Produced, recorded and mixed by Anton Kabanen himself as well as mastered by Emil Pohjalainen (Amethyst Sound Productions), »Dark Connection« may feature the most prominent synths of all of BEAST IN BLACK’s recordings so far, especially in the form of the Italo disco, Eurobeat and symphonic elements that the band are so widely loved for. Despite that, at its core it’s still all about simple heavy metal.
The kind of ageless melodies that Kabanen has always been able to create once again melt with heroic stories that are rooted in sci-fi, fantasy and cyberpunk, that are represented in the artwork of the band’s long-time companion Roman Ismailov.
But could there really be a BEAST IN BLACK album without В»BerserkВ«? Of course not, and there will never be. И сегодня мы поговорим о настоящих легендах рок-н-ролла — группу AC/DC! Многие из вас обожают их, и это неудивительно, учитывая плодотворность и талант его участников.
Минутка истории
AC/DC можно назвать семейным проектом, так как он был сформирован в Сиднее в 1973 году двумя братьями Малькольмом и Ангусом Янгами, а на название их натолкнула их сестра Маргарет. Дело в том, что братья заметили на швейной машинке своей старшей сестры аббревиатуру AC/DC, означает «ток переменный/ток постоянный» (alternating current/direct current). Так они и решили назвать так свою группу. Также именно Маргарет предложила братьям выступать на сцене в школьной форме, что в итоге стало их визитной карточкой.
Несмотря на то, что группа образовалась в Австралии, практически все её участники, за исключением барабанщика Фила Радда, родились в Англии или Шотландии. Поэтому сложно определить национальность коллектива.
Стремительный успех AC/DC обусловлен эксцентричным поведением на сцене, грубыми текстами, жестким звучанием и необычным внешним видом. Но иногда именно из-за этих отличительных особенностей группе запрещали выступать на некоторых площадках.
Тем не менее, AC/DC довольно быстро стали всемирно известными благодаря альбому «Highway to Hell», выпущенному в 1979 году. О композиции
«Back in Black» был выпущен в 1980 году и является самым продаваемым альбомом в истории группы. Кроме того, этот альбом занимает 77 место в списке 500 величайших рок альбомов всех времен по версии журнала «Rolling Stone», является третьим самым продаваемым альбомом в мире на сегодняшний день, а в 2013 году он был включен в зал славы премии «Грэмми».
Недаром существует выражение «No Pain No Game», для создания любого шедевра придется изрядно попотеть. И этот альбом не стал исключением. Группа записывала его на Багамах, чтобы сэкономить на налогах, а в то время бушевал сильный ураган из-за которого постоянно выключалась электроэнергия и это сильно препятствовало работе. Именно поэтому Брайан Джонсон написал:

Не только стихия препятствовала музыкантам. В студию постоянно заползали крабы с побережья и отвлекали от работы.
При записи колокольного звона для композиции «Hells Bells» группа хотела использовать реальный колокольный звон церкви неподалеку. Они со звукоинженером совершили огромное количество попыток, но, каждый раз, когда колокол начинал звенеть, а вокалист петь, местные птицы каркали и издавали посторонние звуки. После множества попыток музыканты сдались. В итоге, специально для них был отлит металлический колокол, который они использовали для записи и в качестве реквизита на последующих концертах.
Занятным также является то, что, несмотря на рекордные продажи альбома «Back in Black», он ни разу так и не попал на первое место в чартах США, а, при каждом его переиздании, он занимал только четвертую позицию.
Одной из важнейших песен этого альбома и истории группы в целом является одноименная песня «Back in Black», написанная в память о Боне Скотте — бывшем вокалисте, погибшем во время работы над альбомом.
Забавно, что основной рифф для этой песни Ангус Янг придумал очень давно, но исполнял его исключительно на разогревах или для настройки аппаратуры. Известная американская группа «Beastie Boys» использовала рифф этой песни для своей «Rock Hard» в далеком 1984, но так и не смогла ее издать из-за запрета правообладателя. А лидер группы «Nirvana» Курт Кобейн признался, что когда в 14 лет он впервые купил собственную гитару, песня «Back in Black» была самой первой, которую он разучил.
После того, как группа потеряла вокалиста Бона Скотта было прослушано множество желающих на это место, но оно было отдано Брайану Джонсону именно потому, что он не пытался скопировать манеру своего предшественника, а, наоборот, старался звучать по-другому.

Первый сингл сбил с толку, будучи перенасыщенным электроникой, и знакомство не заладилось. Но с разноцветными картинками в руках – другое дело! Произошло это трагическое событие 19 февраля 1980 года. Помянем старину Бона статьей о посвященной ему песне Back in Black. В то время участники AC/DC вовсю работали над седьмым по счету альбомом. Оставшись без вокалиста, они задумались было над тем, чтобы разбежаться, но потом решили, что их покойный товарищ не одобрил бы такой поступок. Перепробовав нескольких кандидатов, они остановились на Брайане Джонсоне, с которым начали заново записывать альбом. История и смысл песни Back in Black – AC/DCТогда же возникла идея посвятить усопшему товарищу песню, которая соответствовала бы его характеру и, соответственно, была бы очень бодрой и заводной. Название Back in Black появилось еще при жизни Скотта, и оно показалось членам группы весьма уместным. Гитарный рифф, открывающий песню, Мальколм Янг исполнял уже несколько лет во время разогревов перед выступлениями. Слова песни Back in Black поручили написать Брайану Джонсону, поставив следующее условие:
Брайан взялся за работу, начав просто записывать все, что приходило ему в голову. Поначалу это казалось бредом, но позже вырисовался текст, в котором остальные участники AC/DC увидели отражение жизни Бона и одобрили песню. Релиз и достиженияBack in Black, которая стала заглавной композицией альбома, была выпущена спустя пять месяцев после гибели Бона Скотта. В Billboard Hot 100 она поднялась на 37-ю позицию. В 1997 году вышел трибьют-альбома Бона Скотта Bonfire, в который вошла обновленная версия Back in Black. После релиза крайне успешного и не менее известного альбома «Highway To Hell», AC/DC заявили о себе на мировом уровне. Однако, триумф сменился трауром: легендарный Бон Скотт, вокалист группы, отправился по рок-н-ролльному шоссе прямиком в Ад. Коллектив даже хотели распустить, но в итоге Бону нашли замену в лице Брайана Джонсона, бывшего фронтмена Georgie. Многим не по нраву голос и манера пения этого вокалиста в виду их специфичности. Однако в 80-м еще непосаженый вокал Джонсона звучал великолепно: высоко, «цепко», контрастируя с плотным и сочным звуком гитар Gibson и Gretsch. По-моему мнению, Брайан идеально вписался в коллектив и не только не развалил группу, но и поднялся вместе с ней на небывалые высоты. Да, потом он окончательно посадит голос, и запоет как Скрудж МакДак, но это будет ближе к началу девяностых.
Сочинить столь идеальный материал для одного альбома было большой удачей. Что и говорить, это второй самый продаваемый альбом в мире (уступает лишь джексоновскому «Thriller»). После «Back in Black» вышел великолепный «For Those About To Rock», а вот «Flick of the Switch» был уже не столь удачным. Но это уже другая история.
Если у вас есть друг или, может быть, ребенок, который в своей жизни слышал только современный мейнстрим, то поставьте (при случае) ему эту пластинку. Вполне возможно, что она снесет ему голову и до конца жизни влюбит в рок-н-ролл. Чистейший, убийственный рок-н-ролл.
