Идеи “Бойцовского клуба” обретают новую форму в клипе вернувшихся Sum 41 – Out For Blood. В нем обслуживающий персонал идет на панк-рок-концерт, и это заманчивая альтернатива разбитому в жесткой подвальной драке носу. Трек стал первым синглом с грядущего альбома Order In Decline, релиз которого намечен на 19 июля.
По сюжету несколько людей из рабочего класса и обслуживающего персонала сталкиваются с сильным стрессом, который побуждает их идти против системы и покинуть работу. Так, официант, офис-менеджер и тату-мастер оказываются на концерте Sum 41, занимаясь, по сути, тем же саморазрушением, что персонажи знаменитого романа, но в толпе под любимую музыку и с менее тяжелыми последствиями.
Последний альбом 13 Voices вышел в 2016 году после пятилетнего перерыва, во время которого фронтмен Дерик Уибли проходил лечение от алкогольной зависимости.

SUM 41 выпустили новый клип Out For Blood. Трек взят из предстоящего седьмого альбома Order In Decline, который выйдет 19 июля на лейбле Hopeless Records.
Диск описан в пресс-релизе как “несомненно, самый тяжелый и агрессивный альбом SUM 41 на сегодняшний день, а также самый динамичный.”
В течение трех лет неустанных гастролей вокруг массивного последнего альбома 13 Voices, фронтмен Дерик Уибли лихорадочно собирал идеи песен, которые в конечном итоге станут Order In Decline. В течение трех недель после возвращения домой была написана большая часть музыки для нового альбома, а затем пришло время для текстов.

Sum 41 Announce ‘Order in Decline’ Album, Unveil New Track ‘Out for Blood’
Sum 41 have just unveiled their first new song in three years, “Out for Blood.” The cut is the pop-punk veterans’ lead single from their upcoming seventh studio album, Order in Decline.
With Order in Decline, Sum 41 promise a deeply personal record covering topics like politics, family and death, centered around frontman Deryck Whibley’s view of modern society. One look at the track listing will offer a clue toward Sum 41’s political leanings, with the song “45 (A Matter of Time)” reminiscent of Sum’s Bush-inspired material from the mid-2000s. Sum 41 will be one of the headliners on the inaugural Rockstar Energy Drink Disrupt Festival alongside The Used, Thrice, Circa Survive, The Story So Far and more. The 25-city rock roadshow kicks off June 21 in Dallas, Texas, at the Dos Equis Pavilion and will make stops in Austin, Atlanta, Toronto, Denver and more, before wrapping July 28 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Isleta Amphitheater. In the late summer of 2018, Sum 41 frontman, Deryck Whibley, stepped off the tour bus after three solid years of worldwide touring, turned on the console in his home studio, picked up a guitar, and started pouring out song after song. Feeling incredibly inspired from 2016’s critically-acclaimed Europe Impala Gold certified, #9 Billboard Top Albums charting, 13 Voices album and touring cycle, Whibley feverishly started putting together songs from the cascade of ideas flying throughout his mind. Relentless touring and immense energy from some of the largest crowds the band had ever played in front of bred a multitude of ideas that Whibley had stockpiled and couldn’t wait to record. Within three weeks, the majority of the music for the new album, Order In Decline was written.
With much of the music written, Whibley focused his attention on the lyrics. “I’ve always just let words come out and whatever they are, they are,” Whibley remarks, “I usually just follow and let them flow.” Unconsciously, Whibley realized that there was a persistent theme in his stream of consciousness that ultimately became a critical response to the world and society at large. Traveling the world and observing how pervasive division, racism, and hate had become, punctuated by the repulsive social and political turmoil invading his own home nations of the United States and Canada, Whibley found himself writing about a great many things he didn’t necessarily want to write about. “The last thing I wanted to do was write a social or political protest record, and Order In Decline is not that,” Whibley clarifies. Instead,Order In Decline is a burst of uninhibited feeling, a page out of his journal, a window into his soul that reflects on extremely personal and vulnerable events, because as he confesses, “It’s also very hard not to have feelings about everything that’s going on in the world.”
Armed with the most honest and personal songs of his career, Whibley continued to pour everything he had into the album. Producing, engineering, and mixing the album in his home studio, Whibley pain-stakingly crafted and fine-tuned each song, highlighted by Deryck’s fast and full riffs, guitar solos from lead guitarist/backing vocalist Dave Brownsound, harmonious chords from guitarist Tom Thacker, and the heavy, heart-thumping rhythm section of bassist/backing vocalist Cone McCaslin and drummer Frank Zummo. The result is undoubtedly Sum 41’s heaviest and most aggressive album in their storied career, while also being its most dynamic and raw.
For each fiery, arena-rock entry (i.e. “Out For Blood” – a down-tuned skate-punk number with an insane guitar solo and “45 (A Matter Of Time)” – a groove-heavy mid-tempo rager that’s about exactly who you think it is), there is an equally powerful, vulnerable ballad that hits just as hard. The honest process of writing Order In Decline, in which Whibley chose to not hold back any feelings, ultimately released a weight that has plagued the frontman in recent years. For the first time in Sum 41’s 23-year career, Whibley excavated one of his most personal stories ever: “Never There,” a powerful track about the connection he shares with his absentee father, who he has never met. He also shares his feelings on mental health awareness the best way he knows how, by closing out the album with a beautiful ballad called “Catching Fire” about those he has lost and almost lost throughout his life. The song holds multiple meanings, as at its core, it is also a love song about his wife and the prospect of loving and losing someone so significant to his life.
After over 15 million records sold worldwide, a Grammy Award nomination, 2 Juno Awards (7 nominations), a Kerrang! Award in 2002, as well as multiple Alternative Press Music Awards, Sum 41 is quite simply a rock band – uncompromising and honest with no intention of slowing down.

I absolutely love the metal sound they went for with this album. Really hope their upcoming album’s “hell” part sounds similar to this.

Most bands get more pop the older they get but Sum41 switches it up and got heavier and I love it
Since Dave’s return, this band has gotten better and better.

DTLI and Chuck are great.
Underclass Hero is also much better than their First two Albums.
SBM is one of their most Powerful Albums.
and then when Dave came back all this Power, Emotion, creativity was gone. and what did we got instead? Guitar Solos. yay 🙄 When will People understand that a Guitar Solo dont make a Song automaticly good?
The best Example is Turning Away, the Guitar Solo doesnt fit on this Song. Its just a boring fast Guitar Solo with no emotion behind it.
Deryck from 2010 would have used different instruments, maybe Piano + Guitars or an Angry Riff ala Blood in My Eyes. Much more Powerful than these boring, fast and chaotic Guitar Solos. And thats all what Dave does for each Album he was part of. (He even said this in many Interviews: Deryck writes the Songs and he writes the Solos)
It depends on what you like. In my opinion, since Dave is back they arent that creative anymore. Where is the Instrumental variety? The Emotion? The great Lyrics?
Compare Catching Fire with Songs like Crash. Crash is so much more Powerful. Full of Emotion. while Catching Fire is just. boring? So much Filter on Derycks Voice. No Emotion at all in a Song about Suicide.
Disappointing. The Rock Songs are cool and Fun. but almost every Song has the same Structure. again SBM did a much better Job.

Любопытно, если бы они попробовали хуярить альмитол. Постхардкорметалкорщики, например, после этого расцветают и получают вторую жизнь (от норзлэйн до буллетов, их десятки). 4 трек навел на эту мысль.)
Альбом чуть не дропнул вначале, остановил 3 квиновский трек, а потом пошла годнота.. 7 трек ваще чистые Raunchy (lite mod).
