All detections are false positives. Internally, RFU «tampers» with running Roblox processes in order to uncap framerate and can appear as suspicious to an anti-virus. For reasons unbeknownst to me, 32-bit builds of RFU garner many more false positive detections than 64-bit builds and are no longer included in new releases. If you don’t trust me, feel free to download the repository, review the source code, and compile the project yourself with Visual Studio 2019. Otherwise, add an exception to your anti-virus for rbxfpsunlocker.exe (or the folder it is in).

I say with great emphasis, as this seems to be a common misconception, that Roblox FPS Unlocker is an FPS unlocker and not a booster. It will not boost Roblox’s performance in any way and only removes Roblox’s 60 FPS limit. To take advantage of RFU, a computer powerful enough to run Roblox at more than 60 FPS is required.
This being said, if you know your computer is powerful enough but still aren’t seeing higher framerates with the unlocker, feel free to submit an issue.

This error means Roblox FPS Unlocker could not connect to the Internet to check for updates. This may be due to your anti-virus, computer firewall, network firewall, or etc. blocking the request. The error can be safely ignored by pressing «Ok».
This means RFU was unable to find the internal variable responsible for uncapping Roblox’s framerate. This might happen if another program has already edited the value (e.g. an exploit). Please verify that your framerate is at a stable

Around June 21st, 2018 I received reports that Roblox was handing out bans to players using this tool. Roblox most likely assumes that rbxfpsunlocker.dll is an exploit or a cheat. I fixed this issue in release 1.6 and can confirm injecting rbxfpsunlocker is now «invisible» to Roblox. HOWEVER, this won’t stop Roblox from releasing a new detection in the future. Please use this tool at your own risk and keep in touch with this repository for updates.

Why RFU rather than the actual Roblox FPS Unlocker?
Roblox FPS Unlocker (RFU) is a fork of the original Roblox FPS Unlocker. It removes the dependency on Blackbone (which wasn’t even used in most builds of it), modernizes the code, and also removes dead code. This makes it slightly faster, smaller, and makes it compilable on newer versions of the C++ compiler. With the removal of Blackbone, antivirus false positives should be less common than they were before.
I’m getting an error saying that «VCRUNTIME140.DLL» is missing! Why?
You need to install the Visual C++ redistributable. Here are the links to the correct ones:
You can install both, however you only actually need to install the one for the version of RFU you are running.
How can I see my FPS?
I used this unlocker and my framerate is the same or below 60. Why?
RFU is not a booster, but an unlocker. It will not give you any more performance than your computer can give you.
With that being said, if you are absolutely sure that your PC is powerful enough to run Roblox at >60 FPS, try using this testing game which will most certainly bring you above 60 FPS. If it doesn’t (so the game reports «Not working correctly.»), file an issue.
Can I set a custom framerate cap?
Does this work for Mac?
RFU will not work for Mac. I do not have plans to add this to RFU because, much like the original developer, I do not have access to a Mac neither do I have the experience to do what RFU does on Mac.

The first Roblox FPS unlocker for macOS. This has been tested and works both on Intel-based Macs and on M1 Macs using Rosetta 2. A new user interface is now available in the ui branch of this repository.
If this setup is a bit too complicated and you want to use a user interface instead, go to the ui branch instead.
Note: you must have sudo permissions in order to do the steps below. If you do not have sudo permissions, either change your account or add yourself to the sudoers file.
It should look like this with 999 FPS.
You must run the command if you leave a Roblox game and join a new one, and after launching Roblox for the first time after logging into macOS. Refer to the sections below to create either a terminal or app shortcut to make the process more convenient.
Creating a Terminal shortcut
In this section, you will create an alias, a terminal shortcut with a name and command. Entering the name into the terminal will run the command.
Creating an App shortcut
In this section, you will create a shortcut using the built-in Shortcuts app. The Shortcuts app is only available on macOS versions, Monterey or newer.
You can make as many shortcuts as you wish for different framerates. The shortcut can now be launched from either the Shortcuts app or you can create a shortcut to the Shortcut that can be opened from either the Dock or in Finder:
Use at your own risk, this is new and still in development, however, this uses the same computational/theoretical method as axstin’s rbxfpsunlocker which has been cleared by Roblox as safe to use.
Please note that this is an FPS unlocker and not an FPS booster and if your frame rate is the same or below 60 FPS, then your machine is not powerful enough to run Roblox at more than 60 FPS. Heavy usage of system resources may occur because of the higher frame rate.

Now, I understand those steps may be tedious to some and we’re working to simply them and a video tutorial will be released in the near future.
Because this is relatively new, I am not sure if you will be banned for using this FPS unlocker so please use at your own risk. This uses the same exact method of unlocking your FPS as axstin’s fps unlocker however, so bans are probably unlikely to happen.

FPS drops and locks from 120 to 80fps
Once I start the fps unlocker onto a roblox game, it’ll lock onto 120 fps. but after some minutes my fps will just drop to 80 and lock onto that fps. only solution i had was to restart the whole fps command prompt session all over. But the exact same problem will happen again.

I rewrote the instructions so that instead of going to the location in terminal and then running it with two commands, users can place the file anywhere, copy the file path, and run it with only one command. I also added how to run the command using terminal aliases and using the Shortcuts app.
Irreversibly caps FPS at 50 after running once
After a recent Roblox update, I ran the FPS unlocker and my FPS was capped at 50. After quitting and restarting Roblox, the FPS was still capped at 50. In order to return to 60fps, I had to delete and reinstall— and trying again on the newly installed Roblox, the FPS was again irreversibly capped at 50fps.

so I saw that you can only access the fps unlocker only with an admin account. if not then it will say «user» is not in the sudoer’s file. As of now, the FPS Unlocker for Windows stays running in the background after opening the icon. When I would join games, the FPS unlocker would automatically unlock the framerate. For this macOS one, it has to be activated for every session with a command.

With the latest release, the binary is built for macOS 12.0 and up. This results with the following error message on Big Sur and older (Currently on High Sierra):

rbxfpsunlocker-osx’s Introduction
The first Roblox FPS unlocker for macOS. This has been tested and works both on Intel-based Macs and on M1 Macs using Rosetta 2. A new user interface is now available in the ui branch of this repository.
If this setup is a bit too complicated and you want to use a user interface instead, go to the ui branch instead.
Note: you must have sudo permissions in order to do the steps below. If you do not have sudo permissions, either change your account or add yourself to the sudoers file.
It should look like this with 999 FPS.
You must run the command if you leave a Roblox game and join a new one, and after launching Roblox for the first time after logging into macOS. Refer to the sections below to create either a terminal or app shortcut to make the process more convenient.
Creating a Terminal shortcut
In this section, you will create an alias, a terminal shortcut with a name and command. Entering the name into the terminal will run the command.
Creating an App shortcut
In this section, you will create a shortcut using the built-in Shortcuts app. The Shortcuts app is only available on macOS versions, Monterey or newer.
You can make as many shortcuts as you wish for different framerates. The shortcut can now be launched from either the Shortcuts app or you can create a shortcut to the Shortcut that can be opened from either the Dock or in Finder:
Use at your own risk, this is new and still in development, however, this uses the same computational/theoretical method as axstin’s rbxfpsunlocker which has been cleared by Roblox as safe to use.
Please note that this is an FPS unlocker and not an FPS booster and if your frame rate is the same or below 60 FPS, then your machine is not powerful enough to run Roblox at more than 60 FPS. Heavy usage of system resources may occur because of the higher frame rate.

Sekiro FPS Unlocker and more
A small utility to remove frame rate limit, add custom resolutions with 21:9 widescreen support, change field of view (FOV), borderless window mode, display kills/deaths and log them (OBS), disable automatic camera adjustments and various game modifications for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice written in C#. Patches games memory while running, does not modify any game files. Works with every game version (legit steam & oh-not-so-legit), should work with all future updates. Also available on Nexus Mods.
The following graphical guide has to be done if you want to unlock the game’s framerate or play on a higher refresh rate in fullscreen. If you do not wish to use that feature you can scroll down further to the guides on all other features. The graphic setup has to be done only once but as the patcher hot-patches the memory you have to start the patcher every time you want to use any of its features.
The game enforces VSYNC and forces 60 Hz in fullscreen even on 144 Hz monitors so we have to override these.
TL;DR Nvidia: Use Nvidia Control Panel to set ‘Vsync’ to ‘Off’ and ‘Preferred Refreshrate’ to ‘Highest available’ on a Sekiro Profile. Troubleshoot: delete the (premade) Sekiro profile, add a new profile by stating the full file path to sekiro.exe and try again. If Preferred Refreshrate is missing or game still locks to 60fps see the guide further down on Nvidia Profile Inspector and general troubleshooting.
TL;DR AMD: Use Radeon Settings to set ‘Wait for Vertical Refresh’ to ‘Enhanced Sync’ on a Sekiro profile. Start Sekiro in windowed mode and switch to fullscreen once ingame. Troubleshoot: see the guide further down below.
60 Hz monitors: disable VSYNC via driver (use ‘Enhanced Sync’ on AMD) and use fullscreen, see guide below
high refresh rate monitors: use borderless or force monitor to always use highest available refresh rate and then use fullscreen, see guide below

On ‘Disable camera auto rotate on movement’:
This will completely disable the automatic camera rotation adjustments when you are moving. This is mostly intended for mouse users, enabling it on non-native windows controllers will not work perfectly (some rotation adjustments will be left) and you will temporary lose the ability to slow-tilt (deadzones). Disabling the automatic camera adjustments makes little sense on controllers. If you changed your input device or made a mistake while selecting it simply close the utility, delete the SekiroFpsUnlockAndMore.xml file, restart the game and mod.
On ‘Disable camera reset on lock-on’:
If you press your target lock-on key and no target is in sight the game will reset and center the camera position and disable your input while it’s doing so. Ticking this checkbox will remove this behaviour of the game.
On ‘Automatically loot enemies’:
Enabling this will pick up all loot an enemy drops automatically as long as you are in pick-up range.
On ‘Prevent dragonrot increase on death’:
This option will remove the effect dragonrot has on NPCs, if an NPC already got dragonrot then it will ensure that their condition won’t worsen when you die. The internal dragonrot counter will however keep increasing, nobody will be affected by it though. Keep in mind that there are certain thresholds regarding amount of deaths between dragonrot levels, if you enable this feature and die a level might get skipped so even when you disable it afterwards the dragonrot level for all NPCs will only increase after you have hit the next threshold.
On ‘Disable death penalties (except dragonrot)’:
Like ‘Unseen Aid’ you will not lose any Sen or Experience upon death with this option enabled. Dragonrot will not be modified, check the option above to prevent dragonrot from increasing.
On ‘Increase spirit emblem cap. on upgrades’:
Whenever you upgrade your prosthetic arm the maximum spirit emblem capacity will now be increased by 1 permanently. Deactivating this option will not remove the additional capacity gained by it. With the base 15 capacity and +5 capacity by skills the normal maximal capacity is 20, with this feature enabled you can reach up to 50 max capacity as there are 30 prosthetic upgrades.
Slow down the game to beat a boss like a game journalist or speed it up and become gud. Game speed acts as a global time scale and is used by the game itself to create a dramatic effect in a few cutscenes. All game physics (even opening the menu) will be affected equally: all time-critical windows like dodge and deflect will be proportionally prolonged or shortened while the amount of damage given and taken as well as all other damage physics will be unaltered. A hit from an enemy on 150% game speed will do the exact same damage as on 80%, the deflect window on 50% is exactly twice as long as on 100% and so on. Of course, Sekiro himself will be affected by the speed too so even though a time window might be different now, the speed which you can react on it is different too. Can be toggled by pressing CTRL+M. Be aware that both speed modifications can potentially crash the game in certain cutscenes and NPC interactions so use them with caution.
This modifier enables you to control Sekiro’s speed independently from general game speed. Combat physics however are not guaranteed to stay the same on every setting. For example if you increase player speed you will be able to react to an attack faster but your own ‘deflect’ window is shorter now because you move faster. Use this to explore the world or to keep player speed near normal while altering general game speed. Grappling as well as jumping is handled by game speed while falling damage is calculated based on player speed so take care when grappling to a lower level with a low game speed and high player speed as this could instantly kill you as the game thinks you fell to death. Can be toggled by pressing CTRL+M. Be aware that both speed modifications can potentially crash the game in certain cutscenes and NPC interactions so use them with caution.
