a few will actually follow up and put in the work. And they will only do so for the woman they value.
When God sends you a man, that man will have integrity and stand by his word.
7. He knows what he wants
We live in a time where we can connect with hundreds of people through online dating. And that has influenced a man’s desire to commit to one woman.
A lot of them are scared that they might find someone “better” after they are already committed to you, but if you ask them what “better” is, they can’t seem to put it in words.
If God put him in your life, that will not be the case for him. He will know you are the right one for him, based on your personality, actions, and most likely your looks (yes attraction does play a role).
A man who knows what he wants will show you by stating his intentions for the relationship early on. He will have a vision for the relationship he is looking for and the type of woman he wants in it.
8. He pursues you
We all know the saying and the movie “He’s just not that into you”.
One of the many signs that you are dating someone that just isn’t that into you is that he will not put in an effort to be with you. Every interaction will be initiated by you and oftentimes every date will be planned by you too.
However, one of the signs God wants you to be with someone, is that he will send a man that actively pursues you. That man will call, will text and he will enjoy planning a date or two to make you happy.
Because one of the most obvious signs God wants you to be with someone is that the relationship will flourish if he is the one and will end if he is not the one.
9. You trust him
Another one of the signs God wants you to be with someone is trust.
However, trust needs to be earned. Like a bank account, both of you need to make little deposits to that trust bank account daily. And after a while when you feel comfortable, you can start increasing the amount.
The man God has for you will make you feel comfortable investing. You will trust him because of his words and actions as mentioned above.
His intentions for you will be clear and you will feel peace about the relationship.
The best way to test that is to observe his actions when he’s around you. Is he open and communicative or closed up and hard to read?
Does he have a problem with you being close when he’s on the phone or reading e-mails? Or does he ask you to pick up a call if he’s busy?
These habits might seem small, but if he’s overly secretive around you it’s an obvious sign that he’s hiding bigger things from you.
In a thriving relationship, your fears and doubts will vanish the more time you spend together. You will start to trust him, not just with the relationship but with your life, goals, and future.
10. He respects you
Too often we think respecting someone only refers to the way we speak to them. However, in relationships respect is part of the foundation you build on and can make or break it.
It’s the daily habits that you have to look out for in the beginning. One way to know if God has ordained the relationship is whether he respects you.
Does he respect your time and give you his uninterrupted attention when you are together? Or is he preoccupied with work and other things?
Another way to see if he respects you is in conversations. Does he repeatedly cut you off when you discuss something? Or does he value your opinion and appreciate your point of view?
Last but not least, is he loyal? Now this one is important!
Remember, that being in a relationship means the two of you are merging two completely different families, backgrounds, and experiences.
That means you will run into situations where one of you is wrongly perceived. And only if the two of you can stick up for each other, your relationship can survive.
And I know that even with all these signs God wants you to be with someone, it can sometimes be hard to know for sure.
That’s why it’s important to pay close attention because sometimes there are signs God is protecting you from a bad relationship.
5 Signs God is protecting you from a bad relationship
If you’ve been dating someone and noticed the following signs, then it’s safe to say that he’s not the one God has for you. Instead of forcing it, decide to see them as God’s protection and move on.
1. His words don’t match his actions
One of my favorite quotes is by Maya Angelou and I bet you know it:
‘When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time’
Simple but pivotal. If the guy you are dating keeps telling you how much he misses you but never makes time to meet, something is off.
Same for the man that repeatedly keeps showing interest in other women. While simultaneously assuring you that you’re the only one he wants.
As women, we are blessed with our “intuition”. The holy spirit working in us and giving us highly developed discernment. So trust your intuition and pray for revelation to make sure that you are not misled.
By doing so you will be able to tell whether his actions align with his words and how to know if God is leading you into a relationship.
2. He doesn’t know what he wants
The good old ‘what are we’ conversation. In your head, it takes place at least once a week, but in reality, it takes weeks until it actually happens.
You try to introduce the topic spontaneously and act super laid back doing so. That’s when he hits you with the ‘Let’s just see where this goes and take it slow’ attitude.
Usually, that’s when I run to the bathroom, ask the holy spirit to take over and remove all sharp objects around #keepingitreal. But on a more practical note that should be the moment when you take a mental note – Issa Red Flag!
We all know that the bible says:
‘He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord’ (Proverbs 18:22 NIV).
So if he found you, but doesn’t even know what he was looking for, how does he know if you are really a good thing for him?
It’s like wandering through a department store and buying a pair of expensive heels because they look good on the shelf. After 3 weeks in the closet, you realize that you should never have gotten them because they don’t fit any of the clothes (lifestyle) you have.
Because deep down you are a Nike and Sandals kinda girl.
A man who doesn’t clearly communicate what he wants from the beginning is stringing you along to see if it will change over time.
And that’s usually when most of us girls end up in a situationship. We hope that he will change his mind and commit. But how can you be sure, if he doesn’t even know what he wants?
The only way to find out is by identifying why he does not know what he wants. Is it because he is adamant about being single? Or is it because he has never met a woman he wanted to be with?
If you are dealing with the latter, then chances are that he will be open to going from casual to committed. And with a few very powerful steps that I explain in detail in my book, you can inspire him to go from “Situationship to Relationship” and get the love you desire.
Remember that scripture is clear on the fact that a man should be able to lead you. Meaning he needs to have a vision of where the relationship will go. Otherwise, he will end up wasting your time.
So, if he doesn’t have a plan for your relationship it’s a sign he’s not the one God has for you.
3. His attention drops
Ohh I hate when that happens.
The first 3 months he treats you like a princess. He takes you out to your favorite restaurants. Calls you at 8 AM just to say good morning and listens to your favorite celebrity stories.
Out of the blue everything changes. He doesn’t care about taking you out anymore and prefers getting McDonald’s drive-thru for every date.
He only calls you when you ask him to. And every time you mention a celebrity name he rolls his eyes.
Deep down you know that something is wrong, but you brush it off and tell yourself that it is normal.
While I do think that a relationship eventually leaves the honeymoon stage and becomes a constant part of your life, I want you to understand that certain things shouldn’t just happen to charm you the first 3 months.
And it is your job to determine what type of relationship you want. Do you want to be in a healthy relationship or are these signs of a toxic relationship.
God will allow a man to show you his real self so that the two of you can connect on an authentic level. If the real him is nothing like the person you first met, however, then this is your sign from God that he is not the one.
Just because you have been getting to know each other for a while and you would like to be in a relationship you shouldn’t force it. Even if it means that you might feel lonely.
Instead, thank God for ending things early so that you only cry for two weeks instead of two months. And allow God to lead you to the right one.
God knows you better than you do and will match you with the man that is best for you. That man won’t lose interest and treat you well forever.
4. You feel like you have to compromise
There is one thing I’ve learned in a decade of dating, it’s that you should never compromise on your dealbreakers.
Yes, I said NEVER compromise… On your dealbreakers!
You might think that this is a little harsh and selfish, but I assure you it is not.
A Dealbreaker is a factor or issue, that you cannot overlook and ultimately outweighs any other qualities the other person may have.
Meaning that a dealbreaker is a quality that will irritate you in the long run anyway. It might be the way he treats his family members. Or the way he takes care of his own health or something else that is important to you.
Don’t ignore these dealbreakers, because they may be a sign that he’s not the one that God has for you. Try to find peace and contentment besides the situation, by rejoicing in your current single season.
5. You prayed for God to show you if he’s not the one
Now, ladies, this is a big one, so listen clearly!
If you are praying to God and asking Him to show you whether the guy you are seeing is the right one for you and suddenly this same person starts acting up. He stops calling and texting or goes off the radio for days.
That is your sign! HE’S NOT THE ONE FOR YOU!
I know it hurts, especially if things were fine just a week ago. However, God is a God of action and protection.
This means he will end things if the man you’re pursuing isn’t your husband. This also means that this is not an invitation to blow up his phone and convince him to change. Instead, strive to maintain a balance between your actions and your faith in God.
If one or more of the above scenarios apply to your relationship and deep down you know that man is not God’s best for you. Then you may be on to something.
Trust your gut and pray for discernment. Ask God to show you if he is the one for you.
That way you will be able to tell early on if the relationship is ordained by God. Because when God wants you with someone this will happen…
When God sends you the man you are called to be with
One of my favorite sayings is that “when you know you know if you don’t it’s not it.”
I know it sounds confusing at first, but it makes perfect sense when you really dissect it.
You and I have made choices before about people, purchases, and even jobs. And every time we were able to discern the decision because we just knew.
I believe it’s the same when God sends you the man you are called to be with. You will have a very distinct knowing that he is the one for you, even if you can’t put it in words.
However, if you experience a lot of doubts and have to ask all your friends for their opinion it’s a sign that God is telling you to move on.
I believe that God himself leads us to the people that are supposed to be in our lives, including your future husband.
Signs God is leading you to the one
As a single woman in my 30’s it’s easy to get frustrated and sometimes exhausted from dating. You start to wonder how many frogs you will have to kiss until you find your prince.
And while I do believe that the way to finding the one is by putting in time and effort, I also know that there are ways you can be more effective.
Just like with every other area of your life, God is present in your love life. He will send you signs that will help you know whether you are on the right path or not. And some of the signs God is leading you to the one that I have witnessed include:
I hope that this article will help you understand the signs God wants you to be with someone or not. I know for me it took a while until I was able to discern correctly, but in the end I was successful.
And if you are already in a relationship, looking for guidance then it’s important you understand God’s will in a relationship.
How to know God’s will in a relationship
Once you identified the signs God wants you to be with someone it still doesn’t mean that the relationship will be successful. You need to know what his will is for the two of you too.
And the truth is, God sends people into our lives for one reason: serving him and building his kingdom on earth. So every relationship you find yourself in should serve that purpose.
Therefore a very simple way to know God’s will in a relationship is to analyze whether the relationship aligns with God’s purpose for your life.
I know that finding your purpose can be very intimidating. Because more often than not, we don’t know what our purpose is yet. However, once you do, you have to honestly ask yourself if your relationship aligns with it.
Is your boyfriend bringing you closer to what God has called you to do? Or is he pushing you away from it? You will know the answer to that by how much he supports and encourages you in your pursuit.
If you feel like you have to give up on your calling to be with him, then it means the relationship is not aligned with God’s purpose for you.
A lot of times you will even notice that God is leading you to the one by using your purpose.

Hey Esther, I’m glad to hear that. Be blessed
And what if 2 people don’t have the same religion?
The Bible calls us to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthians 6:14. Someone that is not Christian is an unbeliever.
Thanks for the above write up. I find them to be true
Thank you for this, I recently met someone so unexpectedly and everything that your listing mentions is everything I have found in him. I Pray he may be it but only God knows & our Faith is so strong towards what we have that we’ve come to the understanding that no matter what happens it’s Gods plan! So thank you for your Beautiful words you truly made me believe a little more! God bless.
God bless you! And kindly pray for me from Kenya
Am so blessed by this way….i pray my come true …
What if he’s an ex boyfriend but we have been like best friends forever? We both have gone through the same life situations and have kids. We know that we have something that attracts us but we don’t dare to commit. I have started to pray and intercede because I want God to give me clarity.
Right on on all points. I married the wrong one. And he doesn’t respect me at all. Can never finish a sentence. And he pushes me down physically. Among other things. He never protects me either. Just feeds me to the wolves every single time.
Pray for me, I believe God has brought Boaz into my life, but my growing up without a dad and his having an abusive first wife has strained ourcommunication, though at the core, we love God and desire to put Christ first and center, even if it means no marriage. Your list is helpful, but even under the best of circumstances, God sometimes doesn’t answer every desire regarding our dream spouse, in some cases, for the benefit of the couple growing together in the Lord. I see how immature I was and how God might be blessing me now by keeping me from marriage for years, yet I still have fear to marry. I realize now God might be placing a calling of marriage on my life and the nature of it is to stretch and grow us both. Anyway, keep us in prayer as we are older and lots of people are getting married older. Thanksfor a thought provoking message.
I agree with all of these, especially the action speak louder then words and pursuing you. Also that he puts an effort to make time to see you. This list makes it easier to see when a man is not right for you. My sister is starting to see a man that I don’t think is right for her. He would say that he would like to see her on a certain day and then on that certain day he would never message her, not even to say that something has come up and that he won’t be able to see her. This has happened a few times. One of my friends also saw them chatting and I just told her that I don’t want my sister to do something silly and the friend told me that she knows this guy well and my sister must not fall for him, because he is a player. Now I’ve warned my sister and our whole family has warned her. But we all know how we can give excuses for the person we are interested in and that words of warning can just fly overhead.
So I’ve asked God to deal with this, that he will keep this man away from my sister and show her a deeper intimacy with Jesus, that she will not be desperate for a relationship with a person that does not make an efford to see her. I might be wrong and this guy may turn out to be right for her, but going by what the list say I highly doubt that.
I am so glad that I found this. I have been so BLESSED by it. There is a guy at work who likes me, but I keep questioning if he is the one, but after reading this, I see he is not. He doesn’t even go to church anymore and he can’t give me an answer as to when he may want to go. He says IDK. No, we are just friends.
Thank You! And I cant wait to read the 50 questions!
Hey E, I’m sorry to hear that. Please consider seeing a marriage counselor. Blessings, Justine
I think you’re taking the right steps by praying about it. Seek him first in everything!
Hey Ab, I will absolutely keep you in my prayers. I pray that you receive God’s divine guidance to navigate through this situation.
Hey Nadia, I’m glad your sister has you. You are doing well by protecting her from a distance and entrusting it to the lord. Use prayer as your weapon and intercede for her. You might be able to change her heart or even his heart.
Hey Trish, I’m so glad you found this post and it served you. Yes, I think that is an easy sign that he is not aligned with God (yet).
I am so toched by this and I have listed some of the points in my book I will be going through at any given time I just thank God for the author of this and the additionals for the powerful words and I pray that may God open my eyes I see is goodness and I may know my partner better
I have found THE ONE!!
And yes he has ALL of these qualities! I thank God every day!!
I have a wonderful man come into my life he brought such love to me makes me feel like I can do anything he brought me closer to god I couldn’t ask for a better man but there is someone threatening him to stay away from me or talk to me we love each and we no who it is but he’s scared to call the authorities we both have faith that god will do what’s best for we haven’t talk in three days
Omg! I just came in contact with your blog and what an eye opener for me! These are facts that you stated and sadly for me,the man I thought(well my guts feeling doesn’t completely agree)was for me,I’d say God already ended the relationship because he’s clearly not the one! Thanks so much. God bless you more.
Hey Chioma, I’m glad the post confirmed what God has already done. I pray you find peace and grow from this experience. Blessings, Justine
An, one way you can know if this relationship is from God is if it lines up with God’s truth in scripture. You mentioned him having a first wife. If this first wife is still living, he has no business looking for another relationship (see Mark 10:2-12). And though your “Boaz” may need alot of grace and support (that you may be able to give him), keep in mind that you aren’t called to be his savior. And while being in this relationship could be a growing experience for you both, it may not be God’s will for you to entertain the idea of marriage. God may be placing a calling for marriage on your life, but you can feel confident that he would never ask or expect you to disobey/disregard his principles for marriage in the process.
I meet a guy from church not during church service, but it was a famiky and friends day at my church for memorial weekend. with that said he looked my way and so did I….idk if that was the right time to exchange numbers but I did after I left off the premises of the lords house. he texted me 1st and every since we been kicking texting like crazy being on the phone for hrs @ a time, but I wanna know is he the one GOD end to me!?
Hi Justine, it’s great meeting a fellow blogger who has similar views on relationships. Keep up the good work!
relax. You have known each other for a very short time. You can not determine whether someone is for you from a few texts. Enjoy getting to know each other while guarding your heart.
You either pull him or he pulls you.. But if you’re sincere in the Lord, you will never remove yourself from God.
Great blog post! A couple weeks ago I expressed interest in and started dating one of my best friends. He fits every single one of these traits. However, I feel as if I made a mistake in expressing feelings that I now know came from loneliness and boredom (it’s summertime and I am home from college). Plus, he’s the only guy friend I’ve spent most of my time with and Im afraid of giving that up to someone else. I know it’s selfish and wrong to continue on with this relationship, but how can I honestly tell him that I made a mistake when it’s only been a couple weeks. Is it possible my feelings could change and I could learn to develop romantic feelings for him?
Hey Nicole, thanks for sharing this. I commend you for honestly admitting that you made a decision out of loneliness. While I don’t think you should tell him that he was just your time killer for the summer. I would honestly let him know that you don’t believe it was the right decision because you don’t see him as a romantic partner but only as a friend. Hopefully, you will be able to stay friends after.
Love & Light
Justine
?? Exactly am humbled and I wil take time to observe his ways though we are at a distance but still God wil answer be blessed dear
Great post. I have been dating a guy from a completely different country (Africa) who is a Pastor. I am having to find out cultural differences and learning what is cultural and what is his character
He is so humble and has integrity and makes time when he can but it is very hard. I have got so much from this post
Thank you
Hi Justine – I loved your article. I’ve been dating my boyfriend for a year and a half and struggle with anxiety. Over the last two months, I have felt disconnected from him and have informed him of some things I’d like him to be doing, like going to church regularly. He has not taken that step, but I still feel very anxious and unsure about our relationship. Any tips you have? Thanks!
I should also mention that I find myself not wanting to see him and not wanting to reply to texts, but can’t decide if it’s from my anxiety and wanting to be alone or if the bigger issue is that I know he’s not right for me.
We have been together for six years now but sometimes I sense insercurit cos dere was we want our ways and within dat time dat was wen he had a child with someone else bug they are married and now we are back together again am scared but don’t want to trough away our six years of relationship.
Can i marry a person(man) who is younger(40 Days) than me?
what does bible say?
Woooww this is a great comment! Thanks for sharing!
Hi, great piece. Stumbled on this while looking for answers and now I am completely sure he is not for me. Thanks Justine, God continue to increase you.
Hi Haylee sounds to me like your body is telling you what you have been sending all along – that he is not the right man for you. You have to understand that our mind will protect us from anything that harms us, meaning that if you subconsciously fear that he is not good for you and are stressed about it, it will induce stress hormones that can look like anxiety. You are only hurting yourself by staying. I suggest you truly pray and fast about the relationship and find out what God is telling you to do.
Hi Clare, I don’t think there is a concrete answer to your problem and I can understand that it is a hard decision to make. However, always remember that we are first and foremost brothers and sisters in Christ. If you decide to stay in that relationship even though you are not attracted to him and later on decide to break it off. You will hurt him a lot and that is a horrible thing to do to your brother in Christ. So I suggest you go before God and ask him to show you ways to increase his attraction to you. If it doesn’t work, I don’t believe you should ‘convince’ to get married. Blessings, Justine
Christianity is not the only religion in the world. You can’t assume someone is a non believer because they’re not Christian. That’s a boxed in way to look at things and definitely not what you should be advising to others.
Hi Ashley, thanks for your input. A non-believer to Christians is someone that does not believe in Jesus Christ. And I don’t know any other Religion in the world that does.
I am experiencing the exact thing. This list is reassurance of the peace we feel along with how effortless our encounter has been since we met. We both what we want and we pray for God’s will. Whatever the answer is we both are content either way, because the spiritual connection was worth it.
how can I know God already told him am the one and I already know but not convinced he knows
hey there, i recently met a Godly man online, we have chatted for 8 months and met twice. we shared common interests such as loving God’s word and reading inspirational and spiritual blogs. I consider him Godly and mature. everything went okay except that we sometimes argue about doctrine 🙂 and as time goes by, as our friendship deepens, I felt confused about his intention the same way he is also confused about his feelings for me and then the rest is history, we are no longer communicating. this blog provided me a confirmation that he is not the one or God’s best for me. same as I am not God’s best for him. God is the best matchmaker i believe. I am now happy being single (nbsb at the age 28) and waiting for God’s best for me.
Hello there,
I’ve known this guy who has been asking me out for over 10 years I’ve never been attracted to him physically and I think I will never be but we’re friends. Due to some circumstances that I had recently he returned with his quest. I know something for a fact that he lies a lot to impress me and in the meantime he started to pen up about some intimate details about him. When I’m seeing some of the signs I’m telling myself could he be the one? and the same time though he claimed to be a Christian he talks about his dirty fantasies which somehow sully my mind and cause me to have some weird dreams… he has some of the qualities that you talked about but he lacks number 5 and that is the most important point for me and I have been specific to God about this point. please help I can’t really talk to the people in my life about it because they say my standards are too high. Thank you
just a question though, say you have such guy who is like this, he is 10yrs older than i’m and my closest friend, he loves me even and in every way but i’m not attracted to him like that, i like him as a friend but not in that way. i even tried dating him but ended up breaking up with him because i did not want to lead him and break his heart even harder when we go further into it.
The guy I talk to has all of this, but he said he’s not ready right now for a relationship and doesn’t know yet if God has him for me other than us just being friends. I feel God has us to be together for the long-term. I think he has his head in past hurt that may be stopping him. I truly love him as my friend, and pray God opens his heart to see what is right in front of him. I feel God sent us both to each other for restoration.
Hey Tasia, it sounds to me like you might be holding on to someone who is trying to get away. Even if the two of you are meant to be, it is best for you to stop pursuing this relationship until he comes around himself. Switch your focus to yourself and build up your confidence to attract a man that truly sees value in you. Because if he says he doesn’T want a relationship with you, chances are high that he really means it.
thanks for sharing this it really helpful…
Hi,Justine i have been dating my guy fr three years now but it got to a certain point everything changed..its like i made rules for on the time to call me and all that and i said hurtful words to him..and from No Where i meet this guy and we got along so well whiles i was dating…later my boyfriend got feed up with me and we broke up..which i couldn’t stand it and begged him to come back to me..but justine i’ve gotten into the other guy so much that he potrays all these signs…and recently too my boyfriend has changed ever since he went to school theres no communication again like how it used to be..i’ve lost interest in my boyfriend now and thinking of moving on this guy because i feel myself when am around him…but my boyfriend also says he won’t leave me alone and am confused and the other guy says he is afraid he might lose me…i dont know what to do….
Hi I loved these key points and somebody came into my life that fits all of this but the thing concerning me is that I feel like we both are weak in the department of waiting until marriage. He has explained his frustration towards me being too formal with him which of course most men may feel unsure if their feelings don’t appear reciprocated, but I’m scared that I won’t be able to control myself if I don’t keep a physical distance and then spoil what could have been a perfect Godly relationship.
I’ve dated before with intent to marry but that relationship was romantic way too soon and my partner turned out to be a liar, abusive, cheating, etc. and the marriage had to end before it completely destroyed me. Now I’m on track with God. I really don’t want to end up in the same bind again, but this new guy just seems so much better quality then 99% men these days.
Hi Christina, I completely understand your dilemma. It’s one that a lot of women find themselves in. But there is a difference between being ‘Too’ formal or distant and introducing boundaries. Boundaries you discuss with your boyfriend and agree upon together. If he can’t respect that boundarie than that’s a red flag.
Hey Bel, you need to make up your mind. Do you want to stay with your boyfriend or no? Don’t make the decision between the two men, decide if you would break up with your boyfriend even if the other guy wasn’t in the picture. Because jumping from one relationship to the other, might not even be the best thing to do here.
The guy I’m with does all this ^ what I read the 10 signs. He is loving, caring, loves God respects me, motivates me to keep praying, motivates me to keep on loving God. We meet at church! I’m a pastors child so every has eyes on me so our love we have is hard because we can be together without anyone speaking bad and it’s very complicated and personal but I just need prayer please?
This guy I’m getting to know definitely relates to God the same way I do, and talking to him makes me feel stronger in my faith! He makes me feel good about myself and is so supportive even when I show some insecurity. Especially then, really. He was giving a lot of cues that he really liked me and brought up getting a coffee or lunch, but I’m afraid I’ve been acting too cool/reserved and given him the impression that I’m not interested. It’s just because I’m shy. It seems like that has kept him from really “pursuing” me and setting a time and place. But I can’t be sure. Maybe he is really not the one. I’ve heard that if you feel insecure at all you shouldn’t date the guy. I like him, but I guess I am a little uncertain/nervous. I know you don’t know the whole situation, but even if you just read this and pray about it I know that would be a great help. Thanks!
Hey Brianna, I think you are confusing yourself at the moment. Take a deep breath and rest assured that if he is interested in you, shy or not, he will take you out. There are ways you can practice being a little more outgoing, but never assume that being shy is a bad thing. It’s just who you are. Blessings, Justine
My fiance and I met online 10 months ago. I initiated the relationship. Which bothered me but maybe is not a big deal. He let me know right away he was still married but just looking to meet or chat and wanted me to know he was still married. I am a christian and he claims to be as well. OUr relationship has had some rough spots. He would say its been amazing. I am very close to the Lord and value my relationship with God more than anything. My question is this. Now that I am engaged I have been waking up with unsettling anxiety. Some days I am excited to marry him but I feel like I don’t truly know him and wondering how I said yes when I see that I am starting to see a pattern in his life. He adores me. He takes me to church. he reads his devotions. He puts me first. He knows the bible well. But I see some patterns of inconsistancy with his lifestyle that really concern me. I was brushing it aside because he would tell me things like he has been married before that is why it is hard for him to not make out with me etc. I believe in sexual purity before marriage as it is a mark of being justified by your faith and truly desire to serve god. He does not get uncomfortable talking about god. But i am the one who comes to him when we “mess up” and tell him how awful i feel. He says he is convicted too… but I wonder why he doesnt come to me and apologize for leading us into sin? The last time bothered me so much I told him I couldnt handle it anymore and he said it wouldnt happen again. and so far it hasnt. How do i know if this man is really a christian? or maybe just struggling with sin in his life? I feel like an idiot for saying yes when I have these doubts. His good qualities are so good. but these qualities greatly cause me distress… we are both in our 30s and have kids from previous marriages. both of our marriages ended from our spouses walking out so we believe we can remarry. I do not struggle with lust or masturbation and he says he does not either… but I can tell he struggles with it. He is very consistant in his devotions and we talk about the lord… sometimes i feel like my passion for the lord is deeper…. He is absolutely head over heels in love with me… sometimes i feel pressure to get married from him( although I think he doesnt mean to) but he is so excited to marry me HELP! We just started biblical counseling as this is super important to me…
He didn’t say he didn’t want a relationship just not right now. We talk daily. We are friends. I live my life, it doesn’t center around him. We are enjoying what is presently manifesting whatever it is. Some people are hurt. I think we jump to conclusion in seeing the negative instead of manifesting the positive. Our words have power.
Hi Cheryl, thank you so much for sharing this with me. I do see a few red flags here, but actually with your behavior rather than his. It seems to me like you are overly concerned with his Christianity, which for one means you didn’t do your due diligence when you started dating and two that you are looking to marry a picture-perfect which does not exist. If you have so many doubts about marrying him, then you absolutely should pump the breaks. But if you are just worried and anxious for nothing, then it’s time to see a counselor/coach and make sure that your limiting beliefs are not sabotaging God’s blessing for your life. Love & Light Justine
I know this post is old but I wanted to say that you cannot be unequally yoked with someone who doesn’t believe in the same doctrine as you, it will cause an issue now I say cause an issue because the man is the head it is important to know that you will then have to convert to his religion and doctrine. Now this is something you will need to pray about and make sure that God is allowing you guys to be together it’s very important because I have seen situations where a woman tries to attend and practice the same beliefs as the husband but the wife didn’t feel like she fit in husband (baptist) and wife (apostolic) the Husband didn’t like the apostolic movement and wife felt like baptist isn’t radical enough for her so just an idea of what unequally yoked up with someone who isn’t in the same belief can cause the two of you to have problems later.
I met Lionel around 6 months ago while I was working in Guadeloupe. At this time, I wasn’t living my life very close to God, there were no suitable churches in my area, nor any other Christians, and I had stopped reading my bible regularly. Looking back I can see that I was quite lost as a Christian, and definitely wasn’t living out my faith. Lionel was a good friend of mine and we often hung out together in our larger friendship circle. One day I became aware he was interested in me (as more than a friend) and this led me to start to think about him on more than a friendship level also. At a party one night, we were both drunk and ended up kissing. It was a good moment, but in my head it was a mistake and something I intended to move on from, and not repeat. But during the following days he pursued me, wanted to spend time with me one-on-one, messaged me a lot etc. I didn’t know what was going on and knew in my heart it was doing the wrong thing to be stringing him along. One day I finally got the chance to explain to him that I was a practicing christian and didn’t want to sleep with anyone until marriage. He was intrigued by this, shocked also. It appeared he had never met another Christian in his life, and had certainly not taken an interest in it ever before. But he immediately said he still wanted to see me. I said ok, whatever, knowing that one day we would drift away from each other and that would be it. (I was leaving Guadeloupe about two weeks after that).
Three months down the line, we both met up in France, having stayed in contact the whole time we were apart. Now in more of a relationshippy area, I liked him a lot more. Heck, I loved him. He had taken a great interest in Christianity, started reading the Bible, praying and doing his own Bible studies. He had changed in other ways as well. He had stopped smoking, masturbating and was drinking less too.
Now we are in a long-distance relationship, have met each others families and friends. Lionel has been to my uni church and really enjoyed it. He prays everyday as I do also, and we are doing Bible studies over the phone whenever we can. At this point, our relationship has Godly characteristics and is constantly pointing me towards Jesus. Lionel is growing in his faith everyday, and has not stopped being excited about the Bible since the day he bought one and it arrived in the post.
But I can’t help wondering if this relationship is the one God intended for me. It certainly didn’t start in a Godly place. How can this be God’s plan for me, to be in a relationship with a non-Christian man? Is Lionel going to drift away from his faith in the future? Will he ever go back to his old ways? Is this going to cause problems for us? We have already argued quite a lot together about our compatibility. Granted, we have resolved each argument but I can’t help wondering if this was a sign from God telling me to get out while I still can. There’s also the fact Lionel lives in France and will be based in Guadeloupe until early January. He is 30, I am 21.
I don’t know, and I feel like I need some advice and guidance, even though i also know it is only me that can make the decision for my life. I have been asking and asking God whether this is right or not. And i just can’t figure it out. I need your help.
I encourage you to pray for guidance for this relationship. You stated that you are sleeping with him and you are not yet married. That is not glorying God. Attraction is important but it shouldn’t be the main focus. It sounds to me like you don’t have peace about this relationship. I advice you to not move forward and spend some time evaluating the relationship.
@Well I just recently experienced something similar in regards to the “dirty fantasies” where I met a “christian man” via an online game site. He pursued me, claimed, I am the women he is suppose to marry, etc. He prayed for me, we talked about scriptures, etc. However I began to notice a couple of red flags, he would talk about how hard it was to hold back on sexual temptation, then he brought up how he thinks about it all the time, and this also lead my mind astray. He then told me something very personal (that relates to fornication) about his past. Which was weird because we just started texting each other and he has never met me just seen a picture. Plus we spoke about purity and waiting til marriage, etc. At least I know I was serous about it. The last red flag was when I requested to transition the texting to a phone call or video chat to see and hear his actual face and voice. He ghosted and never replied back. It had only been a week, but it was really bothering me that someone who claimed to follow God spoke this way and never attempted to call or meet me. So when I ask,I had a feeling he wasn’t who he said he was. It’s sad that there are “christian men” out there who resort to trickery to attempt fulfill their carnal needs.
If your standards align with God, its definitely not to high and you shouldn’t believe what a person says, you should be believing what God says. Someone who is serious about their walk with God will not talk about or tempt your purity in any way. Just like the article says, he shouldn’t compromise your walk with God. You both should be on the same page with your desire to follow Christ. It sounds like he may not be the one for you. If he was you wouldn’t be confused or have aany doubts. Our God is not the author of confusion. 1Cor 14:33.
If you don’t like him, the answer is clear. Let him know with love and compassion, that you are not interested.
Sometimes no sign is a sign as well. You should focus on yourself and pray that God brings you the person that is best for you, even if it is not your ex.
THIS. IS. SO. TRUE. and its tough – please take it from me!
Thank you for sharing. I have been single since 2013 and I am a single mom. I had a old classmate of mine that reached out to me earlier last month, we lost contact with each other for 20 plus years just because of life. But he told me that he got saved back in 2015 and has he started his relationship with the Lord he was praying about a Christian woman for him, he said that God put me in his mind and said I was the one for him. I have been praying about him and I am not sure what the Lord has for me. I am very guarded and very careful when it comes to men. (Why I have been single for so long) he does check a lot of your points but I am scared and I am so use to being on my own that I have convinced myself I don’t need anyone. Really confused and prayers please and any advice will be appreciated. God Bless
Hi Yvette, I can totally understand why you are hesitant. But understand that fear is not from God, but faith is. Therefore, honestly ask yourself why you are confused and doubtful. If it is because you ‘fear’ the experiences of the past you should pray about that and ask him to lift those thoughts.
Thank you so much. This is so helpful. God bless you.
I find someone that as all this 10 qualities in him and am convinced physical in me he is the right person but something bothered me, anytime i prayed to lord to show me the right person, i always see a black guy and tall smiling at me with a open teeth and someone telling me, that my husband in my dream but the guy with these quality is a yellow guy and short and doesnt have open teeth am confused
Hi!
Please we should not get confused. That man isn’t a Christian at all. He’s one of the scammers out there who take advantage of ladies. Note that God sent people to us and equally satan does sen. But the evidence is clear. They won’t succeed this evil plans on God’s children.
Remain ever blessed in Jesus name
Hey, I met this guy a year ago and I’ve had a crush on him ever since, a few days ago he admitted to liking me for over a year and he said he had a feeling inside and something clicked inside, he is definitely Christian and so am I, when he told me this we automatically started planning our wedding and future. We’re both nearly 18. How do I know if he is “the one” we’re dating now and we get along so well and I’ve told him my biggest secret and he’s told me his, and he’s helped me to love myself. But I just want a second opinion, I really like him.
Hey Maddy, I’m happy you found someone you like so much. My suggestion is to take it slow. Enjoy the time you spend together and observe his words and actions. The best way to know if someone is ‘The One’ is by spending time with him and analyzing if he makes you feel at peace.
Can it still be gods will if the person I want to be with is with someone else at the moment…
The keyword here is ‘I want to be with’. Ask yourself honestly if it is your desire or God’s desire.
Amen girl. Loved the blog and I think I’ve finally met my future husband. Everything you said, he definitely does them all effortlessly and will say so to your face. When I look at him, I see me, us! God bless you!
You are right Esther!
Hi Izzy! I’m glad you are asking this question because it is so common! I think you mentioned a lot of red flags and I believe you already know what these mean. Understand that your intuition is spot on always! Meaning the ‘confusion’ you are experiencing is a tell-tale sign that something is off. I don’t think I need to give you any advice, because your body and mind are already ringing all the alarm signs. It is totally up to you to decide whether you want to finally do something about it, or stay in a situation that is making you anxious and paranoid. Love & Light Justine
Very true Tally..
Awesome blog Justine. Informative. Thanks a million
God warns us we should only date other Christians not because only Christians are good people or anything of that sort. There are many good reasons, and here are a few: One of my teachers in high school was Christian and her husband wasn’t. She often told me that it really hurt her that they don’t both believe the same things about life after death. It’s also very difficult for them raising their son and daughter because the parents have conflicting beliefs about what the kids should be taught. Being a devout Christian means God is a very big part of your life, so if your significant other doesn’t believe in God in the Christian way and you do, there will inevitably be some big conflicts in your life that can effect not only you, but your future family. If you aren’t both Christian, chances are you will have some major conflicts in values.
Hi darling I like your blog and it’s what I wanted to know. I meet this guy, actually I gave his friend my number because his friend is looking handsome then him, late on they exchange my contact so he called me. I didn’t like the guy but I could feel that his the one, I had to learn to love him and now I love him with all my heart. We click in everything even sharing the birthday but now the problem is he got a girlfriend of 4years and they look happy, all the time when I’m with him the girl will call and disturbing us after that I would feel okay. He gave me his phone to browse I felt like he’s showing off this girl but later he told me there’s nothing his hiding from me. Let me be patient, he knows what he wants and I’m a exactly what he want. Even me I could feel he’s Sent by God. We both Christians same church but now I don’t know either to be patient with him to end up the relationship his in or what. I feel like wasting my time. I told him that I don’t have to feel this pain in order to own him, what was meant to be mine will find me but seems like on his side easy comes easy goes so please advise me what to do. Oh he told me the reason he doesn’t see future with his partner is that she can’t have kids so that will affect him in life because he got 1 kid from another girl and I also have 2 kids from my ex boyfriend.
Hey Yanda, I have to tell you that I don’t think it is smart nor respectful to mingle in their relationship. You are right, what is for you is for you. So why wait for something that is not…yet. If he really means what he is saying, he will follow you once you set your boundaries and leave.
hi dear, I broke up with my ex a month ago, it’s a guy I dated for more than two years but all through the time we dated, there were so many misunderstandings as he isn’t genuinely born again as our beliefs contradict each other.. but last week i got a call from a guy who i know through my ex boyfriend, he is a friend but we not close like that, he had liked me since I was younger but I never said yes not until last week he made his desire known to me that he wants to marry me and he still likes me a lot that he feels in his spirit I am the one for him, he has almost all the qualities u mentioned here but I don’t seem to love him, though I like him but it isn’t deep and I noticed though he is spiritually sound but isn’t stable or consistent yet.. I have been praying but not gotten any conviction about him yet whether to accept him or not..
please I would love you to advice me and also pray for me regarding this.
Thanks for sharing, the man I am with now has all this quality but I don’t love him, what do I do
Hi I read this 10 things if this is your partner that God has for me and i do understand. I would like to know how can God show who is the man who will grow old with me. I been by myself for so long that sometimes i feel that God has forget me. I am not growing younger and I do God to provide me a good humble and simple who fear the Lord and that will be a strong person in this journey. How can you give me a suggestion or how can i ask. Thank you
Thank you for sharing, I blessed with reading this scripture!
I met someone in a christian site dating. We comunicated together through social network (facebook). He is a christian, what I appreciate of him is the desire for to pursue God. He has a desire for sharing gospel with other people. I like his zeal for Gospel. Because even I want to share my life with someone that love God and serve him seriosly.
He was showed with me very open, he showed me everything from his life. I have understand that he is serious about following Christ.
But now, we have 4 month that don’t talk together. Because he said me “that don’t have peace and waned to hear from God”.
I aprecciate very very much that he want to know God will. And I am praying for both.
Even I want to know if is the will of God or no. Beacuse we don’t want to do our desire but desire of God.
I like him, I like him heart and he expressed that like me.
The problem is that we live in different states, we speak different language (he speak Arabic and I speak albania, the problem is that I dont very well english and we dont speak together cause I dont speak him.
But we don’t have any answer from God for us both.
Sometimes, I wonder God: Why you don’t let two people connect who love You.
Sometimes I think maybe I am not the right person for him, because I see my sin, how I err every day and I think “maybe I can be obstacle for him and not a helper”
I don’t know, what I think. I don’t want to think anything.
I pray that we hear God from his word, I pray that God to run our path. I dont want our desires to be fulfilled but I want the will of God.
Often I want to give up, but again pray because I say God will answer us.
And this time we dont have write each other.
Can you give me an advice or suggestion concering situation?
I know this is extremely late, but thank you so much, Justine! I know now that he was not the one. Your advice was spot on and I feel much better about my shyness. Blessings, Brianna
Hi I’m Muslim and I believe in christ so does that make me a nonbeliever muslims are taught to love christ an to respect an honor him so I really don’t know in which part of the worl you live in but find the facts first before you speak
Hi, I just wany to say that the optimism in this blog is something i would love to tap from, that is if Justine will have me. My mum married the wrong man, yet I pray God’s mercy, grace and blessings will be with her. Amen
The Bible tells us what unbelievers are and they are people that are not living in obedience to God’s Word. Unbelievers are people that practice other religions and don’t trust Christ as their Savior. If a relationship is not drawing us closer to God, it is drawing us further. God knew that or He wouldn’t have commanded that. It wasn’t a suggestion. Thankfully, we have a Creator that tells us how we are to live. If only everyone took heed to His Word, this world would be a much better place.
I may only be fifteen, but I think I found the one. My boyfriend fits all of these. I was so insecure about my thighs, my body, but he has helped me out so much by loving me and respecting me. I thank you for this site.
Dear Feroza, as a Muslim you believe that Jesus is only a prophet and not the Son of God and that he was never resurrected. By Christian standards, this disqualifies Muslims and any others from being believers.
Because you do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died and was resecurrted for the forgiveness of our sins, you are an unbeliever. This is one of the many fundamental differences in our faiths. See, Matthew 7:21-23 NIV, John 14:6, John 3:16.
Hello Mery and God bless. Sometimes we read so much information and become so confused about relationships we feel like we are losing our minds. There are many successful relationships that last forever, sometimes even between a believer and non believer. The main thing is as long as your relationship doesn’t lessen your walk with God, don’t rattle your mind with overthinking. Remember, the separation rate between Christian and non Christian relationships is about the same so us Christians don’t exactly set a great example to the world when it comes to relationships yet we constantly preach about unGodly relationships. Have read about life long relationships where one is a believer and the other one isn’t but the relationship has in no way affected the Christians walk with God. It’s only when a relationship lessens your walk with God that it becomes unGodly. Even if we are with an unbeliever, if it doesn’t lessen your walk with God, pray daily and ask God and pray for their salvation, if your prayer is sincere, God will touch their hearts. There are testimonies from Christians who have been in a lasting relationship with a non believer, and sometimes yrs after the relationship starts, the non believer gives their life to Christ. It makes me sad and sometimes angry that people often walk away from someone they truly love because they’ve read about unGodly relationships instead of praying constantly for the salvation of the person. Sometimes people do not know Christ because they were raised to believe that there is no God and who knows, those parents were probably raised the same way. What we haven’t understood is this: There’s nothing wrong with your unsaved loved one (or any other unsaved person) except the devil. No human being who truly understood the salvation Jesus has offered to us would reject that salvation of his own free will. No one!. A relationship is unGodly if it lessens your walk with God. I recently lost a r/ship of 5 yrs, i’m a Christian, they were a non believer, i touched on God with them more than any other previous 2 long term relationships i was in including my first where i was married to a Christian woman, i just didn’t want to push it because they had a past of being physically and verbally abused by men. Sometimes a persons past scars can have a bearing on their beliefs, they just don’t understand about God. If we as Christians genuinely love the unbeliever we are with, pray to God daily with all your heart to reveal the truth to them about God, stay calm and never give up instead of walking away. To me, a r/ship is unGodly only if it lessens your walk with the Lord. God bless.
I have a question so what if I met someone online and we went from strangers to best friends and then to dating, but we still haven’t met and we have 8 months dating and we are happy together does that mean he may be the one? He has helped me love my personality the person I am but I still haven’t fully shown my face to him because I’m insecure I tell him how I feel and he says no matter what I will still love you when he says that I feel he is being serious, I just hope one day I have that confidence and I’m ready to meet him in person.
Thanks so much for your writeup. I’m in a long distant relationship. I have known my boyfriend for sometime now. We go too the same church and all. The first time he proposed, I rejected it cos I saw him as a brother, he didn’t come across as someone I’d like to be in a romantic relationship with.
Fast forward, I left to abroad to further my studies and he proposed again just this January. He carries all the godly personalities I’d want in a husband, he’s pursuing me like he should. He’s making plans of joining me at my place of study, but all efforts are proving futile.
I have also found someone here with the same personalities army boyfriend. I fear my boyfriend may not be able to join me here, also I will not want to hurt him cos he’s been so good to me. He’s the best. I can’t go back to my country now cos I’m still tied up with school and I intend on staying where I am. I discussed this with my boyfriend and he still insisted on pursuing me. Do you think I should take my time and study this new guy I have found lowkey? As in, he hasn’t proposed or anything but he’s a potential. Do you think I should talk about this again with my boyfriend?
We love spending long hours talking together, but recently he forced himself on me, i still love him but i hate what he did.
Dear tiffany,
If you are both already and currently married then he has broke off talking to you because he is doing the right thing for him and his family.
God takes adultery very seriously and it would not be right for you to have these deep feelings for him instead of for your husband. If this is the case then you’re feelings are self generated and not God generated and your up for allot of hurt by continuing this. I say this because I care for you and want to spare you more pain.
If I misunderstood you and you are both currenly unmarried then take a deep breath, keep praying but know that God will take care of him. If he loves you he will come back.
I pray that you continue in the lord and that he Guides you in knowing and obeying him deeper. God bless you and guide you.
You say if God puts a man in you’re life he will know if you are the the one for him by your personality, attitude and most likely your looks. So if you’re ugly you might as well give it up?
I’ve been with my boyfriend 4 years. Problem is, we were both not saved when we met and we did everything backwards and wrong. We moved in together too soon, and I think it caused a lot of anxiety in me because we basically got married without even talking about it. That made me so depressed and anxious, and he didn’t handle it well, which pushed us apart. I could never tell if it was the relationship causing me pain, or just weird unexplainable depression. I regret that we moved in together so soon. It got to the point where sometimes I thought about breaking up with him, but I was not able to support myself living alone, so we tried to work through it. He stood by me when I was at my worst. But I don’t know if it was out of love, or because he was too comfortable and lazy to start over with someone else. At a time he said he wasn’t in love with me anymore, but he loved me, and wanted to work through things. That broke my heart. But years have passed. And last year I came to Jesus and realized all my sins, and that our relationship started very unGodly. But he quickly followed and accepted Jesus, and wants to be saved too. I love him. But I don’t feel how I wish I felt about the man I’m going to spend the rest of my life with. Then again, I know even healthy Christian marriages probably don’t feel 100% all the time.
Now I have this man from my past, who reaches out once every year or two to see if I’m married yet. He’s loved me and courted me more than anyone ever has. I always saw him as a friend in the past, and we had a great connection. Over the years there’s a lot I’ve grown to really prefer and appreciate in him. He’s been certain for 10 years I’m the one for him, and he just can’t move on. He lives far away, but is willing to drop everything and make it work with me.
I know my boyfriend loves me, but I wish he loved me as much as this man from my past. Then again, is this man just pining for me? He’s very smart, accomplished, and a Christian. Although, his wife was the one who originally introduced us, before she left him. He tried to stop her from leaving, but once she left and took everything, he fell for me hard and never got over me, even 10 years later. He says the things I wish my bf would say. He has a sureness about me and adores me in ways I wish my bf did. It makes me question if my boyfriend really is right for me.
I want to honor God. I feel so clouded and unsure. My bf and I are finally starting to talk about wedding rings. But now I have this confusion and anxiety. How can I be certain he’s the right one? I pray about it, but don’t feel any clarity. Is our relationship doomed because we started without God? Or is it all working out perfectly, because we’re coming to God together?
Just maybe, if God had created normal women these days which then many of us good single men would be able to find the one. Women today are very different from the old days unfortunately.

I have dated a young pastor for over 12 years but refuses to take me to his parents. His attitudes sometimes tells me he doesn’t love me,other times too it tells me he is financial unstable. His words and actions sometimes gives me hope, other times too no.Do you think he is the right man for me?
yeah thanks he loves me
Hi Justine I really love what u wrote, I have someone in my life now and he’s asking me to marry him. We were dating before around 2018 but due to something’s I did and said we stop now after three years he asked me to be his girlfriend and ask me to marry him. I don’t know wat to do and I need ur advice. He knows all have been through in my previous relationship and everything but still he wants to be with me, wat should I do and I don’t even know how to pray about it
Thanks Justine. I was so blessed by this article. The Lord will help us to trust His leading so we can marry for His glory and our blessings.
Hi! I know I’m very late to this article, but I’ve recently been struggling with something involving my relationship. My boyfriend is almost six years older than me, but we had an instant connection after meeting through a mutual friend. We started dating about two months after we met, and we’re coming up on our third month of being together. He checks off so many boxes for me – he is a Christian, kind, caring, funny, we like many of the same things, I like his family, he gets along well with mine. But he just isn’t my type physically. I don’t find myself very physically attracted to him. He has a bit of a stomach and I don’t see much effort on his part to lose weight, even though I’ve expressed that being healthy is important to me. I like most everything else about him, except for a few things that seem to be physical. Am I a terrible person for thinking this? I just have always wanted to date for marriage (this is my first relationship, I am 21), but I am so worried that I am rushing into something. He already told me that he loved me, and I answered that I did as well, but now I’m worrying that I rushed into things. I definitely have a lot of feelings I am trying to work through. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
So i take that is an article written by a female for females? But can this be reversed to be for males waiting upon God for their future wives?
Hi Justine!
I know that this article was published quite a while ago and that you may not get to answer me, but I really need some help with a situation… you see I’ve been dating a guy for about 5 months, but I’ve known him longer. He has been the sweetest guy I have ever met, and he actually respects/cares/loves me! He is always there to support me, and he is attractive both physically and Spiritually. We are both Christians, but his doctrine is a little different from what I believe. He is also very stubborn, and when I try to talk about my future career, he doesn’t support me in that. His parents also don’t seem to like me too well, even though I continue to be nice to them. He wanted to get married young, but I don’t. It seems like our goals don’t align? I also have this nagging feeling in my heart that there is someone better for me, and that the Lord will be able to use me in a greater way if I let Jesus guide a different person to me. I’ve been praying about staying or breaking up. But I don’t want to hurt him especially when he is such a great guy. I’m so confused on whether I should let him go or not because I don’t want to regret it later on in life? What do you think?
Thanks so much for this ma, I’ve been really blessed. I left my boyfriend who was caring and loving, but sees going to church as nothing serious after I listened to a messaged from a rekown pastor, then I met another person who seems to be on fire for God, thinking he is the right one for, but upon getting to know him better, I discover he lacks character, in fact aside from him being a Christian that goes to church, he matches nothing out of everything youve mentioned above, I thank God for saving me
I don’t usually do this but I’ll go out of my way here. As a therapist who works with couples. This is really bad. Life isn’t a movie. Please don’t take advice from someone with no experience. Just go see a counselor if you can’t figure it out. It doesn’t take more than a month to know if someone is marriage material. This is absolute trash advice.

So Anya let’s talk about friends.
1) What do friends mean to you?
I can’t imagine my life without my friends. They take up (занимать) a big part of my life. I need somebody who can tell me compliments, support me and tell me when I am wrong.
(2) What makes a friend a best friend?
We all know that the best friend never lets you down (никогда не подводит) and helps in bad times. And also he is really happy for you when you succeed
(3) What makes you a good friend?
I can listen to (слушать) and hear (слышать) my friend, can give some piece of advice (дать совет) and support her, when she needs it. I’m always in touch with her
(4) Is it easy for you to make friends?
I’m a very friendly person. I like new connections. Also I can learn something new and useful (полезное) from those people. This is what I like the most
(5) Do you have any particularly close friends?
Yes I do. We studied together at university and we are still good friends. There is a very close friendship (дружба).
(6) Do you stay in touch with all of the friends you’ve made?
I try but sometimes it’s impossible (невозможно), because people see the life differently (видеть жизнь по-разному).
(7) Which long-lost friend would you like to see again?
I don’t have such friends. I see my friends two or three times a month and also we chat (переписываться, общаться) every day.
(8) Is there a difference in friendship between your male friends and female friends?
I don’t have male friends at all (вовсе, совсем). But I think there’s a big difference because we don’t have many things in common (общее). On another hand (с другой стороны) I believe in friendship between colleagues (коллеги).
(9) Do you ever worry about losing your friends?
Yes, I do. I don’t want to lose my friends. They are pretty much important to me.
1) Are friends sometimes more important than family?
That’s a hard question. I think it’s different for everyone. In my opinion (по моему мнению), friends can’t be more important than family.
(2) Do you agree with the expression “a friend in need is a friend in deed”?
Yes I do. I think that we can’t have many real friends. We can have many fellows and mates (приятели и товарищи), that most likely (скорее всего) won’t help you when you are in trouble. A real friend is a friend in need of course.
(3) How similar are you to your friends?
All my friends are pretty much different. Especially now, when we all are 30 years old and even older. But even now we stay in touch with each other.
(4) Do you think you have a special understanding with your friends?
Absolutely. We can make jokes (шутить), which no one understands, but only my friends and me. So yes, we definitely have a special understanding with each other.
(5) At which stages of life is it easier to make friends?
In childhood of course. Kids are usually pretty easygoing (легкий характером). I think 12-15 years old is the best age for making friends.
(6) Are your childhood friends those you have strongest bonds with?
Yes they are. As I said, the best friends are friends from childhood. So yes, my childhood friends are those I have the strongest bonds with.
(7) What’s the nicest thing you’ve ever done for your friends?
I don’t know. I can’t remember anything in particular (в особенности). It’s better to ask them I think.
(8) How often do you fall out with your friends?
Now I don’t fall out with my friends, because we see each other not so often. When we were young and spent a lot of time together, of course we had some different points of view But I can’t say that we fell out a lot with each other. We were always getting along pretty well (хорошо ладили).
(9) If you could choose any friend in the world, who would it be?
To be honest (если честно) I don’t know. That’s a very personal question. I can’t say it now.
(10) What is the most valuable thing you have to offer as a friend?
I don’t think my friends need anything special from. They just know that I’m always ready to help, whatever they need. I think this is the most important thing. A friend in need is a friend in deed.
